  1. Unfortunately in my country customs open every package (I have to go there to get it and open it in front of a customs officer) and asks for proof of payment (paypal email printed on paper). So I most likely have to pay 24% vat (it applies for anything over $10 and the kit is way over that)
  2. I don't suppose there is a way to get it in europe without paying vat/customs charges...
  3. Something is not symmetrical or there is unever wear in the suspension or tires, check droop for starters
  4. Yeah epa and dual rate should pretty much be the same (limit total throw, but response remains linear), just names differ. Expo on the other hand makes the response curve non-linear (usually you want less sensitive steering near center point, to control car at high speeds)
  5. I have a dx3c with orange gr300 receivers and I'm pleased with it (casual bashing, nothing pro). I only have a range problem with spektrum sports receivers. Nice and easy menus, lcd, enough profiles, requires 4xAA, good price. Too bad they don't make those anymore, and the new dx4c is not working with orange receivers. Only thing, gets scratched very easily, just carefully place it on the road and it's scratched.
  6. Oil shocks alone make a pretty big difference in handling. Almost taking a bit of fun away
  7. Spektrum "sports" receivers have terrible range, you can recognize them because the antenna is a simple piece of wire, not the shielded cable with the last 31mm (the actual antenna) exposing the middle wire, like any standard 2.4GHz antenna
  8. Banggood has all the parts, kit, motor, two types of escs, servo, even a small 2s lipo
  9. Because they can sell it at that price. Would be stupid (sales-wise) to lower the price. Many companies have such prices (GBP449 for a yeti xl KIT? really?) and while they sell, they will not lower them just for the love of the customers' pockets.
  10. A local shop could still be usefull for generic stuff like connectors oils glues screws rims tires paints etc. even batteries chargers electronics Not fun missing small stuff and having to wait for an online order Better yes focusing on a couple of bashing cars and keeping stock for them, so you can break it every working day and just go buy spares afterwards
  11. Vaterra have nice bodies but a generic onroad entry level chassis You really only get what you pay for, like any hobby it's not going to be cheap
  12. If you up the budget a little you can get a one built onto a dedicated drift chassis http://www.maxspeedtechnology.co.uk/mst-ms-01d-rtr-all-body-options.html
  13. If you convince him it's normal to have rear end steering, you're set
  14. So the motor has fixed timing If you're bored you can turn around the diffs and swap motor wires
  15. First make sure the xl-5 is not in training mode (50% power). If not the case, take them one by one If motor has mechanical timing (by rotating the endbell), for now just set it to 0. Later on you can play with it. On the remote, set throttle channel to default (normal not reversed, middle at 50%, endpoints at 100%, no trim/subtrim, no expo) Calibrate the esc. Pay attention to calibration sequence, not to confuse by accident throttle and reverse. Only at this point, if the car runs backward, swap motor wires.
  16. I think the tx is in bind mode for a couple of seconds after poweron Hmmm, you can mess with other people with losi remotes if you keep a receiver in bind mode handy and powered on
  17. Just parking lot drifting 10.5t sensored (I think it's around 4500kv)
  18. You have to wire a custom charge adapter, the trick in the photo is not enough unless you're using a low current charger that only charges through balance connector Just don't, use balance charge mode on your charger every time if you really want to charge that lipo
  19. Delta body I think comes on both tt01 (very entry level and simple onroad chassis) and xv01 (belt driven front motor, people say it handles nice as rally, I suspect also as a parking lot drifter because of weight distribution). Very different cars (and prices). Neither one is a hardcore basher. Lunchbox is a simple fun wheelie (from standstill) car, but do not expect any performance or handling, it's a 80's design almost unchanged from the first release, all original flaws there for you to enjoy
  20. Where did you get the hardware bag? The mp/lb kit comes with enough mounts for real shocks but not with the screws
  21. Did you use balance charge or normal charge?
  22. If you go to a drift track, see what others use If parking lot, whatever feels right to you
  23. I thought the tt-02 d comes with normal diffs... not so? Just an upgraded tt-02 chassis with drift tires
