  1. Well billy out of the ones I own I prefer the DRX but there's plenty of others out there the tamiya xv01 is also great I just prefer the size of the DRX
  2. I never ran the adaptors in mine just the normal wheels with slicks, as for parts never had any trouble eBay always been good if not plenty of places especially in USA or Asia
  3. That was at the lincs summer bash last year if I remember correctly, it's a massive off road centre near Peterbourgh

    Kyosho DRX VE?

Spares are easy enough to get online from eBay or Hong Kong, longest I had to wait was a week for some hubs, and yeah they do collect rocks pretty well I added some bits to mine to offer more protection it made the world of difference I hardly get anything in there now just some dust which is nothing really, there's a link to my thread showing what I did and some photos from a bash where the shell took a lot of abuse and no damage thanks to the reinforcing. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/161316-KarlP%27s-Kyosho-DRX-VE

    Kyosho DRX VE?

Glad you're enjoying them, one thing me that might be worth doing is swapping the 6mm serrated wheel nuts for some 6mm nylocs one of mine kept coming loose never did work out why by nylocs are cheap so was a good fix, also might be worth checking what the esc low voltage cut off is set at think my it was me to low from memory.

    Kyosho DRX VE?

It's worth reinforcing the body's on them MrPug before they get to knackered.

    Kyosho DRX VE?

The DRX VE is a fantastic car I have two of them now lol, it handles like a dream and is amazing to drive on 2s it's great fun and on 3s it's very good, it has a few little things that can be improved on to reduce shell damage and help protect it from crap but every car needs a little tweaking, I'd highly recommend the car but you are a little limited on body shells and they are not cheap, if you want another option the Tamiya XV-01 is also a great bet with a large choice in body shells and hop ups
  8. I think if it was well done and had a good range of info on it like Nitroholic said it would probably do alright it's always nice to have a good resource for your hobby. there are plenty of specific sites/forums for various classes/trucks in the rc world, never found one just for Rally based rc.
  9. The Kyosho DRX VE is a fantastic car, its the best handling car i've had to date ( i now have two of them lol ) it's took plenty of abuse so far but i do treat it like a rally car not like that tool and his review on UltimateRc's youtube channel, it needs a couple of bits adding to strengthen the drive train up but nothing expensive, if your down south anywhere and fancy a meet up your welcome to try mine out if you like, as for slapping in a big esc/motor and 6s i think it would ruin the car, its great on 2s and comes alive on 3s
  10. I don't mind traveling to where ever for the right event, would it be worth checking out any locations first to see if there's anywhere suitable? Also if there's any costs involved i am sure a few would chip in if it got the event off the ground.
  11. Hmm I'd have to finally sort a 1/10 one out as my current one is 1/9ish, certainly be interesting to do, where would you be thinking of holding it ?
  12. I'd definitely be game for something over here I assume it would be 1/10 based? Would you be thinking like the Czech rally events or a Rallycross type?
  13. One other thing to think about is spares, if you and your son both run the same buggy/sct etc it will keep your spares cost very sensible, be interesting to see what you get I'm after something similar myself.
  14. I can vouch for the Kyosho DRX i have two of them now and they are fantastic cars slightly larger in scale fantastic detail in the shells too, but it really is fantastic to drive I can't think of another car I'd rather drive for realistic handling and they are pretty tough i use mine twice a week and I've only broke one stub axle so far and that was me just being a tit and not slowing up on a sharp corner, I've had no trouble with getting parts for it worst case I got some bits from the states and it took a week, takes as long to get stuff from here if you can try and find one to use they really out perform the wr8 imo
  15. Fantastic looks like a nippy little bugger, is that the stock electrics? Also beautiful dog
  16. wow that looks great, nice work on that fella, i don't know if either of these will be any use to you, http://www.r2hobbies.com/rc-car-electronic-windscreen-wiper-system.html http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-10-Racer-Driver-Interior-Roll-Cage-Package-RC-Drift-Car-Road-BLUE-/110987598050?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item19d76058e2 you might be able to trim it down, and for wipers you want these! http://www.r2hobbies.com/rc-car-electronic-windscreen-wiper-system.html

    which one?

http://www.yeahracing.com/catalog/tamiya-xv01-c-29_55_346.html http://www.asiatees.com/article?Upcoming-GPM-aftermarket-parts-for-Tamiya---XV-01-PRO!%3F&id=173 Are some you can get, also they are releasing the XV-01 as a Touring Car so i expect some more will start to turn up, Tamiya also do various amounts of shiny stuff for it or grab the Pro kit and it comes with a fair few shiny things.

    which one?

Out of the two id go for the XV-01 i love mine and it handles like a dream but it can be a bit of a pain getting some brands of lipo into the battery tray as it loads from underneath the car and depending where the leads come out of your battery it can be a bit of a tight fit but thats the only downside i've found for it so far, as for hop ups a lot of people seem to replace the stock shock towers as they are a "weak" point although i have not broke the stock ones yet, i'll pm you a good build thread on the XV-01 so you can have a read and see what you think.
  19. yeah i gave it a quick go this afternoon and they were about 31
  20. Doh forgot to put in the rating my bad sorry, they are 6000 MaH, also i think losi rebadged a CC MMP esc and from a spot of googling i think the amps are 65A and 120A burst
  21. That's fantastic wish I'd had that as a kid!
  22. Ah glad you got the wheels sorted, you going to fitting much detailing to the shell?
  23. Hey folks I'm after some battery and wheel/tyre advice, I Picked up a very nice SCTE (thanks Noj) a while back and I'm looking to see what would be a suitable battery for it I have a few 2s turnigy nano techs 65-130c I run in my DRX VE would these be upto the job? the trucks currently running the stock motor and esc and what I believe is a 18t pinion, also the tyres are pretty worn and I'd like to replace them I mainly run on short grass and dusty/hard packed dirt, any advice welcome.
  24. Looks fantastic cant wait to see this painted, regarding your front wheels I found this build thread which might help I think page three is the one you want http://www.rctech.net/forum/micro-mini-scales/518743-losi-mini-sct-mod-build-thread-5.html
  25. I run these servos in pretty much all my rc cars they work great and so far have been holding up well, I prefer the higher torque ones myself I run these in all four of my rally cars. Also what car will it be going in? Do you also need it to be waterproof?
