  1. http://www.hobbyking...?idProduct=8359 Brilliant little learner plane. Glides for ages, but flies like a ducted fan jet at full speed. The stock motor and ESC will not last long though. www.giantcod.co.uk have motors for £7 and ESCs for £15. I did these with it:

  3. Best in HD full screen with the sound on! Enjoy.
  4. Yea, FPV vids will be uploaded to Vimeo, they have better HD anyway She already is all FPV'ed up, my brother was on the goggles during the flight. Just waiting for some weekend or Easter hols weather to take it somewhere nice for more GoPro'ness.
  5. Reupped with different Audio. And a bonus slope soaring with the GoPro video: (out takes near the end are fairly funny especially landing into a family at 30mph). Like a lot of my videos they are more journals that fancy edited pieces
  6. Grrr... Suppose I'll need to upload it again and avoid Daft Punk. Works for me, but then again it's my video LOL.
  7. Took a while to build it, but worth it!
  8. I donno, it just seems to like flying to Megadeth. Each to their own
  9. The motor has been replaced as I bust the shaft trying not to hit myself in the face with the plane! Only... em... the motor in the video is pulling about 16A on an 8x8 prop.... new one pulls 30A!!! with an 8x8 and needs to go down to a 8x6 at least. Gonna be a seriously sharp little plane!
  10. Took me a while to twig who you were! What with your name being the same on two forums and you avatar being the same... I only just realized, after seeing the GS video, you are TT from FPV-UK! Slow one me!
  11. Im not going to name and shame. I got a full refund so no harm done. I just figured, I'd rather deal with someone else!
  12. I ordered some shelve stacks from a UK ebay seller. 3 weeks later and no dispatch, no arrival. So I messaged him. Got a reply para-quoted: "We sent you 3 emails and no reply. The shipping to your area is
  13. Just to underline this point, in light of the two comments after it.... 750mm rotor disc is NOT A TOY indoor heli! Chair legs, sofa, etc.... it would have done far worse damage to you if it had got you. I have owned 4 of them (450 class heli's) and I don't even spin them up indoors without first "neutering" them with 0 pitch AND strapping them down, even that is only done of rare occasions to test the gyro is correctly wired/reversed. Normally if I'm working on it indoors I remove the main blades AND 2 motor wires. As some one put it to me once, it only takes one mistake to ruin your life when working/playing with these things. The "My little Jonny has a heli and he's always crashing it into the dog, LOL", type statements are from people that simply don't understand how fierce a 450 is. 450 crash into dog = dead dog or very expensive vet bill.
  14. Foo Kin right. Funny, how I picked up on it in the first reading. Couldn't believe people were responding. This stuff ends up in my inbox everyday! Tell ya what, if you send me
  15. Ohh... many thanks mate, but I should be able to buy one locally tomorrow. I tried the sat nav suction mount for the wind screen and I can pull out the surrounding bits of the dent, but the suction fails on the deep bit, pulls off. Can't find the GoPro mount, it's more powerful, but larger as well Thanks for the offer though
  16. Don't think they washed the engine bay. Looks like someone has leaned on the bonnet to reach the top when polishing it or something and the bonnet has given way and not popped back Local "dent man" quoted me
  17. Left my car in this morning to have it valeted. Went back to pick it up, it's sitting there lovely and shiny with.... a huge, enormous dent in the bonnet, like someone sat on it. Guys says, "that'll be
  18. Got a new 720p keychain cam A #11 for those in the know.; Stuck it on my aerobatic highwing plane.
  19. The rest of this build log can be found here: http://www.fpvuk.org/forum/index.php?topic=1645.0 The photos, for the impatient, are here: http://www.campbell-multimedia.co.uk/gallery3/index.php/RC-Photos/Skywalker-FPV I'm only updating one thread
  20. The CAA imposed changes here last November. However, the BMFA got their foot in the door and had a few careful amendments made to preserve the hobby, with a few restrictions of limited effect. There are avenues of the hobby that will always bring it under tight scrutiny. Problem is several of them are becoming more and more popular as they become easier to access. The ones that spring to mind are: Large petrol engine models. Turbine powered models. Model over 7Kg Un-'leashed' FPV Chavs, if they get their hands on anything flyable. The other aspect is that with HD camera technology bring easy access now, people are actively using RC planes for commercial aerial photography and videoography. In the UK this requires a license from the CAA. They don't like that. Also, what next.... computer controlled auto drone surveillance.
  21. I don't have any electric cars yet, but I do have a range of planes and helis. There is no one connector that will do all my connections. So I select a type of connector based on the amperage of what it is going one. > 60A = 4mm Bullets. As come on the HK 5000mAH packs. (or are then 4.5mm can't remember). 15-60A = XT60s < 15A = JSTs (small red things) or just JR/Futaba servo style plugs. I don't like deans. Should I get something that draws over 80/100A I'll use bigger bullets. If something comes with a Deans or other wrong connector (for me), it gets resoldered or I use an adapter. For power analysing (watt meter has XT60s), I have adapters for everything from JR, JST and Bullets.
  22. 70mm back from the LE? How wide is the wing? Phoenix 2000, isn't that like the Radion/ASW and the wing is only like less than 20cm chord at the root? Best advice if you are not sure of where to balance the plane, is to balance it way, way too nose heavy. Nose heavy is trimable in the air for a safe landing, tail heavy isn't and can often result in a tip stall followed by a spin and a crash. I start with 1/4 root chord or less. Quite often there will be a servo wire or a spar line around about the 1/3chord mark, keep it forward of that until your happy with it and can move it back.
  23. I just linked mine to my bank account.
  24. From when I was self employed I get a letter once a month telling me I haven't filled in my tax return and I've been fined
