What do people think of HPI Mini Recon

Just to go back to the original question I have a mini recon and love it! Its my favorite beach car, easy to get bits for, rc18t wheels fit when the stock ones destroy them self's, no good on long grass, but bmx track is perfect! Strong, I have broken the odd shock tower however mine is bashed very hard, however it is small soabe mindfull where you want to run it! -
Took out the scout this morning with 4ws, and one thing became apparent, the rear servo needs to be a lot stronger lol! Think a couple of power hd's and an external bec to power them! However the new turning circle is insane!

I don't know about the losi, but I expect the losi is the better car, however for the money I think the scout is brilliant! A few simple mod's and its very capable, 4ws is easy with the scout as well, it comes down to personal choice I think, but I don't think you will be disappointed with the scout

Today I have refined the 4ws and tweeked the front steering to give better clearance!

started custom chassis today, I will end up with an rc18/recon hybrid by the end of it, need to work out how to do the steering but its getting there! pictures very soon! motor mount will be getting produced this coming week! then I can order the two brushless set up!

quality, I may look at those wheels for the recon, they look nice and wide!

I have a mini recon on 2s Lipo's but any Lipo designed for 1/10th would be too big for a recon! Way too big cause they is only 1/18 My recon is sitting next to my firestorm so you get the idea I like the idea of a wild dagger , would be perfect!

So that means that with recon axles and pin's all rc18t wheels will fit!

I use a stock tamiya silver can in my scout, with stock gearing and its loads quicker but still able to crawl slowly as well

Yo dude, I know its a touch smaller, but I have the micro crawler, a few simple mods and its a brilliant little thing for around the house! And its my favorite beech toy! However it didn't stay very standard for long! I have moded motor, custom shock mounts, custom motor mount, shortened front end and extended rear to suit the shell! Big tyres and alloy wheels, high power servo! Here is some picture! -

So recon ones are longer! I recon it will still do the trick! Might be worth trying a recon one in an ion! Jtheg do you want to send me your address ill pop one in the post I have a few spare! Also ill measure the dog bone later to compare

I have a spektrum dx3 transmitter, and I want to get some more receivers however my radio is dsm and the orange rx's from hobbyking are dsm2 is there any were else to get cheap rx's from? Or can I upgrade my dx3 to dsm2? Cheers for any help

Yes mate I am petty sure that's what they are! I have had them years, but are about that! I did have to drill the wheels for the extended nut though!
