  1. Hey Gaz, I will take the proline shocks if you still have them! Cheers
  2. Gorse Hill, Bristol BS16 4EG I believe it's here, it comes up if you Google it
  3. Nice man! It's looking sweet! I like the body lights, putting some in mine at the moment as for batteries....you probably want at least: 5000mAh 30C rating preferably more! With a high burst C rating as your ESC can do 600A burst. battery current capability = C X Capacity in A eg 5000mAh is 5A C = 30 So 5 X 30 = 150A constant the higher the C rating the higher the price is, I don't know your budget so I will let you decide
  4. Yeah the series option is only cheaper because you already have a 2s.... If you were to start from scratch it's cheaper to buy 1x4s than 2x2s generally and the 4s cells will be better matched and balanced. As faffy said though you don't need hard case, I have run mine for a long time without. I just wanted to 3D print some cases and piece of mind. Also If you can solder I would go to xt90 connectors as well, they can deal with a bit more and from my experience nicer generally than deans plugs.... Hopefully I haven't sparked a massive debate now haha
  5. Hobbyking for sure! If you are going to go down the running 2 X 2s series route this will work https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-5000mah-2s2p-40c-hardcase-pack-roar-approved-2.html It's the same discharge and capacity specs as your current one, the cost is fairly high as it's a hardcase (I 3D print my own haha, let me know if you need one ) I have been running this brand of batteries for a long time now I approve of the quality for the price These aren't very punchy though but that's ok for now just watch if they get hot! I run these https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-nano-tech-5000mah-3s-45-90c-lipo-pack-xt-90.html Makes my trophy truck wheely! Also don't go second hand!
  6. Yeah the battery is what is holding you back... The KV rating is basically how fast the motor spins per volt you put in bacically. I run a 3600kv motor for example with a 3s lipo which in theory will give me 50% more speed than a 2s In something that heavy and with a lower KV rating you definitely want at least 4s.... Maybe only go higher once you are used to it. Just had a look at your motor and ESC combo specs and it can take up to 5s so I think 4s is good for now. Chuck another 2s in series would be the least expensive way about it (as long as it has the same specs so one isn't working harder than the other) Keep it up though bro! Your rig is getting there, you won't regret it
  7. Hey Biggreenpants, your gearing will allow you to either go faster or have more torque but not both without upgrading unfortunately. If you go down on your pinion you get more torque but less speed. If you go up you get more speed but less torque and potentially a hot motor I would suggest running it for a full bash and seeing what the motor temps are like, if you can hold your hand on it you can go up some teeth on your pinion. Also what KV is your motor and what mAh and C rating does your battery have? these will be factors to concider as well Are you running 2s at the moment?
  8. I think you are going to struggle to find anything under £100 new. Also your rig is quite beefy so it's going to require some pulling power. Ezrun combos are a good place to look for bang for your buck though! : https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=397267 I know £150 is a lot more than your budget but that is the kind of thing you will want for the size model you are running. I recently bought a sensored combo for my axial yeti and can't believe the value for what I spent, a new world of power and control! feel free to correct me though anyone I have been out of the game for a while, I may be wrong! Faffy123's combo they are selling is ideal as well plenty of head room to go up in lipo cells if you want more speed
  9. I will probably not be able to make a meet up this weekend any more but I'm still keen to try to make the next time you guys are out. I did a few proper jumps with my axial for the first time the other day, it ran great! Never been brave enough to jump my RC's in the past haha
  10. Hi guys, I have come back into the hobby and want to meet up and find some better spots. I found your thread here and I am also based in Bristol, would it be cool if I joined you guys at some point? I'm running an axial yeti score on 3s at the moment so should just about keep up
  11. no worries and yeah I think they have improved the website which definitely need doing. on another note looking at all of the 2v parts and improved parts I wont be surprised if a S10 blast v2 range of rtr's are released soon. Alex
  12. yeah defo on the springs one of the best upgades i have done and its only
  13. You can also remove the gear box housing from the chassis an the top plate so it's easier to get at the assembly and when your done you can just bolt the whole back end back on Alex
  14. Well some times the best ideas are the best, often the case in the world of product design and those supports will help with reducing flex. As for the servo mount it should work but I recon if you hit a rock in the right place it will break, I would recommend finding something that sits more flush with the chassis like a plate of 2mm thick aluminium with counter sunk holes and give the edges a slight chamfer (sloped edge). But if you have good ground clearance and there aren't too many bumps on the surface you are running on it should work great as it is, keep it up . And the job lot of RC sounds good, that should keep you busy Alex Simplest ideas even :L
  15. Nice! And particularly good work on the motor mount you wouldn't know it's made of two mounts put together keep up the good work I would like to see this up and running. Alex
