long piece of fishing line ends held 100 feet apart, then attach middle to an arrow and shoot that up passed the quads then pull both ends in and it should get em. if you dont have a bow and arrow then get a tennis ball in a long sock and attach that to middle of the fishing line and see if you can launch that far enough to get past the quads. the main thin will be to have the 2 ends far enough apart to be sure the line will be looped round the quads if you get it far enough. the tennis ball should have enough weight to get the distance without damaging the roof when it lands on it.

Could it be that you have reached the memory limit for storing data so its got no room to store any more settings you change from now on. Cant comment on the radio as i dont have one, but thought id share my thoughts.

would you need another camera with the ar drone, it has one forward pointing and one down pointing that you can view like fpv and the v2 i believe can record hd to on board memory if you plug some in. instead of recording via wireless. The drone is designed to work with iphones ipads etc but there are aps for it to control via android. I have also seen mention of a magyver mod that allow you to control via stick controller not sure what format but you could maybe look into that.

saw a review for the spyhawk plane version but might be same for yours. on the controller there is a row of buttons just below the screen. I believe the lh one turns stabalisation on and off and if the review i saw onling ir correct the one on the rh side turns recording on and off. should then record to onboard micro sd card hopefully lol

Since the MSUk bash is not happening I am looking for other weekend bashes that I could possibly attend. It is difficult to trawl though all the subsections to find what is going on, so I would ask any groups planning a weekend bash open to all to post the dates of the bash here and a link to the thread for the bash. This thread is not intended as a discussion and i would ask that the only posts on it are from the bash organizers linking to their bash with the dates. Would be great to be able to go to a few of them but need to know in advanced to plan things. I think this information would be useful to others and ask the mods to make it a sticky. Thanks Carlton

just watched a review and it seems soon as you hit record you turn off the wifi, and it has a real lag,

If you already have a controller with a trainer/buddy port on the back then you just need the 12-1 simm and use the controller you have. I did that at first with an old 40meg 4ch controller i had and the simm worked fine. Later on if you get a better controller with more channels you just start using that with the simm. If you dont have one already with a training port just find a cheap one any make that does, this would allow you to practice on the simm to develop the muscle memory so you just automatically move the controls by reaction rather than having to think about what to do next when you are flying an actual model.

update on the camera, they are sending me a new camera unit free of charge, cant grumble at that for customer service. soon as it lands i will give it a try out and hopefully have good clear hd video.

looking good again, i think the battery underneath will make it more stable. Shame you fried the quad esc it looked real nice, they could do with some reverse polarity protection on it. lol. Is that a camera i see mounted on the front?

depends on the output from your camcorder and the inputs to your computer Years ago i got a ulead usb device that acted as a bridge between the two and included a bit of video compression hardware and came with the softwere. i would think you will need something like that yourself, but they should be real cheap these days.

btw that trex landing skid your using looks the part and should give protection under normal conditions when you land. Today's flight inspired me to get the wilga decorated so i have put all the stickers on it now. lol. Just need a bit of high visibility sticky stuff to put on the bottom so i can tell it right way up, haven't decided which color would be best. Then first suitable flying day i will try my first RC plane flight.

was real neat, i think i was more upset for him than he was when it ended in a pile of bits. the hobbywing quad esc is super tydy and a real good looking product and smash had got it all looking so neat. Dont know how good the board is and i think smash will be switching to a hk kk2 board when he rebuilds it and using the fc board for another project. Im looking forward to seeing his other build in real life with the stabalised gimbol for the camera.

Have tried as much as i dare without voiding any warrantee, dont want to go messing with any super glued parts. have linked them to the vid in the message i sent them so will see what they have to say. Do you know them personally? just wondering sinve you know their name. oh and not set to infinity for the focus. can focus on things 6 inches away fine but not anything further than that. lol

Smash came round with his quad copter today and we ventured out for an outdoor flight. There was more wind than would be advisable for flying the little quad, but even though at times full forward was holding position it worked really well. I even managed to do some flips with it. During the video you will see Smash's quad whizzing passed a couple of times though he was no longer in the air by the time i did my first flip. (ill let him elaborate on that). The camera is disappointing as it has a permanent mark on the lens and fails to adjust focus, i think it is trying to focus on the mark all the time, so i will be finding out how good Bangood are at customer service when i email support later today. I will definitely be getting more batteries for this as its great fun to fly. Was a short but fun flying day and we found a handy and good spot for bashing that will be good for the cars too. So next time will be taking a car full of Rc gear. If the camera problem is sorted, im hoping they just send new unit out, this Quad is excellent value and good fun. video
