  1. Scout or R1 chassis? Got the chance of a dirt cheap R1 chassis / cage. I currently have a scout just for playing on the beach. Always loved the R1 look and have heard you can build the scout onto the R1 chassis. Would it be an upgrade or downgrade in opinion?

Thanks Gaz . Well I took the punt. Full cage, tranny plate, battery plate and all hardware. Brand new, £15 delivered. Think it's from a kit.

Will do. Hopefully it's link length that's gonna be the only stumbling block. ?

  2. It will be fine. Might take a while but it will charge.
  3. Great.... MOT shake up starting in a month or 2. Big changes to the test and lots of new things included.

Ahh that’s not too bad then, still 22 years of diesel burning then for the landy, worst case scenario is run it on chip fat.....

hydrogen cell technology is the way forward, government can’t tax fresh air though so won’t be available just yet.

prius? Only electric car I can afford is Rc :whistling:

Just sat and read the new test rules for HGV's. What a farce. Most heavy haulage and recovery kit is currently MOT exempt for a reason, they don't fit in MOT test centres or test lanes but the clowns in charge now say they need to be tested. Interesting times ahead for us all. The new diesel car emissions thing is aimed at one thing, get them off the road and us into petrols which the rules change on in a year or so. The new rule for them will be tax rate set every year at emissions test result level of co2 not claimed figures. Hands in our pockets again.

All I can say is..... its a good job I know the local tester well....

A nice bottle of beer along with your payment goes a long way...

  4. The Peugeot head units aren't coded as such. They are matched to the ECU. You are correct though. Off the cd works, the radio should. Sound faulty.
  5. Sound s ike it may be a tx/Rx issue. What radio are you using. I had an emaxx that did the same until I changed the radio.
  6. Hi guys, looking for a sensored 540 combo somewhere around the 17.5 flavour. Cheers
  7. Right ok wrong stick there. I was thinking of stock gearing. Gonna try and find my spurs tonight.
  8. I couldn't find it either but just in case you knew the esc. Thanks anyways bud.
  9. Cheers bud. Out of curiosity, do you know if you can either turn down or take off the drag brake on the stock esc? It's an animal and I am waiting to rip a diff apart.
  10. Looking good John. What tooth count is that spur? I am considering a brushless set up , either 17.5 or 21.5 oh so I can still use it on the rocks over winter.
  11. Sweet. Ordered me some slightly longer shocks to start with and for some servos with more throw and speed.
  12. Hey John. Any more news on this. Still yet to run mine due to having the scout in bits and one job at a time hopefully getting it out either tonight or tomorrow.
  13. Sorry dude. Didn't mean to jack your thread. Ok no work till 6 so no opening till then. Expected a famous style plug, pleased with the deans though. Tyres are stiffer than expected and must replace the servo horn. Apart from that I am gonna try it as it is before ripping it to bits.
  14. Doing some nosing around and it would seem it's actually and rgt rock hammer rebranded as ftx. Biggest notable change is that the rgt comes with a proper esc and Rx as separates. Other than that l, looking the rock hammer vids on YouTube it seems quite capable. ?
  15. The power up programme is garbage in the UK. You can get a 2.4 system on eBay for about 20 bucks and just run the 2.5 until it dies and fit a picco or similar. The traxxas engines l, while very high revving and decent power output drop out of tune about ever 20 mins. You will also need a supply of glow plugs. They eat them.
  16. Thanks, that body mount would have to go, the yeti XL does my head in with not being able to remove the body completely. Have you dropped a diff out yet? I've seen pics of both plastic and alloy diffs. Was wondering what's in it.
  17. I've got a 3674 1300kv and and esc laying about. Hmmmmmm...,..,
  18. All your fault John. A yellow one is being delivered tomorrow. God I hate this hobby. ?
  19. They are definitely stock scout axles. Exactly the same in dimension as the ones on my scout. All the running gear is scout. The only difference is the chassis and link lengths. I have bad experiences with combined esc/Rx so this is a stumbling point with me. I am going to wait for a while to see how the axles hold up to what I assume is a 27t ish motor. I am going to guess the internals of the diff are the same. Does look good though. Wondering if I could mount the shell to a ladder chassis somehow but keep more wheel travel for crawling. Hmmm
  20. You aren't doing me any favours in keeping my cash you know........looking forward to the video. Finger over the button.
  21. I likey. On my list of Magnus. Currently waiting on a ladder chassis to covert the scout.
  22. Hi bud. How many runs etc on the 150a? How old. Can I get some more details. ?
