  1. Another one arrived today, same situation. That seems very unlikely, but why wouldn’t they work with a simple 2ch futaba receiver? power hd tr4 booked for Monday, so at least the build can continue
  2. Just tried it with an R2106GF receiver. No signs of life either. /sigh
  3. Hello there. Has anyone any experience with Spektrum SX107 micro servos and Futaba Receivers? I picked one of these up the other day for my Ryft build, and when I plugged it in it wouldn't work. I returned it etc, and ordered a new one from a different supplier. That's arrived today, and the same thing, it appears to be DOA. Now that seems unlikely. The reciever (RS304SB-E) is in 'normal' speed mode, so supports analog and digital servos. But nothing happens. I've tried it in the normal steering servo port, but not a peep. I've not found any comments of this combo not working yet, so I wondered if anyone else had faced a similar issue with this servo?
  4. First cut and trim done of the C10 body. time to decide on the colour scheme. Metallic red or Gunmetal in my mind at the moment.
  5. Progress with the Ryft waiting one a replacement shifting servo before I can start attaching the innards. 3D printed netting works well, just not sure about the black colour.
  6. Some lovely wheels, and some PL rings not shown. the PL Super Swamper XLs are a pig to get on. So far I have 1 tyre one at about 95% success. thankfully the assassins intended for the Ryft went on easily, but only once I had the PL sized rings. lovely wheels though, I can see how folks start to collect them.
  7. Opened up a lot of plastic bags, did some wrenching
  8. This one http://www.axialracing.com/products/ax31498
  9. Got some bits: did some building I do have a aluminium servo horn to come, ordered a 25t and bought a 23t servo 🙃
  10. Quite a few deliveries Ryft stuff, touring car stuff and a new body for my SCX10 iii, which I’m hoping to like more than my efforts with the JL
  11. New toy! hopefully get cracking on it tonight, while waiting for postie to bring the electrics etc
  12. I want to like the body, but it looks a bit... off?
  13. About 9 months ago I managed to do this: finally got round to replacing it: All back together: just in time for its new cousin to arrive tomorrow 🙂 after running touring cars or vintage buggies for the last year, I’d forgotten just how wild these things are at this size!
  14. Lots of shiny hop ups appearing - are any necessary / must haves for a kit version?
  15. Cool, thanks. I had looked at some reviews of the AXE r2 combos, and saw some negative feedback regarding the gearing. I’m wondering now if the low speed set included makes that less of a problem
  16. Just placed an order for a Ryft kit today, so now on the search for the electrics. Browsing round I’ve seen mentions of the Castle Copperhead combos. Are these a good match, or am I better headed to MambaLand? https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/castle-copperhead-10-1406-1900kv-combo-crawler-1338357 I’m expecting to go single speed, more interested in going up and over things than out and out speed. Servo wise I’m leaning towards a Savox SW1212SG . Is that strong enough?
  17. Eek, I'd planned to make some like that for my clod, after struggling to find any to buy. I guess I'll still go ahead as I've bought the foam, but I'll be watchful for this. Thanks for sharing
  18. Hi RibTickler, I'm not sure what you mean - would it not let you paste a lot of text into the reply box? That Pumpkin looks sweet and shiny. Are you going to do any modifications to it - shocks, motor etc?
  19. Thanks Noj! I'd read that a few weeks ago, but I'd noticed the part to make a hard case fit, I'd missed your arm extension. I was looking at it last night after Praet0r87's comments, and wondering if I could make some form of extension from bits too. I had considered just shaving down each side of the arms, but I'm concerned that might make them too thin to cope with knocks. I'll get modding with an extension!
  20. Thanks Yeah, the FX10 kit from a US ebay-er, hopefully I'll find that at the post office tomorrow. As for the MP - I wish I could claim that as a stylish paint job. Instead that's the raw plastic, faded over time. Looking at your interesting ESS mod, I noticed you've got a bigger battery arm; I'll have to be finding one of those, after running round with lipos that don't quite fit. Something like this, but a little closer for shipping.
  21. Afternoon folks, I thought I'd pop a 'Thank You' into this thread for all the tips, comments and photos you've all put of your lunchies I've had a Midnight Pumpkin sat on a shelf gathering dust for about 25 years, and something stirred me into action to get it down about 3 weeks ago. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/34584-/ I was going to just get it going, but enthusiasm and temptation got the better of me. So now I still have a slightly battered 25 years old Midnight Pumpkin, and a shiny (well, it was) new Lunch Box Black Edition. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/34582-fresh/ Updates so far are better shocks all round, 5th shock mod, 15T motor, bearings and some nice lights. I've got the front suspension mod on the way (I think Royal Mail are holding it ransom for import duty right now), and I want to get the top brace figured out soon. Took it to the beach while I was on holiday last week, and it was a lot of laughs (my 4 year old nephew found it all very exciting too). http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/34583-sandy/ Having tried it out in the garden after each mod, I'm really pleased with the way it handles now. Much better than the stock GF-01 and Buggy Champ that I also picked up I've yet to decide what I'm doing with the MP, but she may become a shelf queen with stock yellow LB shell. So thanks for getting me back into this hobby, hopefully I'll some interesting posts to come of further upgrades
