  1. Are these worth bothering with for 10th boosted racing? Will having a fan stuck to the motor lower temps enough that i could squeeze in a bit more timing and still stay within safe temps?
  2. Force 32 is a great engine. Mine was not that far behind mick's lrp32.
  3. Hyper 7 parts are all over ebay too and are very cheap. I wouldn't recommend a tomahawk, ive got one in the loft and while it's OK for bashing round a car park it's crap for off road stuff, too small.
  4. Big bang fuel is great, always used it in my cars and never had a poor running engine. Duraglo is terrible though
  5. its a 13.5 dynamite brushless. I didnt dare check the temp as i took it straight outside into the cold but it was mega hot, in a 5 min race i usually get to about 75c and it was way hotter to the touch than that. Its still spinning fine and seems to rev and boost up properly so hopefully itl be ok.
  6. So other than It still stinking the house out will there be any long term damage that means I'm going to have to splash out on a new motor next meet or did I catch it just in time?
  7. There will always be a bit of excess seeps out as things tighten up as it pushes the oil down and it's got nowhere to go other than out of the shock cap which isn't fully tightened. I always just nip them up like you would with any other threaded type thing.
  8. I just held the trigger for 15 min but it was only a 25% and nowhere near where boost kicks in so I thought it would stay cool but evidently not ..
  9. Well I had a fully charged battery tonight and my charger doesn't have a discharge mode so when I got in after racing I set my speedo to 25% throttle and let the car rev for about 15 minutes. When I went to check voltage the motor was stinking red hot and smelled like an electrical fire so I quickly took the car outside to let it cool. I regularly race it upto 75c when on track for 5 min races but this felt way hotter than its ever got a racing but I didn't have my temp gauge to hand. It's working OK now but what are the chances that it's done some serious damage?
  10. I used to own the original ts4n pro full carbon with a tt evo 12 engine and i must say it was a great bit of kit way better than the tomahawk vx i had. The RS4 does look nice but for the price of the new ts4n luxes i would go with one of them. As said, get the ts4n on a setup board if possible and put the correct oils in the diffs and it will fly.
  11. Looks great but it doesnt really offer anything that the low profile alturn usa does which only cost
  12. Yeh most bladders will have a dip in the middle so will push the oil out when you put the top on if youve filled it all the way to the top. I normally fill up to the top and then place the bladder on top of the oil and gently with a small screwdriver push the bladder down from the middle working towards the edges so it pushes all the oil out and ensures the bladder is sat ontop of oil and not air. Then without moving the bladder place the shock cap on and tightly screw it down Never had a leaking shock using this method.
  13. Yeh Id say demon and I think wheelspin do them too. Looks as though modelsport have fallen out with xray as they haven't stocked them for a while.
  14. Could try some resin and fibreglass, if packed tight enough i cant see that going anywhere,
  15. I'm getting a new car for Christmas to replace my mi4cxl but I want something which will last me a few years which is durable. A mate of mine got an mi5 and it breaks after the slightest nock which puts me off because my mi4 is pretty much bomb proof. Is the mi5evo just as bad? I was going to get a tb evo6 but nowhere in the UK seems to sell them.
  16. What's your budget? Get the best you can afford so your not wanting to upgrades as soon as you get the hang of it. It's addictive enough as it is so you don't want to be buying twice in a short period of time
  17. Just lock the rear diff with some epoxy on either side of the different balls and plates . Then you've got a drift car
  18. There's a guy at our club who races an original schumacher mission and beats me with it every now and again. He's modded it to fit brushless and lipo. Nothing wrong with the old rs4 pro 3 either, I'm sure there are still parts for it nocking about, there was plenty on ebay last time i looked for mine
  19. A mate of mine used to have a Hpi RS4 with a 2 speed but he always went back to 1 speed as 2 speed is a bit of a waste of time with an electric motor. But i remember him saying he would never sell it because they were so rare..
  20. I wouldn't have thought it would be as bad as the old style shaft drives because the motor now sits the same way as it would on a belt drive car
  21. Only thing that annoys me about mine is that when its off its very hard to turn by hand unlike the savox which are smooth when off. Its not a massive issue but its nice to be able to turn the steering with the power off to see if tracking/toe looks OK still
  22. Mi1v2 isn't a bad car but still its based on a really old model. I would save an extra few quid and get the mi5 while they are still only 199
  23. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/alturn-usa-low-profile-servo-bb-mg-high-speed-/rc-car-products/359810 I used them, great bit of kit for 20 quid http://www.modelsport.co.uk/alturn-usa-low-profile-servo-bb-mg-high-speed-/rc-car-products/359810 I use them, great bit of kit for 20 quid
  24. The metal parts will just bend and then you'll be even more annoyed when you have to replace them at 5 times the cost...
