So it stretches the desktop across each screen rather than just having one screen wasted. If You have an AMD/ATI GPU then you can install Catalyst control centre and setup what is called Eyefinity, That's what is making my desktop expand over 3 screens without looking stretched. Ig you don't have An ATI card, And don't have a hydra Nvidia card. Then you have to rely on windows to do it for you. If you right click on the desktop and click screen resolution. their will be a drop box that says Multiple Displays. You want this to be set to Expand Desktop on 2. Hit apply and that should sort it out for you. But if you do it this way you wont be able to play games on the double monitors and its never quite right. If you want to be running multiple screens ide get a half decent AMD card

Its because you're using Two screens. Do you have an AMD GPU. If you do it makes life a lot easier. But you can sort it out a bit without. The main problem is you have one screen showing the desktop and one showing the start screen, I say showing the desktop its actualy showing half yeah. When they Should Look like this.

Both consoles are evenly matched. Both are pretty damn reliable now days, PS3 has the most grunt on the hardware specs.
