  1. You could use the led strip off ebay and use a 9v battery or plug it into your receiver with the suitable connector They do kits on ebay as well that you just plug in
  2. Add me on the waiting list, would be happy to make a donation to a charity of your choice 👍 Merry Christmas everyone
  3. Might of accidentally pressed too many buttons on ebay 😂😂 Found this SS on ebay for a good price plus it came with quite a few spares to add to my already growing collection in the tool box 👍 Need to refill the shocks as they are soft and give it a once over as the previous owner used to run it on the beach I like how on the SS the body mount as reinforced Tempted to swap the good bits over to my main xs but not sure yet Hopefully will be able to give this a run when I get 5 mins to see what it's like 🤔
  4. Fitted some trick bits to my savage xs shelf queen 😁
  5. Few more pictures of the shelf queen / soft runner 😂 Fitted the shocks I found on ebay for a good price I heard the shocks for the axial scx10 fit too and there are some nice ones on ebay Planning on axle extenders & some nice wheels I think the pink goes well with the black I might of also pressed a few buttons on ebay 😂 Did someone say SS kit..... 🤔
  6. So a little update, I managed some time to myself this evening to cut out a new shell I have been waiting a while for modelsport to get it back into stock Cut it with the craft knife and gave it a slight scissor trim Need to ream the holes, mount and paint next Also here are a few pics of the shelf queen I have been working on I bought some integy parts off ebay quite a while back and I wasn't going to open them just yet but why not I also found some anodised pink hex bolts online which I think goes quite nice with the orange More pics to follow
  7. Once the baby had settled I started to cut out my new shells Savage xs gt shell Seven20 bitty designs shell for my tamiya tt01e Had some fun with the craft knife which makes for much cleaner cutting, just need to work on my steady hand around the arches Next is to mount them and give them a paint
  8. Had a good read through this, some amazing work gone into sourcing parts etc Really like the big wheels and tyres combo Would be interesting to see progress on the wheels
  9. So the ebay special is finally back together 😁 It's had full strip down de greased (many times) All Bent, broken bolts & parts replaced Diffs stripped cleaned and re greased I gave it a quick blast down the street to check eveything was together Steering is abit sloppy but I have the traxxas ends plus some piano wire to make my own turnbuckles Found it has rear cvds and the original vapour esc which I might swap out as my last one set in fire 😂🔥 Ow and I forgot how bad the original tyres are 😂 Definitely need to upgrade them like my other xs Started to work on the shelf queen which I will update soon 👍
  10. Took one of savage xs out today, let my friends little boys have a go First it was into a bollard then got wedged under a car 😅 Took it home had a look Broke the shock mounting bolt, chassis roll bar brave and the slipper clutch nut came loose After a look in the spares box & 30 mins later all back ready for action for next time 😁😁
  11. Luckily I have a understanding partner 😁 Just warming her up for the next shelf with my 1/8ths on 😂
  12. Seeing as I had to make the spare room man cave into a nursery for my little girl. I built a man cave shelf on my side of the bed with a selection of cars that are not in storage 😭
  13. Finally opened my deliveries from this week 😁 Plenty of parts for my growing collection of xs Got some paints New shell Spare slipper clutch pads as I have found these are hard to come by atm Found some cheap battery box sets as well which again are expensive everywhere else Got some 3 racing anodised screws as well to bling my shelf queen up when I get round to it Hopefully will finish rebuilding the ebay special and give it a test soon 👍
  14. The body's do usually tend to wear through on the rear shock towers after tumbles I just reinforce with fibre tape In regards to shells I dont know of that many other than hpi There is the rubicorn shell 106704 I think people have adapted crawler shells to fit too
  15. A slight update on the rebuild Slow progress due to recently becoming a parent 😁 I stripped it all to bits, used brake cleaner and soaked parts in the sink and I have fainlly got everything pretty much clean The chassis is still slightly tacky but It will do Stripped the centre gearbox down and replaced the slipper pads Clean and slightly greased all the moving bits with some wurth lubricant. Both diffs have been cleaned out, bearings cleaned, greased and re filled with min tex brake lube which I find works great I also put new gaskets on the diffs too Had to replace a bearing on the diff as it had come apart and drive cup on one side A few threaded screws have been extracted and replaced Here is where I'm up to atm Today I received 2 boxes of parts to finish the rebuild and some refresh parts plus spares Will update again soon
  16. Cheers will take a look I received the xs off ebay yesterday It's been abit neglected it seems and its covered in either diff oil or shock oil as its really sticky everywhere. So it's a full strip down, clean and regrease Plus listing the bolts missing and rounded to get replaced I plugged a battery into it and it drives alright but the rear wheels click and I think the clutch is slipping. Abit of fettling and should be good to go
  17. Where did you get those adapters from? I have just bought another xs off ebay mainly for parts but might give it a run or two That will be 2 and a half savage xs I have now 😁

  19. I usually go to park View in Lytham and use the bmx track or the skate park for some big air Fairhaven lake skate park and grass grounds are also quite good
  20. I used the traxxas rod ends and then I got some steel rod and coiled a thread on each end Just ordered a new esc for mine I'm still using the original motor and sc8 esc Finding it hard to find the original gt2 shell now though 😞
