Awesome! You thinking about timing? Many cheap options around nowadays from using a webcam right to a mylaps system (which is actually incredibly expensive). If it was me I'd at least think of installing an i-laps or robitronics infrared system. Lee.

Do you use timing software with your sets fella? I've just literally yesterday looked into using pc lap counter with a webcam motion detector program called webcam zone trigger with my Micro Scalextric set, it's gotten me really hooked and it works absolutely perfectly. PC lap counter works great with digital sets, and supports most digital hardware. Only viable options for micro sets are the webcam or infrared bridge. Both bits of software are demo versions at mo, I'm planning on buying full versions soon, more track, some more cars and a netbook so I can use it all in lounge downstairs cos my bedroom is absolutely tiny! Or the general nitro section. That said, I really wouldn't recommend you put a K&N style filter on a nitro engine, it doesn't filter out fine dust and it WILL ruin your engine. Stick to a standard air filter and you won't kill it. Lee.

Because you should know better. HPI won't ever repair or replace an engine that has suffered damage from running without or with a sub standard air filter. They're cheap anyway, why didn't you just replace it? Yes I know HPI should have got it right in the first place but if you noticed the air filter foam was too short then why did you run it? Just my 2 pence. As for the OP, it is obviously HPI's error and I hope they replace the parts for you. Lee.

Pullstart every time. Not only is it easier owing to the fact you don't have to lug an extra thing around or charge an extra battery, with a pullstart you can feel what the engine is doing and you don't run the risk of damaging the engine if it floods. Lee.
