  1. looks like there are a number of us in and around the lincs/Peteborough area!
  2. I was hoping to be able to improve on it. Maybe just save some pennies for a better model.
  3. Anyone know if you can get replacement tracks and driving wheels for one of these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Remote-Control-M1A2-Abrams-Battle-Tank-RC-RTR-1-24-/220733478225?_trksid=p2047675.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D555001%26algo%3DPW.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D29%26meid%3D4153791865974537276%26pid%3D100010%26prg%3D1013%26rk%3D5%26sd%3D321038542252%26 had one for a while now, but the tracks are poo and the wheels that actually drive the tracks have lost most of the "teeth", so it is just sitting around doing nothing.
  4. No promises, but I wil try and get there too.
  5. Hi All, Managed to miss this thread - But I am not a million miles from you guys and have been to the BMX track a few times - http://youtu.be/cOAXZWjSQBo When are you going back - may make the 10 minute drive to meet up with you.
  6. Powerdirector 9 is the software I used, have recently upgraded to 10 but so far not seen enough to worry about using 10 over 9.

    snow mods

With the current weather I am thinking of making some snow chains for my SCX10
  8. was done with a HD camera and one of the keyfobs.
  9. Another way is to have more than 1 camera set up and then edit the remaining footage.
  10. Set of 4 road wheels for a 1/10th trailer build wanted... Really on a tight budget so just want a set of wheels and tyres for a boat trailer..... Not fussed about condition as long as usable. cheers
  11. Thanks - Lots of use. Now how the hell do I work out what props I need? One needs to rotate clockwise and the other anti-clockwise - how do I know/measure what the pitch is?
  12. Same here - as this is just a low budget project - ebay is your friend. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130748118547?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
  13. The Esc was a really cheap Fleabay (and I mean cheap!) I expect it will pop sooner or later, but by then I will either have given up on the whole thing - or will look at getting 2 escs and upgrading the motors. Can you recommend somewhere for boat parts ?
  14. For the moment I will be glad just to be able to steer it. I think any real speed will have to wait a bit until I can afford a couple of esc's the one I have is just a cheap one from china that has a very high amp capacity (or so they claim) didn't cost much so when it goes bang it will not be the end of the world. I am going to water cool it from the start so may be lucky.
  15. ESc and Rudder turned up today, so will be working on it this weekend. Anyone know what kind of torque the servo will need to handle for a rudder approx 95mm in length? Also what is the best way to run a rod out of the back to the rudder - the hole will need to be bigger than the rod to allow for lateral movement - how do I stop water coming in ? I was looking at some form of garter but cannot see anything suitable. thanks.

The only problem with the holes in the tub I I have not had is the exposed spur, but that may just be luck. Stones inbetween the steering servo and the side of the chassis are far more of an issue.

Comes with a 1300Mah NiMh 7.2v and mains charger woudl take a few hours to charge, but I would recomend a bigger capacity battery as that one will last less than 10 minutes of high speed running - I am currently running on 2s Comes Ready to Run with transmitter - plug in a battery and off it goes. Straight from the box I would recommend adjusting the ride height (4 screws on on each wheel that need to be tightened down to give more travel) Would then look to block the hole under the motor, as the brushes are exposed and the way the motor sits - dust and even the slightest moisture go straight up and cause problems. then block the holes under the battery.... I am looking putting a sheild across the whole bottom of the tub, probably the thinnest aluminium sheet I can find.

Well Done Nick, and thanks for spending the time getting the Forum back. Now I can have something to do at work again.....
  19. Nice truck and really well filmed - what camera do you use?

I bought this - originally expected to have to do some upgrades, but other than putting some thicker oil in the shocks and covering the holes in the bottom of the tub I am more than happy with it! http://www.modelsport.co.uk/carisma-m40s-audi-quattro-rallye-rtr/rc-car-products/40398
