  5. 8th Scale Brushless combo - £100 Posted Qbase 120A ESC - usual minor damage to case couple of small cracks but fully working only annoying bit of damage is where the wires for the fan go into the connector have broken, these can however be re soldered on with a steady hand. Alphastar 2350KV Brushless Motor - Can in very good condition with minor cosmetic marking, No case screws have been broken off and none of the mounting holes are threaded. Wires are in very good condition with no cuts or damage. There is good magnetic resistance on the rotor
  6. **crawls out from under a rock** These things are all very well in concept but in reality wouldn't really work. Its a shame the £100 speed car challenge didn't take off as it was a good opportunity for people to be creative and on a budget and I would have figured that using a small entry fee with winner takes all would have attracted a variety of people who were up for a challenge but in reality that flopped. Even with the comps to show off various creations the turnout was tiny and that's always a shame with a large online community so getting people to put into a kitty for a prize would be unrealistic in my opinion. The main thing the forum is lacking is a good community gathering, the BIG MSUK meetups were a blast but since that's kind of died a death things have gone a bit "meh" for a want of a better word. On the pro side if people are looking for an opportunity for a gathering don't forget there is the ROSSA weekender coming up in September where all are welcome so if you want to put some spark back in the hobby i think we need to consider making an effort to all get together again for a weekend of sh**s and giggles.
  7. Life has taken a bit of a different turn for me lately so as of such I'm having a bit of a clear out of my RC stuff baring my Chaser project which will be forever ongoing lol and to fund that project i have some goodies up for grabs. So to start things off the first item on the list is my 8cell 250A Water resistant MGM that I have only used in my speed projects. It at best has only been used a handful of times and performed perfectly. All you would need to do is purchase the program leads from MGM as I am keeping these for my big MGM. It has been modified by MGM to have the additional CAP bank to reduce any potential stressed caused by longer wires when using multiple lipos and is currently fitted with 6mm MP Jet connectors (if memory serves me correctly) This ESC will be removed from my 8cell speed car the Hyper GT (which may well be up for sale soon) All this ESC can be yours for £275 all in including fees and shipping. (ill get an couple of extra pics tomorrow when its stripped out of the hyper GT)

    Thank You MSUK!

    Nicely done fella
  12. As Tony says we had a £100 build challenge in 2014 which was good fun but its very difficult to buy a donor car and electrics for that budget. I used Mardave donor bought off ebay and cheap Hobby king electronics (minus radio gear) It managed 85ish MPH (before going off track and hitting an immoveable object buried in the grass destroying the little car). It ran on 2s and weighed about 1.2kg give or take. The fail safe on the ESC was strong enough to lock the wheels pulling the foam off the rims so a mechanical break wasn't something I needed to worry about. Personally I think the best approach is if you are limited by budget is keep it simple and keep it light.

    Buying Jewellery

I never buy stuff online as pictures can be very deceptive. There are always bargins to be had on the high street. The reality is if its white gold or has diamonds set in it its it likely to be expensive

  21. shhhhh, it would have made for an epic fail video of a rc going full chat off the rollers and full pelt into a wall lol Good work though fella
  22. I beg to differ. GPS is fine if you have loads of distance to cover, but for RC its pretty crap. They will do as a tuning guide but normally a fair bit off what you will register on a speed trap. Enjoy the build but don't get frustrated and quit if you don't find it as simple as you think it will be
  23. Good to see more people with the speed bug! Don't rely on GPS speeds as they can be wildly inaccurate. 130Mph is a lot to ask from something that is as aerodnamic as a brick. Set a realistic goal of breaking the 100mph mark (its A LOT harder than you may think) I personally think you wont get much more than 120Mph at an absolute push. There are many hidden challenges that await you but the fun part is over coming each obstacle as you come across it. Keep up the hard work and I look forward to seeing it run though some timing traps at ROSSA.
