  1. Isnt that space there for the rear wing/front of the shell to go through (depending on which tower you mean)
  2. Eurgh, wire snapped again but halfway along its length! Replaced with servo wire and tested the switch whilst I was there... Discovered an intermittent fault with that too. New switches on order might as well have spares. Tempted to go back to my nice 27mhz system, at least that never gave me any problems!
  3. Mind if I join you guys sometime? I live in Suffolk when I'm not at uni in Nottingham
  4. Don't worry, i just realised after looking at my car that im stupid haha. Stick to your plan and ignore me!
  5. Well seeing as I don't launch off massive jumps yet, these can tide me by til the new super beefy ones come out I was mainly concerned about my diff casings, I can always run my original towers up against the virus ones for strength
  6. This is designed for the xerun series of ESCs using 4 16v 330uf capacitors http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hobbywing-Super-Capacitors-4-Module-Xerun-Series-Car-ESC-MC263-/320770239198 Although that would only be suitable up to 4s, I can make mine suitable for 6s by using 25v capacitors instead. The Castle one is for up to 12s so has 50v capable caps and 880 uf per cap I think i will go for 3 25v 1000uf, should be plenty although my brushed rally car does use 2 25v 4700uf caps with no problems.... hmmmm
  7. I've got an EZrun 150. I have read up about it, i guess if i copythe spec of Castles bank for the moment, that should be a safe start. I mainly just want to help my batteries along really!
  8. Perhaps the other center diff mounting could be replaced with a new one that supports the motor? Would look nice and tidy thats for sure!
  9. Ordered a bunch of parts for my Hyper 7, can't wait to get using it
  10. My Hobbywing has 3 too, just I guess a few extra cant hurt
  11. Oh really, whats different? Surely any cable would have all the connections functioning? Found the download now, weirdly i couldnt not find it last time i looked!
  12. Where is the VRC program? I couldnt find it As for the cable...isnt it just a standard micro usb one? Same as what you use for charging?
  13. Ahh this is slightly different mate this is so the ESC can get near instant power to the motor rather than filtering out RX noise/helping when the servo sucks alot of juice! I run one of those caps anyway, seeing as they are so quick and easy to make/fit
  14. Im not sure which hyper mine is to be honest, its pretty bog standard looking really, not a special model
  15. After building a capacitor bank for my brushed 1/10 rally car, I really noticed a rather large difference in acceleration/punch and decreased battery temperature (this was before i went lipo, although acceleration is still improved regardless). Now I was wondering if anybody was using a cap bank with their larger 1/8 cars to any useful effect? I know Castle make a bank and they claim it improves punch and gives the lipos a bit of an easier life but its
  16. Ahhh thats a shame about them being plastic! Should have noticed that really haha I have seen the cheap alloy ones, what are they like? I assumed they would just be cheese metal and the threads would fall apart from the flex I have been wondering about making a top plate that goes from the front diff to the rear diff, joining all 3 diffs togther and hopefully stiffening everything up suffiecinetly. Might be worth me making some cardboard mockups ready for making them out of ally plate (i have some lovely 4mm carbon fibre sheet sitting next to me too hmmmm.... )
  17. Some nice mods there! So what exactly can be used from the virus on the hyper 7? It all looks to be near enough the same! I wonder if these would be any better than the current supports that pop off? Certainly seems cheap enough to find out.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ansmann-Virus-Front-Rear-Reinforced-Rod-115000252-/160638033749?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item2566c5df55
  18. Haha, yes that could work I guess! And its cheap which is always a bonus
  19. Mine is nearly identical I hadn't seen that car before! Unfortunately it will be at least a month before can make anything as I am going in for surgery on Saturday Regarding your issue, have you considered getting a support made for the rear end of your motor, this would take some of the strain off the motor mount and the actual motor itself
  20. Ha ha, of course! How did i miss that, i had been reading about the poles but didnt actually grasp what was wrong with my number before!
  21. Cheers Neil. I was told it was a 3 pole, what difference will that make exactly? I don't intend to mix capacities I have been running the car on 2s, and although not lighting fast, its still pretty nippy and seeing as I am a begginer still really, it is better for me to have something slower rather than blazing fast and smashing the thing up Can't wait to get my mits on some 4s packs though, should be awesome fun!
  22. I can make either, although I was going to do a redesigned version of the centre diff one that I have now. I have the 2d design files ready from when I was gong to make one but jakes came along at a good price so i took it
  23. Thanks for your help chap, i had hoped that would be ok Not meaning to sound asey but the question was in the text, so it was pretty obvious if you had actually read it all. I have already said that they are 2s cells, and that I know it won't be fast, its simply a get me by until I can afford a couple of 4s packs. All I wanted to know was if running parrallel would allow me to use my current packs, the other info was there to support the question rather than doing what many other people do on here and not give any info at all!
