  1. A quick (yeah right) video I made of my RC collection. So quick it's in two parts, lol Part 1: Part 2:
  2. And here's a couple of pics of Outlaw #1, henceforth known as O1, out in the mire.
  3. My 2nd Outlaw, being a roller, was almost a license for free reign. I am choosing my parts wisely, and as and when I get the impetus. It currently has an RW Racing pinion, and spur gear, coupled to the FTX steel prop shaft. I have put thicker grease in both diffs. It has the ali front wishbone mounts. An actual known value of oil in the shocks. I also removed the spare tyre mount from the rear and got a clear shell t do in my racing colours. What I can tell you, is that the bodyshell must be made of melted down crisp bags from the 80s or something, because after one tumble, it split, and bit came flying off. I am not impressed. It also has a homemade carbon roof. I also notice on here a few of you were moving their cell trays forward which made sense to me, because, as you'll glean from the pics, it has a habit of lifting the front. What I also did was stiffen the stock anti roll bar by shortening the upper links. You'll see this in the pics too. so that's me. Further mods will be dealt out in due course.
  4. Hi all New to this part of the site, but not the forum, and defo not RC. I have 2 Outlaws, one was given to me by a good friend. We bought them together but he didn't like his due to some of the compromising part quality. So I inherited his roller. My OG is mostly stock. the stock motor eventually burnt out, as did the esc, so it's been replaced with a 540 from a load of never used Tamiya parts, and a H/wing 1050, or 60, esc. It does run an RW racing pinion as those kit brass ones are truly awful and are partly responsible for the premature demise of the stock spur gear, in my opinion.
  5. I had the same dilemma many years ago. I had it up for sale on the now defunct Maxbashing forum, I had a ton of spares with it and only one guy was interested, and he offered me £50 for the lot. Insulted, I kept it and converted it to brushless. I made some of the parts myself as I'm in the engineering game. In fact, I used it only this last sunday (6th sept') I use a Leopard 2000kv motor and a Hobbywing 150 amp ESC, with a single speed hub and only single steering servo.
  6. Exactly as it says above.
  7. Hi all Following a get off, I am in search of RPM MGT top and bottom wishbones. A corner, basically, and in black. PM me if you have the goods. Many thanks.
  8. Hey guys, bodyshell is finished. Pics up over the weekend. Also, engine is almost run in, so thats good too. Looks like there is no mgt love anymore out there "sob", mocked for its use of 8 shocks, and its un pc use of nitro and an exhaust. Not to mention it is OLD, and like many old things, they are misunderstood by the younger generation and left out to pasture, hahaha
  9. Hi guys I had a quick search but couldn't find one, and thus quite surprised there isn't one, unless I've missed it. Alas, here is another, if that's allowed. I've had my MGT since 2004, ragged it to death, raced it at Maxbashing. Then when the engine (yup, still original .21) got tired some years later, I converted it to brushless and 6s. It was undriveable. Tehn the 6s went up and took the shell and esc with it, and stained everything in a horrible smokeyness. Then about 5 years ago I found a set of OE wheels and tyres for a bargain, and a piston/liner set, and thats where I got to.....UNTIL NOW. Exhaust found, put back on, engine warmed and fired up to run it in. 4 tanks later I have dug out a servo and ordered a body and paint, and a steering servo. New episode here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i8XwY0xFX4
  10. Hi guys Here is the link for my YouTube channel too. It has RC on it, aswell as other things. The latest two RC vids were done only very recently. Please feel free to like 👍, share ➡️, comment 📣 and subscribe 🔔. hahaha https://www.youtube.com/user/21ccFilms
  11. I bought it as an item sold on its own, not from a kit.
  12. Hi guys Just bought a Hobbywing QUICRUN WP8BL150 from a UK store. I wish to set my low voltage cut off at 3.4v per cell as opposed to 3v per cell default. I follow the instructions but either they are, or the esc firmware is, wrong. To get to the setting, I have to wait till the green light flashes 3 times and release the set button, which I do. Then, I'm meant to press the button again to select a number of red light flashes from 1 to 6, ranging from no cut off to 3.4v per respectively. The trouble is, it only get to 4 flashes before starting again. So I'm a bit stuck for what to do. Any help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks
  13. These kinds of posts always attract a subjective answer, and eventually, some form of mud slinging. In light of that, I will offer my opinion, based on my 20 years of nitro bashing come racing. I started bashing, with a TTR Eb4, Then bought an MGT 21, went to Maxbashing, raced at Clanfield, and grew as a racer. Now, I started off using Model Technics, when I knew more, I learned it wasn't great. Used O'Donnell 16%, found it was far better, until it was hard to get, then moved to Byron, and found it was better still. I now use Racing Experience, but that's me. Messing about, stick with 16%, anything more for larking about is just pointless willy waving, but that is just my opinion, and everyone has one. At the end of the day, you pays yer money, you takes yer choice.
  14. Indeed. It reminded me of a shell I bought some years ago for an 8th scale MT. It was cheap off of Ebay, It's 1st run out and I landed funny and ended on my roof. The shell ended up in about a dozen bits, like it was made of recycled crisp bags. I think as long as a different shell was an ok fit and was hardy enough, I doubt it would matter if the OE roll cage didn't fit.
  15. Hi all I don't frequent this forum much, or any forums nowadays tbh, but thought I'd see if there was an Outlaw specific one anywhere, and hey presto. I have two Outlaws, my original, which is brushed, and is used in the winter through the mud and stuff, has a light bar on the roof and is pretty stock apart from the RW Racing pinion, and the ability to murder motors ( 3 and counting ) My second one was given to me by a mate who didn't want his anymore (we bought them at same time). This is my dry version and is powered by a 7.5t Trackstar motor, using a Hobbywing 120 amp V2 esc. I am running an RW Racing pinion and spur gear, aswell as the steel prop shaft, which I found you have to threadlock on, or it falls apart while in use. This is kept lubed by using a sparing amount of ceramic motorcycle chain lube. Up front I have the ali hingepin holders. I have filled diffs with HPI 10k grease. It also wears the optional bodyshell, which I have painted in the colours my race cars wear. However, this quarantine period is the first time I've had chance to try it fully (in the street outside my house, with no one around), and after only one cartwheel, the bodyshell has split. Now, I don't expect it to be Jconcepts or Proline quality, but one tumble, really! So my question is: Do any of you chaps know of any other shells that fit or are suitable? No just guessing though please, just actual experience. Many thanks.
  16. Vintage racing in the South of England, so south in fact that it's the last stop before the Isle of Wight. Sunday 11th August. Possibly a charity involved too so us racers can help people less fortunate.
  17. Well...Here is the almost finished item. The shell is an Azarashi, I got it from DMS and it's to fit a B4. Still needs a trim around the bottom, backing up with tape, and some velcro slapping on, but I think it actually looks rather alright. So, there you go, if you need a shell to fit an FTX Edge, that's yer boy.
  18. Body painted and trimmed. Photo to follow soon.
  19. Just bought an Azarashi shell with a silly name to fit a B4. Will know by end of the weekend if it fits. and will let you all know.
  20. Cheers Capri-boy, a serious lack of hobby shops down here. I have already fitted a butchered Penguin RC Mad Monkey shell back from back when I raced one, and although not perfect, it's not a bad fit. His stock one got completed mullered quite easily as he was new and crashing a helluva lot, and the shell wasn't the best quality anyway. Shells are dictated by their chassis layout and as the ago old, motor out the back layout is older than America itself, a lot of later shells wouldn't go anywhere near it, which Is why my hopes rest on the B4 shell. I may have to bite the bullet and just suck it and see. Expect to see a B4 shell for sale in a few weeks if it doesn't fit, lol. Ciao for now
  21. Hi guys Me once again. I'm looking for a new shell to fit the nippers Edge. He did his 1st all day meeting the other day and really enjoyed it so thinking of getting him a new shell to have in his own colours instead the butchered mad monkey shell he is currently using. Can anyone confirm that RC10 B4 stuff fits? It is certainly of a similar ilk. ta
  22. Since no one knows, or cares, I've just bought OE items again.
  23. Hey all. The nipper races one of these, the tranny is steel so I don't have any problems with that, and I've already swapped the front castor and steering blocks with teamc/ansmann/absima so he can use 12mm hex front wheels, but he did break a rear wishbone today, so I was wondering what else fits, B4 wishbones for example. Does anyone know for sure?
  24. I'm already a raw member on FB, although I tend not to join in too much as it seems to be about 5th scale nowadays. You guys don't go to the field by the bmx track anymore then? I went round it once with my MGT, the right way round, some nipper going the wrong way round nearly had his head removed by a 12lb truck.
