Thanks guys, appreciate the help so far 👍 that one is probably the closest I've seen. Just the roofline at the back is a bit different to the one used in the film. The search continues!
Hello all,
For ages I've wanted to do a bodyshell as a tribute to the Ford Mustang from the classic film Bullitt. I can't seem to find a suitable shell as a starting point though. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks
At the end of the day individuality is king. Wouldn't go for pink myself but if we all had the same shell in the same colour scheme it would be rather dull to say the least. Looks a nice tidy job. kudos
You sir shall be missed. Hope you come back to it sometime. Cheers for all the helpful posts and advice. Hope you and your lad enjoy the off road
This has stopped me ordering rims from there before. Heard this from a few people. I go HPI for my rims. More expensive I know but you do get what you pay for
Nice looking choice of rims. Tyres- any of the T drift copies should be fine. Far as I know there's not much difference between the tread patterns as they'll get worn away with a few uses. More the hardness of the compound thats important and all t drifts should be the same in that respect
Depends on how far from being flush the wheels are and the difference between the hexes you have and the new ones. Basically I got some because with my current shell even 9mm offset wheels were still a little hidden under the arches so I got some slightly thicker hexes to push them out a little more. I think most people use spacers but I went for these. Bit pricey I know. Ask around and see what people suggest. No shortage of advice on here and at the end of the day its all about what works for you
No worries bud. Don't worry I dare say we're all still learning. There's always something new to learn about with this hobby This is a link to some thicker hexes: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RC-1-10-EP-Nitro-Car-12mm-hex-7mm-thick-Alloy-Locking-Lock-Wheel-Adapters-Nuts-S-/200715125456?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item2ebb8dc2d0
His ebay shop has other thicknesses too so if you do go for some measure which ones will work best first. Don't forget to check the thickness of your current ones too.
There's a seller or ebay that sells hex fittings in various thickness larger than standard that you can use instead of spacers if you want. Can find a link if you want. They're still 12 mm so will fit usual wheels but will push em out a bit more.
Like the sound of orange and black love it on my Lexus IS-F. Should look good on the supra too. I've been tempted by shells on those Jap websites but always hesitated about the customs and delivery time.
