  1. seeing songs like bohemian rhapsody played on such a little instrument is what made me want to learn the uke. that and picking up girls with my 'amazing' musical talents in summer..
  2. I love playing the ukulele! They're really underrated and laughed at but they are pretty awesome instruments, want to play this one day
  3. Been playing for about 6/7 years now, not bad at it, never took grades and stuff though (silly blackberry quality) Left to right: Generic Strat, pretty awful guitar. Epiphone SG Special (cheapo sg woop) love this thing, plays power chords and heavy stuff really well. Hohner Acoustic, learnt to play on it, restringed it loads, neck once snapped and has been epoxy'd back together, holes in the body everywhere but it sounds magnificent. Haven't got much amp wise, just borrow school's vox or marshall when needed. also keen ukulele player, looking to get a banjo soon aswell
  4. Ive got the Astromaster 76, nice little beginners scope. Didnt go for the bigger arperture because i didnt have the money at the time but mine is wonderful, lovely clear viewing of jupiter from stock, mine needs collimating and could probably benefit with a few new lenses but its brilliant for the price Edit: this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Celestron-31035-Astromaster-Reflector-Telescope/dp/B000MLL6QY/ref=sr_1_10?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1359740936&sr=1-10
  5. Looks great, for some reason I haven't been able to see the moon from my front garden for a while now, probably just the moon cycle. Saw it the other night so hoping to get a good night viewing when this snow clears up. Found a little cheap refractor at the grandparents the other night, should provide some giggles got a little barlow lens aswell
  6. Looks good, had a poke around and found a UK version http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_forecast_irsat.html Looks like pretty bad cloud from now until the weekend:( ah well, hope for nice skies later
  7. Yeah Saturn's next on the list! Is there a website that shows cloud cover? Looking for a good night to stay out a while
  8. Had really clear skies.. for about 30 mins Saw Jupiter and it's moons in good detail, lined it up for a pic, went to set the camera up and a huge sheet of cloud came over! But hey, wouldn't be as fun if we had clear skies all the time
  9. Looked outside, super clear night! Orion's outside so I'm gonna do some star hopping with some apps on my iphone
  10. Nope not yet:( been cloudy and rainy for me, not had a chance to get out and test it those pics are looking good! good job
  11. New scope arrived! Got the celestron 76eq, very nice build, feels very solid and the mount is nice and heavy. Yet to test it but hoping for a nice clear sky tonight. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Celestron-31035-Astromaster-76EQ/dp/B000MLL6QY
  12. how about something like this to view the image back on? it's pricey but completely awesome http://geeknizer.com/diy-build-google-glass/
  13. Yeah I think I'm gonna order the 76 dob tomorrow, and an adapter for my xbox cam and a better tripod, would rather spend less to begin with than buy an expensive one and then give up the hobby lol
  14. I've got a little predicament, should I get the mini 76 dob? I've heard mixed reviews and would like something just to get started in taking pictures with webcams etc. or should I save up for a little while and get the heritage 130p? cheers
  15. Either FLO or Ebay if I can pick up a good deal. I've signed up to SGL, same name on there as here
  16. Pics are looking good mate, well done! I think I may buy the 130p dobsonian soon with some Christmas money
  17. Yeah, when I got it up on my pc I was shocked I actually got a decent picture. can you recommend a cheap but decent tripod? EDIT: nvm, ordered one thanks
  18. Turned on Stellarium to find out Jupiter was right outside, got the camera out and took a few pictures and this was one of the best. Shot on 200 ISO, bad quality and without a tripod but that's jupiter!
  19. alright mate, will do you think this will be a good starting scope? http://www.astronomycentre.co.uk/Celestron_Newtonian_Telescope_AstroMaster_114_EQ_p/c31042.htm
  20. Thanks, yeh I was using 800 ISO, will try it on 200 and 400 tonight. Ordered one of those xbox cameras too, will give that a go when it arrives
  21. Thanks for the reply, regarding webcams, my webcam at the moment set me back abit when I bought it so I don't really trust myself to take it apart etc. I was looking at this: http://www.logitech....am-c310?crid=34 and wondered if 5MP would be decent enough to capture stars? Also, what ISO setting should I use? some websites have said a high one, some said a low one
