  1. Yeah colour me surprised as well. Same again seeing as it's "free" Still got just over a year left on the warranty so I'll try get my money's worth!
  2. Regular usage. It's been showing out the rear of the casing for a couple of months now and I was unsure if it was supposed to be there or not. Now it comes out a whole cm and slid the pinion away from the spur gear - so clearly not. Will get some pics up when I remove it Admiral
  3. And I'm next! The shaft inside the motor has pushed out through the rear of the motor case so now slides back and forth with a bit of effort. Very odd as the actual motor still works it's just "technically" broken. Off on Holiday next week so I'll send it off before then.
  4. What vehicle was it in? I just put my first one in my super 5 at the weekend and it survived. No other pinion has.
  5. Who are you talking to? As for it being a common fault - perhaps we are over tightening the motor bracket onto the motor?
  6. Thanks Can also report no centre diff bearing issues, I even melted the plastic gear box when the spur got over 130*c and the bearings were still fine! You're going to have a blast on 6s.
  7. The 500k cd makes such a difference with the 4 wheel drifting. It's called super for a reason
  8. That looks fan bloody tastic! Maybe I should de sticker my standard shell and add some of the hundreds of big brand stickers I have ... HMmmmmmmmmmmm.
  9. Runner up prize! :D Now ... What to spend it on!?

  10. Wooo Yeah! Thanks Nick, HPI & Modelsport and well done Thunderwolf and Exos!
  11. Yeah! Glad the advice went to good use I would recommend them but they are VERY pricey. I did, they were just labelled WR8 socks, un sure on measurements. They're basically just fabric - I doubt they do much! Quality I've used the same spacer on my 5th scale truck also. Great spacers for longer bolts to work in shorter holes They've certainly helped reduce a bit of wiggle but there's still some. I've not had a bearing pop since I upgraded but having said that I've barely used it.
  12. I didn't want to reply to this as I didn't think it would help but here it is anyway. It's as much about making them feel welcome and a part of the community in the response as it is about information in my eyes. Some people may just want to chat about it and get involved in what is actually a very good community here. Most of the time. Yes the information is readily available but it's not too taxing to help by pointing them in that direction with a "Hello and welcome!". I do think a list of all the answered questions is a great idea though ; stickied to this forum perhaps because if they miss the information with their naivety or negligence then it's one short click/copy/paste away for those of us willing to help and welcome new people to this forum.

    XO-1!

I live next to an abandoned airfield which would be perfect for the XO-1. How ever I'm fond of my ankles and i'm not really into RC planes!!
  16. I did say I'd get these pics up a long time ago... Custom mud guards. Low profile savox servo
  17. That looks great mate. Nice one! They look like the spacers I recommended for the power strokes?
  18. Just to follow up now you're all experiencing the motor problems I had. HPI told me for 2 months that they were out of stock but I kept badgering them. In the end they ordered me one through wheelspin and they picked up the costs. Also ... I'd be careful of calling the 4800kv motor an upgrade. They tried to fob me off with a different KV motor (take a look at the price differences and you'll realise why). I doubt that'll take 3s operation especially not in the summer weather - I'm already getting over heats on the 4000kv at 3s operation. I'm sure the 5700KV they will also try and offer you DEFINITELY WON'T GO ABOVE 2s so be careful with the advice you give and the advice you follow.
  19. Don't know what the KM bajas are like now but there's a thread under the short course section with all the information you could want on a super 5 sc flux. Hope that helps!
  20. I added a fair amount of pre load clips at the back and half at the front and it made a vast difference. I do now run 50 weight oil yes - but the Integy ones are leaking a fair amount! I'm not overly impressed - maybe the seals are no good. The CD certainly benefited from just properly being filled with 100k the first time around. Make sure you fill it and wind the oil through a few times. FR and R diffs both use grease Noj so nothing to worry about there! Probably why it's made such a crazy difference with the CD.
  21. Maybe it's just bottoming out from the shocks being set up too soft? Have you checked your oil recently? Althought if you're ballooning then you probably need to do them anyway. I know I do ... especially since the CD has had 500k installed. The ballooning has disappeared front to back and now started left to right!

HPI : Let the torque talk.
  23. Completely agree with you. Gotta think that chassis looks heavy too - Already asking a lot of the drive train on 6s operation ... Add weight and 8s to play and you're asking for trouble I reckon!
  24. Seen something similar on the market already : http://www.kershawdesigns.com/Products-5SCFlux.htm
