  5. Nice. 👍 Waiting for it to stop raining here so that I can paint my shells!!! Ian...
  6. Welcome to the forum!!! 👌 My Hyper 7 was upgraded about 7 years ago and then put away to hibernate so most of the places I bought stuff from are long gone! However my main source was always eBay and there are quote a few good sellers on there, although a couple are taking an extended holiday post Brexit it seems! rc-willpower was one of my main Hong Kong sellers that I used to use for the more obscure parts, but their eBay shop died off in Jan/Feb ish for Hyper. Their site is still there though: http://www.rc-willpower.com/ redline-rc, make-it-build-it are a couple of my favourite sellers. In terms of what to upgrade, I would thrash it and see what breaks and aim to upgrade what looks to be an unreasonable failure. Shock towers and hubs are good starting points though. In the end my Hyper was a shelf queen that is just getting used for what she was designed for now. 😛 Ian...
  7. Oh and I suspect the shock repair has a 50% chance of working.... 🙄 Ian....
  8. Bit of work on the ST and the 7 yesterday and today. The ST I will save for later, but the 7 is fixed again 🙂 Added in some body clip holders for fun... New batteries all charged an ready to bash once it stops hailing/raining/Sun/wind in a repeating cycle... Ian...
  9. I know another Hyper 7 you can pillage parts from. 😉 Ian...
  10. So back onto FrankenSTein... Similar to the Hyper 7 conversion I started to make the tray for the ESC: I was just getting ready to drill the mounting holes for the carbon sheet to the battery tray when somebody got in the way with an emergency sleep Ah well I am to much of a wuss to move him, so will continue tomorrow! Ian...
  11. Started to get the ST conversion to the end point by making the ESC mount (The holes are for the ESC)... Ian...
  12. Yup, surprised I didn't get my fingers stuck to my ears when I did it! Ian...
  13. That is top of my list. Interestingly the grub screw came out easily enough! 😆 Ian...
  14. Stuck to the shaft. Not entirely sure how or why as of yet (Threadlock/rust?), but at least it is off. 🙂 Ian...
  15. 👍 Yeah I was thinking of doing similar if after a clean up it is still a tight fit. Ian...
  16. Success! So with an extra pair of hands I was able to do a combination of loosen the motor mount screws as much as possible (Half a turn ish), and use the motor mount to lever the pinion up, then loosen the motor mount screws a bit more and rinse and repeat. Took a LOT of force to get off in the end, and I am still not overly sure what has caused it to get so stuck. Ah well, it is off now! Cheers for the advice all! 🙂 Ian...
  17. (I freed the pinion from my motor with brute force) Ian...
  18. The standard steering knuckles are like glass, smashed so many of them before I switched to the CNC ones. 🤣 Ian...
  19. Back together But not for long 😉 (Needed to make a copy of my carbon ESC mount for my ST. In....
  20. Two more "Hyper Killers" (Because it is obviously not my driving!!) 😇 Ian...
  21. A box of goodies... And last but not least.... Ian...
  22. Some 'high' quality tyre glue, and hopefully a good quality butane soldering iron. 😁 Ian...
  23. I would tend to agree with you on this, but as I can't get spares to replace them it is either this or replace them. 😪 Any suggestions for Big Bore 1/8th shocks that are easily (ish) available? Ian...
  24. Cleaned the shock of Hyper 7 that I broke at the weekend ready for gluing tomorrow (Hopefully) Ian...
  25. Unfortunately the motor mount doesn't slide out or project beyond the diameter of the motor. However I can possibly slide a couple of metal beams under the slides of the mount to extend its width and then position it in a vice to heat and tap the motor down out of the pinion. Will know on Sunday when I can head to my my parent's workshop for an extra pair of hands. (Can't order them off Amazon it seems 😛 ) Even if I had a pinion puller in this case it wouldn't work as the pinion is right up against the mount unfortunately. In the end I suspect heat and a hammer will be the solution! 😁 Ian...
