  1. Nice little result with that mini, I am tempted to do the old indoor one I have here just seems a shame to use it outside lol how's the ground clearance ?
  2. Have a look for some http://www.ritdye.com/, this stuff works well on plastic i have used it a lot on some baja arms, but if you do use it do everything you want at once so the colour is the same it can be a little tricky to match different batches when you do them.
  3. Thanks, yeah it was a blast I really need to get some 3s batteries, only had one bit of damage a little stone got caught up in the centre diff housing and wore a groove in the casing it seems ok but I will order another one up so next service I can change it.
  4. So i went up to the Lincs summer bash and had a blast, took my DRX up with me and got a few photos, Thoughts or comments welcome .
  5. I have a couple of these and they work pretty well and are as tough as old boots http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/handtools-storage-workwear/tool-storage-workbenches/tool-storage/-brand-JCB/-producttype-tool_bags/JCB-610mm-Soft-Sided-Tool-Bag-11247787
  6. So Hopefully this is the right section If not could someone move it please So i have wanted a On-Road car/basher for ages for use when its to wet to off road as everywhere round here takes a good while to dry out. I started looking around for something and narrowed it down to the DRX, Hpi Sprint2 flux or one of a few Tamiya Tc's, i chose the DRX for a few reasons i already own one and love how it drives and handles also i love the larger scale. So i ordered myself a Kyosho DRX VE, two sets of stock Kyosho wheels and 4 Pro-Line Road Rage tyres, ( thanks for the great service Modelsport! ) The car came on Friday so when i got home from work i glued the wheels ( christ i'd forgot how much i hate that ) and fitted them up, Next i cleaned and and taped up the underside of the chassis with some Gorilla Tape as its dam sticky and lasts a good while, next i sat the shell as low as i thought was needed and also added some preload to the shocks I thought id leave it at that and go from there on the set up to see what needed changing etc. I took it for its first run today and it was a blast seemed pretty planted gripped very well pretty hard to get the back end out, the tyres need some better foams as the sidewalls are pretty soft, few pics below from today and a vid excuse the badly shot video i hardly use my DSLR for video lol. Thanks for taking the time to read this, any thoughts and comments welcome
  7. So i put three packs at pretty much full throttle through them tyres about hour and a half in total i guess, So they grip really well pretty hard to get the back end out, bad points are the sidewalls flex to much imo so i guess better foams will help so i will run this set into the ground and change foams on the next set but other than the crappy sidewalls they are pretty decent, they are showing signs of wear on the edges but nothing excessive.
  8. How's the DRX going? I just picked up a second one this week to set up for Tarmac usage got a set of those Proline Road Rage tyres and another set of wheels, forgot how much of a pita sticking the tyres on was lol going to take it out for its first run tomorrow, on a side note the evo shell should be out in four weeks yay !
  9. Yeah I did think about a buggy but I have a losi scte and a hpi Baja for mucking about offroad and I hardly run anything in the wet lol maybe I shall have a better look at the buggys then
  10. So I was giving my rc collection a good clean and going over yesterday after a bash and noticed I don't actually have anything to use on road and when the winter comes everywhere round here turns into a mud bath and i hate running my gear in the wet, so the closest I have is my Kyosho drx ve but she eats tyres on Tarmac if I give it some on the throttle, i also have an old Tamiya TA05 kicking about that i got in a trade but dont know if it would be worth using/doing up so I was thinking I'd sort myself out something to use. The cars I have been looking at are a Kyosho Inferno GT2 ve anyone have any experience of this one? a HPI Sprint 2 or maybe a second Kyosho drx ve and set that up for road use or is there something else I should be looking at? ( Insert random rc car name here), I've got a budget of about 500 quid I have radio gear and a fair few lipos. So thoughts/comments welcome folks, thanks for reading. Karl

  13. If you're after a sand rail google Roofchopper he makes some fantastic ones also does a kit you can weld yourself
  14. I've got a drx ve Which shares a lot of parts with the buggy and parts are easy enough to get also getting stuff from the usa is simple enough. they are also pretty tough imo.
  15. Bit of a long shot but does anyone have a Team Orion Vortex Digital Setting Box for R Series they no longer want Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  16. Got a HPI E firestorm flux with a lot of spares its in pretty good condition if your interested I can mail you some photos.
  17. Yeah my first attempt at underbody protector has only lasted a few months so I will have to look into something better for it, you'll have to let me know how those tyres perform not tried them yet I am on my last set of the stock ones I picked up four sets cheap of the original wheels/tyres from eBay just after I got the DRX
  18. Yeah that was a nice result I was half tempted to get it for spares but touch wood other than tyres I've hardly broke anything, it's worth doing the underbody mods it really keeps the crap out, also nylocs on the wheels are handy
  19. Ah did you get the one that was on eBay?
  20. So been a little while since I updated this thread sorry about that! So I've been running this a couple of times a week since I got it and I love it clearly my fav fast rc I own :-D. So I've changed the diff oil to 5k for all three diffs and added the extra idea gears Ive put about 15 packs through it since I figured I'd end up changing the oil and try different combos but so far I enjoy it as it is so unless summin breaks it will stay that way. As for durability it seems to be doing fine I have broke one stub axle but I did clip a log at full tilt lol and I'm on my third set of tyres but its been used over multiple surfaces and I am rather throttle happy :-D So far the shell is holding up I am glad I taped and glued the inside I think it has saved it a great deal all I've done so far is split the spoiler a little, it's got a few scratches and rubs but that's to be expected, I think I will order up some bearings for the hubs as I think they will need doing soon they are not as smooth as they once had been. Also I need to improve the filth guard a little as it does collect grass rather well lol
  21. Here's my 8 month old lab Cobie :-D
  22. I came across this the other day, seems to work well plenty of space for tools/spares and the bag holds its shape so nowt gets squashed, so far it suits what i need it for as my local bash spot is a good ten min walk from the carpark http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/handtools-storage-workwear/tool-storage-workbenches/tool-storage/-brand-JCB/-producttype-tool_bags/JCB-610mm-Soft-Sided-Tool-Bag-11247787
  23. Hi folks i am after a little advice, so long ago i got a firestorm flux which i have been letting a mate use as he he cant afford his own rc car, anyways he gave it my back yesterday and it would seem the servo horn is missing and the linkage down to the steering arms now for the life of me i can't remember what was there or what it even looked like so i am at a loss of what to replace it with, id also love to know what he did with the old one when i asked he said it just fell off when he was using it lol
