  1. IT FINALLY ARRIVED! So, first impressions, lightly run car that seems all original. Has a mabuchi motor (upgraded?) and a mechanical speed control... Tires are in great condition and overall i'm impressed. so i gave it a quick blast with the stock setup. Very tame. i had a brushed esc and a small lipo kicking about... so out came the mech speed control and in went the novak gtx after 5 minutes running it's gone pop and stopped moving. motor was still spinning under throttle so part of the driveline gave up. after a quick check it's the dogbone that's snapped, so i'll be on the hunt for a pair of metal ones
  2. Yeah, wasn't planning anything mad, just something to put around outside that i wouldn't be afraid of breaking
  3. Just got a nice little notification on my phone telling me i'd won a kyosho raider buggy. for about
  4. See now, I'm on the other end of the stick here! had boxes and boxes of bits i'd collected over a couple of years. didn't know how to shift them easy so decided to take them to the car boot. sold a couple of vintage kyosho models (worth
  5. I've noticed the market for this stuff is really down, but with that clean of a truck you'll probably still pull about
  6. Am i the only one really excited for this? I've only driven a very poor example for a short while but i have to say it's a right hoot! Like a more race orientated sand scorcher.
  7. It's an inherent design with the savage really, you can go all out for handling on a savage but you'll lose some of that wallowy character. Diff oil is a good start, thicken up the rear oil to make the rear wheels break traction easier, making it less likely to squat back and understeer and promote oversteer which you can control. But this is all dependant on the surface you drive it on, loose surfaces will aid the low tech 4wd handling.
  8. Just fired up the sh.28 engine for the first time in 4 years. Much more brutal than i remember!

Sh .28 is a nice little nitro motor. But a pair of them is even more fun :)

  9. That's an older style savage, most likley a 21/25 going on the wheels. and most of the parts are different to a savage x, some are interchangeable but they'd be a reliability downgrade
  10. Bought back my first savage that i sold in 2009!

  11. take the plug out and flip the car upside down, let some excess fluid out, maybe even turn it over a few times while it can drain. leave the plug out for 20 minutes to dry up any fluid left, then pop the plug back in and try restarting.
  12. Had loads of issues with my ts4n running too hot, it's not always that it's too lean, if you're running with the body on I'd suggest ventilating it a bit more. And maybe running it a tad richer. But it does change the performance...
  13. Last bump/price drop before it's all put away again!
  14. The Losi tray is what I fitted when I did my conversion. Fitted my 6000mah 4s with room to spare and two 3s packs should work just fine.
  15. How about a jaguar e-type you'd probably have to split the mould up into some separate pieces but it's an iconic car that's been totally missed!
  16. Made one of these a few years ago to go on my yoko drifter, unfortunately i made it out of stuff i had lying about. Stuck out in the perfect place on the shell and cost me next to nothing. Just wired to a y-harness on the throttle so as you hit full throttle it would click the lighter and pop all the gas in the tube.
  17. If you're set on getting something new then they're probably your best bet... but you're much better off buying a better quality used chassis for a similar price. Either way, as a drifter doesn't need all that much power you could probably use an EZ run setup with no issues at all. go for something like this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3in1-Ezrun-Combo-60A-9T-Brushless-Motor-RC-Car-Truck-/191100170856?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item2c7e753268 All but the drift devil that you posted are 190mm As for the nimh vs lipo thing i'd suggest a lipo setup as an investment, It may cost more but you can charge in a fraction of the time and the performance will be much more controllable (less voltage drop) Get a belt driven car for drifting as you can then adjust 'countersteer' (how fast the front wheels spin compared to the back) You cant do that with a shaft driven car.
  18. bumped and priced dropped, need this stuff shifted. send me an offer.
  19. I assume you mean the battery, it's 105mm by 36mm, by 15mm. very compact little battery.
  20. No interest, so prices all dropped. Well it's been a while since i've been around on this forum and i've stumbled on another box of stuff i had laying around that i don't have a use for. I've never driven the car but it was raced, but regularly maintained. it's just had new front cv joints. Hot Bodies cyclone TC
  21. Good progress there buddy. i've fitted a big block into one of these before. Didn't end well... My suggestion for this would be to get your hands on a donor rs4/rs4 mt2, This would allow you to mound a geared center diff (locked) as a spur gear, and letting you run a center drive shaft that would fit straight into the rs4 diff. then get your hands on some oldschool kyosho manifolds and run them upside down so you get the clearance. Swap out the engine mounts to some smaller ones, maybe look for some Schumacher ones as they're simple to adapt. That'll sort the drivetrain out and should give a good idea of how to adapt everything else
