  1. 54 years old, retired from work when she was 38 and has literally been to hell and back. To buy this thing is just an inspiration to herself to keep going. Ex 7.5t and van driver. Where I got my love of driving from. She's bought it for a drive to Italy next year, 5 people, 3 year old nephew and mums mobility scooter. Giving her the time to get it running sweet over the next 10 months. LPG is on the cards too.
  2. centre diff, diff lock and 4WD are selectable, RWD is standard running mode. As soon as you go near the throttle over a 1/4 from a standstill, the rear wheels light up.
  3. but I will check just to make sure. Got a few bits to do on it like a loose front bumper etc and figuring out what all the buttons do. Even has 2 remotes in the back for the passengers to control the climate control on one and the multimedia on the other. Even got a powered sliding door so you push a button and it opens. All 360 degrees captain's chairs too.
  4. nope, 17 inch all round. Just looks a bit dodgy in the pic.
  5. the AuTech Nismo version is 300 bhp and this one has the Nismo kit and exhaust........once the problems are sorted, its needs a dyno run as I'm reckoning its the 300bhp version. Had a go with a 320i BMW down the A1 yesterday, he was infront doing around 100, he moved over, double kickdown and just left him behind as he tried to keep up. Supposed to have a 180 kph limiter but it sailed past that...........bearing in mind that it weighs 2.2 tons.
  6. Just thought id show off my mums new motor. being disabled, she wanted a motor she could put her mobility scooter in but different from the standard disability vehicles, just so happens that this vehicle is basically a Nissan 350Z with an MPV body on it. 3.5 V6 petrol with a detuned Z engine but still 240bhp as standard. I'm proud of mum for buying this, it ain't for the faint hearted this thing. Just a shame we didn't spot the dodgy brakes over a certain speed, corroded discs so its booked in to get all new discs and pads plus the track rod ends. Its also a 5 speed auto with tiptronic and 4x4.
  7. id suggest going LiPo as the esc has a cut off for it. Runs longer and takes less time to charge also, around 45-60 mins compared to at least 4 hours for a nimh. Kids want things there and then so I think its a good way to go. Lipo's are around the same price as a nimh to be honest. Benefit of lipo too is that the chargers will charge all sorts of batteries, ive charged my battery off my Chevy pick up a few times with mine. Look at an IMax B6 AC, fairly cheap and will cover all bases.
  8. MSC, servo and resistor will have to come out then you just fit an ESC. Saves weight and brings it up to the 21st century. A ballrace kit would also help it for efficiency if it has the old plastic/brass bushings and being old, would benefit from it too.
  9. I had the 120a version of that esc, its a Hobbywing EzRun/XeRun clone so have a butch for the instructions. Keep an eye on temps and the wiring. Mine burnt out on its second run because of a loose slug of solder in the case so check if it rattles.
  10. Yokomo are like any Japanese highly strung drift car. They are fragile for use on a track. A TT02 with TT01 diffs on the other hand is the equivalent of a juggernaut in terms of reliability and durability. Always loved my TT01's for parts support and tuning to literally run on any surface. Go for a TT, you wont be disappointed.
  11. BL Cage can take a 3674 2650kv sized motor, had one in my XT2E which is basically the same car/chassis. 3674 2650kv Leopard motor will do you a treat.
  12. are you using a separate psu to power the charger? If yes, it will have an AC input from the mains, so you could just run a figure of 8 or an IEC plug into the case and have a 4mm banana plug patch panel for 12v so you wouldn't even need a switch really, just swap the connection over.
  13. got an E-Scooter that runs 48v, 1600w motor and controller max draw of 60a. Seen the 12Ah and 16Ah Multistar packs from Hobbyking, anyone used them yet? My current setup is 14s comprising of 2 x 6s and a 2s in series to get the voltage up to a max of 58.8v but I'm maxing 5.5Ah which is half the standard SLA amperage at 12Ah. Ive got 2 x 3s to rig up in series then parallel to get 11Ah which is only an amp off but going from this setup to the SLA's when I puffed a 2s is like night and day, LiPo is instant throttle response, front lifts on the gas, SLA's is a more controlled burn. Sorry for waffling but I know there are a few HV rollers on here to give me advice and for config idea's. Any advice is much appreciated. Plus its dropped the weight by 15kg.
  14. I did bend a CVD, don't know how as I have never jumped it. Blowtorch and some 10w40 might be on the cards.
  15. id love to up the motor in the escooter, its 1600w, haven't pulled it out to see what Kv it is. Does 30mph carrying its weight and my 16st frame so its plenty quick enough and the front end lifts on a touch of the throttle but I could imagine a 2028 or bigger in there........
  16. try tightening the servo saver, mine does that and that was BNIB.
  17. Noj, you got a fat motor for my e-scooter?
  18. you could, just make sure you have enough axle showing. Low profile serrated nuts are available or flip the locknut so the nylon goes on first.
  19. you could, just need to see how much of the axle is showing to nut the wheels up. You can get low profile wheel nuts if need be or flip the locking nut so the nylon goes on first.
  20. contact RC wheels are standard offset of 0mm so you might have to fit spacers to fill the arches.
  21. I wouldn't, it could possibly go boom without the LVC on. Can unplug the motor, take the wheels off and put fly leads to the motor after you have discharged it to 3v per cell, can bung the battery away from everything then.
  22. well I just thought, the discharge will only let the cells get to their minimum so they can charge again from effectively flat. Could use a brushed motor to wind it down to 0? Nimh's discharge down to 0.9v per cell but I don't know if its a good idea as ive never discharged a lipo fully.
  23. like OHO said, discharge it. Can use a car light bulb across the terminals or use the discharge function on your charger then dunk it in heavily salted water.
  24. every manufacturer has their own idea on scale. You could get something like a Tamiya Grasshopper or Neo Scorcher that has a 380 motor mount and a standard servo mount so you could use your electronics until you buy a true 1:10 scale esc and motor (60a esc and a 540 motor)
