  1. Here's mine, more of a shelf queen than serious user, but have to admit its a total pleasure to own and run once in a while.I let the slash take all the hard work but the Losi out of the box is so much better specced.
  2. Pretty sure I sold my mint unused Monster beetle on here, from memory around
  3. Is it me or is the Axial linkage kit a total pig to work out from the instructions?

Think that's the route I'm gonna go,link lengths need to be modded anyway.Instructions are real sh**e

  4. Can hold my finger on the motor for quite a few seconds even though its hot,it also has a fan fitted, gearing should be ok went with what was recommended on here.
  5. Ok lowered the lvc and stuck a fresh battery in,started off fantastically well just running around a car park then the performance dropped off and it started to cog badly within seconds before coming to a halt,I then changed the battery for a fresh one just in case it was a low battery, same problem instantly, however when I lifted the car off the floor it revved up ok,as soon as placed back on the floor nothing. However when i removed the body again i noticed the fan on the ESC had packed up,am I right in thinking I've gotta dud?
  6. Just fitted my super swampers onto my Gearhead ENK wheels, will start with the suspension and linkage upgrade kit tomorrow.
  7. Would love one but again not at that price, would rather try and pick up an original for a bit less if possible as that would be more nostalgic for me.
  8. I run mine on a 2s Lipo,6000mah,gives it 40 minute run times and lots of punch when you want it.Never used the supplied battery to be honest but should do the job.
  9. I've got the son uva digga, running the blue lights with wheelie bar and anodised wheelie bar wheels, good fun and nothing else needed just a decent quality battery as usual.
  10. Off for a few days tomorrow, which RC to take? Monster jam or slash 4x4?

  12. I've got the program card, currently using Turnigy Nanotech 6000mah 65-130c batteries, what should I set the lvc at?
  13. It's a few months old but this is the 1st time I've had it out, changed packs as I thought it maybe the problem and initially it seemed ok,but within a minute the problem returned.
  14. I need a few pointers really with this one,my slash 4x4 is running a wpsc8 ESC with a 4400kv motor on 2s,motor doesn't seem to be getting overly hot ie I can hold my fingers on it for a few seconds, the motor is fitted with a cooling fan also. The truck has been rebuilt and it has mod 1 gearing, the truck initially pulls away very quickly and is very fast,it will then drop off in power before totally losing all power, steering continues to work perfectly, occasionally the power will then come back on and it will take off like a scalded cat before doing the same again.
  15. These are going on my scx10 Cherokee build, these aren't bead locks but they look like it,so out with the black glue and stick the tyres on.
  16. Been waiting nearly a month for these, really pleased they're here now and look worth the wait to me.Best crack on with the rest of the build now eh.
  17. Something else I didn't know I needed lol.
  18. A long long time ago I bought a box of broken up rc car parts that comprised of a an early Sandrover and a bunch of not very good electrics, also in this box was a chassis from a Roughrider ,this was the car that started the whole thing for me. That very tatty ,old ,badly painted car started my involvement with rc cars over 30 years ago,and although it was ultra unreliable with wayward electrics and a run time of 5-10mins max ,I loved it,and would run home from school every night to get my short fix before having to stick my one battery on a slow charge for the next nights fun.inbetween I would strip and rebuild the car trying to make it reliable and improve it,refill the leaking shocks and in doing so gain a basis of a mechanical knowlege. Unfortunately that car proved to be so temperamental that I persuaded my mum to loan ,e the money to buy a new Tamiya lancia and the rough rider was swapped for something or other and missed ever since.... Roll on 30 years and I wandered into work yesterday with a bit of a black cloud over me ,as the local Costas only had decaf for my morning cappuccino ,and its 1st world problems like these that can set you up for a bad day, that was until a colleague said to me "here you'll like this" and produced a picture on his phone of a little red Roughrider. My 1st question was ,whose is that? The answer was his and he'd been bought it from a big model shop in Eltham sarf London when he was a kid,my next question was, what you doing with it? To which he replied I've just dropped it off to martyn to put onto eBay as they're worth a few quid apparently. After I'd explained to him that he was a **** and threatened him with violence for not telling me about this before, and more importantly to letting someone else stick it on eBay before I'd had a chance of buying it. Anyway it was dropped off to work later in the morning and I had a chance to handle it in person,it was coated in a thick layer of dust from where it had sat idle in a loft for the past 30 years, the bodyshell requires some therapy and one of the front suspension uprights had been glued with araldite...but none of this matters because this is my childhood sat on my desk and I had to have it! This Roughrider is so original right down to all the electrics including the little thermal overload switch with the red pop out button and the original period Acoms radio gear, the tyres are all original with loads of tread but a bit hard and perished, a few loose bolts here and there but overall ageing better than me. So after a few sweaty hours where I wondered if the price for this grail was going to be sensible a deal was struck and I now bought back a piece of my youth I'd regretted mislaying years ago,I'm one happy bunny! In case your wondering what the plans are,it certainly isn't to dust it and put it on eBay or anywhere else for sale, this is a keeper and will be after a full restoration, joining my re sandscorcher on its own display shelf in my front room, where i will be able to look at it every day and fondly reminisce about a more innocent period of life.Obviously getting it last night I started to do a bit of research and it actually appears to be a Mk1 version with the screw in spring holders on the front uprights and remains of a black bumper underneath the chassis, speaking of uprights if anyone has any Roughrider parts they want to sell please let me know as I will be needing a few odds and ends when I start the restoration shortly. Onto the important bit now,pictures!....admittedly poor quality camera phone pics, but you'll get the gist of it I'm sure...
  19. Really pleased bought an original rough rider,my very 1st rc car and the one that started the journey up till now..Let the restoration begin.

  20. What would a slightly rough but all there Tamiya Rough rider be worth, one owner from new, needs a front suspension mount and the shell may need replacing?

  21. Got a high torque in one of my Scx10's ,seems reasonably powerful but really lacks speed, will be sticking with Savox in the future.
