  1. Ok sounds like a plan, 14t and 4282, a shed load of torque sounds good to me, was it a tight fit in yours? No stranger to losing hex nuts, have a stick of blue Loctite I reapply every time the wheels come off... got some work to do between this and the e lst, so the tools are gonna get a work out!!
  2. Ha ha, knew you`d be along Ok I`ll try a 14, I did the diffs before it maiden voyage, and went with 50k, 300k, 30k f,m,r. All the bearings and diffs etc are nice and smooth, it had a pretty good tear down after Saturdays antics and everything is sweet. On grass I`d say it`ll hold the front up for 20-30 feet then slowly drop down. The e lst on the same batts is a lot more lively, aggressive in comparison. I have an MM castle 2200 combo I could swap in and potentially use the stock stuff in something else, or try that motor I got off you, if the esc is generally seen as well up to it, maybe changing the motor would be an option?
  3. I will do, before I do anything drastic, but I have some wrenching to do first as Its taken a bit of a hiding over the weekend......
  4. I don't think its my batts, as they perform so well in the e lst2. Plus they have a good c rating so should provide enough juice for the combo. I`ve been through the setting with a program card and set the punch up a bit and the brake force down a bit, maybe I`m expecting too much from it, but the slow rotation in the air is dangerous for its own well being!!! Maybe I should try a bigger set of wheels on it and see if that helps the gyro in the air.
  5. It just stutters very slightly, only if I apply the very lightest of throttle inputs, just as it starts to get some juice, but not enough to move off. A normal take off is perfect and all other applications of power are spot on. I dont think its a problem with anything, its just what happens in those conditions.
  6. Ah ok, yeah, he`s not usually that far away when there is mt4 talk going on
  7. Did you notice a big difference between the stock esc and the 150a on 4s? I have other combos, I could switch around which may help, nothing else I have on 4s feels a bit tame like this.
  8. Apparently not!! Did a couple when I had the e lst2 built onto an xxl chassis with 55 series wheels and tyres from a cen. The extra length of the chassis and bigger wheels put more strain on the rear diff, even though they`d been shimmed and had diff oil in rather than grease. Didn`t break any on the stock chassis, and now I`m back on a stock chassis, I think it`ll be ok.....
  9. Hey Guys, I`m finding my mt4 on 4s 4.5 30c trunigy hardcase lipos a bit lacking in punch, I`ve not maxed the settings via the esc, but have upped it to 7 I think, it`ll pop up on the back wheels and ride it out a fair way, but not hold it indefinitely, and in the skate park the other day it really was very slow to rotate in the air with wot, making backflips hard and also likely to cause damage from bad landings, (managed that pretty good anyway) as a comparison, with the same batts. and a 150a/2250kv combo, with bigger wheels, so greater gyroscopic effect, the e lst2 will pop up and wheely as long as you can hold it, also it was doing double backflips from similar jumps.... Do I need 5s to liven things up a bit in the mt4? Its a shame as all my stuff is 4s and I`ve just bought another 4 4s batts.....
  10. Hey Tug, yeah I`ll try on the vids Gopro was with me but didn`t make it out of my pocket. What I really need is a nice dirt bmx track, or to build my own jumps or the like.... The lst chassis bent right behind the new battery tray mounts, this is the area of the chassis that is most `cut out` as stock, so the weight of the batt bent it on impact. I also found when jumping it, that the new battery location was making it nose dive a bit, so while it seemed like it would be better, with a more even weight distribution and lower cg, it hasn`t worked out exactly as planned. So I need to either strengthen the chassis in that area, or move the layout around again.....At least I didn`t bust any diffs this time .
  11. Here is a quick vid of my mesh and how it sounds on the bench, couldn't do a movin off one as it busted up at mo, but as you bring in the drive very gently, like finding the biting point on a car, it does cog very slightly which makes a funny sort of noise.
  12. That's one option I have in mind Also considered going down from the brace rose joint bolt to the top plate, with internally threaded ally bar welded to a flat mount to bolt down to the top plate, so the fixing for the joint bolts straight down into the thread, which might help stop some of the flexing forces, the brace is resisting, being transferred directly to the diff case mounts. Along with possibly, a sort of step shaped brace, on the front of the diff housing, going from the tower mounts down to somewhere like the sway bar mounts, prob not a massive gain to be had there, but every little way to spread the impact out a bit has to help. I hadn't considered trimming back the bottom of the brace bracket, why do you think that might help? I def need to work something out, my clumsy driving may improve slightly, but better durability is needed.
  13. pm`d, but whether I buy them, or not, I`ll still be looking for an odd one or pair, so I don`t lose the use of remaining three from this set....
  14. Yeah saw those, but if they're losi ones they`ll be 20mm hex, but want to make this set back up. Cheers for the offer though.
  15. Hey All, As above, after destroying one yesterday, I`d like to make the set back up, so if anyone has an odd one, even a pair let me know. Cheers
  16. Ha ha, I was a bit disappointed last night. Luckily I have all the bits needed for both, repaired the rear end of the mt4 last night, replaced both bent hingepins, and the lost pin holder insert, then stripped the front, ready for bits harvested from the st-1 roller. Finished it up this morning with new half diff housing, new cnc front plate rearnew shock tower as that was bent too, so she was ready to go again, bits were everywhere at my work station, but the sun was out and it was time to go play. New Cnc goodness Some of the damaged bits from yesterday Headed off to a small bmx/pump track in the corner of a localish park, part tarmac on the berms and loose fine gravel, over harder pack on the jumps, which are quite tight and compact. Had a nice little bash, trying to find the right rhythm for the jumps, 2+2, or 3+1 etc, nothing very high, but the ground was very hard on the jumps and it took some pretty solid front enders, until the ears popped on the front diff housing AGAIN and still inside of 1 4500mah pack. Had the gopro with me too and the wife was going to film for me, but we didn`t get that far....... Fresh damage Dropped right to the floor this time as it sheared the bolt through the bumper top stay. Back to the work station for me..........
  17. That sounds pretty similar to mine, Just tighten the mesh so there is just the smallest tick of play when you hold the pinion and Rock the spur back and forth. That should see it good. Mines a bit bruised at mo, but I'll post a vid of it on the bench if it helps.
  18. I just neeed to stay away from the skate park I think, I cant help but do stupid things in there, and its just savage on the trucks and smashing them that bad inside a pack each gets expensive and isn`t really that fun if its every outing.
  19. I must learn to stay away from skate parks. Thought I'd grab the freshly re vamped bl lst2 and the mt4 and head to the skate park for a quick bash. Less than a pack through each and I'm back in the van heading home I did manage a couple of double backflips with the lst, before a heavy nose landing from the upper atmosphere basically reversed most of the work I've been doing to it lately. Ready to go Modified by gravity Crap, wanted to go to the bmx track with it tomorrow... So out came the mt4. All good, it's much smoother than the lst, but lacks the rawness and punch of the lst. Wound things up a bit and went for some backflips, but it doesn't rotate fast enough in the air, barely made two backflips, which were plenty high enough, took a few heavy nose landings. Moved to a different area, took a tumble and suddenly the back end was at a jaunty angle. Oops Also noticed the front was riding low, yep done the ears on the front diff housing.....
  20. Worked til three and was very happy to have these waiting when I got home. Project supplies, hail and rain outside, radio, lights and heating on in the rc room.....
  21. Some of the bits I have been waiting for arrive today. So got on with mounting the batt tray on the bl lst. Some nice black delrin. Drilled and tapped the holes to m4 Nearly there, just needs some foam and straps Ready to go Happy with how it's worked out, seems solid too, may have to add longer fasteners with washers and nuts if the m4's pull out of the chassis, but we'll see. This layout should be a big improvement as the weight is better distributed as well as lowering the Centre of gravity quite a bit from the previous set up.
  22. Cheers Dave, hoping to have the bl revamp finished pretty soon, so I can start to show the other project
  23. So I`ve finally sorted out the material I need for the base to mount the batt tray, pre cut, plus another base and some other stuff, like maybe a better esc mount and revised rx box mount.... Lots left over to play with!! Hoping it`ll ship tomorrow. Whilst I`ve been dragging my heels a bit sorting that out, I`ve been working on another project that's been in my head for a while, lots of pics and its coming together nicely, but I won`t post up pics til the other one is finished off, to keep things easier to follow. Just ordered three more parts of the puzzle, motor mount, another hpi rx box and an esc mount. If wheelspin have they`re shizzle together I should have those items this week.
