  1. I don't think that the VE8 would make the best basher. It's got some great components, most from the D8, but a plastic chassis...
  2. Why not go the large scale servo way? Saves alot of mucking about with the servo saver!
  3. I've got an 808, not a leccy one though, but has taken loads of abuse. Beautifully made and very strong
  4. Bump! Will do the remaining bits as a lot for £20 posted, if anyone's interested?
  5. For the diff, its the 10x12x0.2mm (part number HPI Z892) on the case side, and 8x10x0.2mm (HPI Z877) on the ring gear side, or if you need one on the pinion. The 877s also work on various bits in the tranny, but not all, I used some others which I had floating about on other bits in there, not sure what size they were..
  6. Cool, I'm just off to work Pat, will sort out the details when I get back late tonight, or tomorrow AM. Cheers, Lawrence.
  7. Hi folks I'm having another clearout of a few more bits that are sitting about after my Flux build. All VGC or BNIP. 1- Leopard 4082 BL Motor, 1600kv, Castle 6.5mm connectors fitted (one has a small bit of solder that went into it when I was soldering them on, and it fills up the little gap between two of the "fingers".. Has no effect, just letting you know) and comes with some 8cm extensions that I made up. Has been run for literally seconds to test it and the truck. Utter beast of a motor, very happy on 6s, 3500w max output. VGC. Will come in original packaging. Selling as I got a Castle 1717. SOLD PENDING PAYMENT 2- Alza Racing Savage Motor Clamps for 40 series Leopard Motors (39.8mm diameter). Have a few superficial marks. Come with complete set of M4 screws. SOLD PENDING PAYMENT 3- HPI Tremor MT Wheels. 17mm hex. Had these imported from the U.S at great expense, as they don't sell white ones in the UK and I didn't want the bling factor of the silver ones. MASSIVE wheels, bigger than 40 series and very tough. Will only fit the HPI Phaltline or Goliath tires. BNIP, but the packets have been opened. Price-
  8. Hi Simon, and welcome to the forum and Flux club! It's got everything to do with this thread, so no worries there, and we'll do all we can to help you. Anything in particular you need a hand with at the mo..? Lawrence
  9. +1 If you do a search for "abc engine construction" on google you'll get the link that Timaay did come up at the top though, which ironically is the only one that gets it wrong!
  10. Is the X3 Sabre some sort of pro version of the Ulra LX-2...? I only spotted the Ultra on sale a week or so back for the first time, and they look pretty similar, but the Ultra is much lower spec and price. Maybe that'll be taking over from the RTR X1X-CR? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hong-nor-ultra-lx-2-ultimate-rtr-buggy/rc-car-products/366531
  11. I like the look of them alot, much more than the originals... They seem alot wider, like a proper MT tire, where the originals were a bit tall and spindly- Shame they've got Traxxas style beading though.. Whats going on with Proline and Traxxas? First they sold out with the Badlands, which were really popular and must've been a good seller, now they're giving them a decent version of the Trenchers.. Reckon there must be some money changing hands somewhere, probably going in Prolines direction. Wouldn't be an issue if there were plenty of decent wheels to use with them, but that ain't the case.
  12. Nice touch from HPI, but pretty sure that as soon as Proline bring out some alternatives people will go for them instead, unless all of a sudden HPI's made a tough shell.. Seems unlikely!
  13. @ big gaz- You can still get the suspension conversion kit in the UK on ebay.. You pay a premium for it, but it'll get to you in a couple of days http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/87245-HPI-SAVAGE-SUSPENSION-CONVERSION-SET-/380371945257?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item588fef4729 Alternatively you could save £35 and get it from the U.S, but have to wait for up to a couple of weeks (I've had 2 sets from these guys and not been stung for import duties) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HPI-Suspension-Conversion-Set-SAVAGE-25-X-4-6-XL-/330613024375?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cfa126677
  14. All of the race legal bodies are based on pretty boring saloon cars like the Mazda 6... There's a list of them here- http://www.centralbooking.org/cbs/index.php?view=article&catid=45%3Abrca-rules&id=75%3Abrca-bodyshell-list&option=com_content&Itemid=109 about the most exciting you get is an Alfa 159 or Subaru Imprezza, but they all look pretty similar!! Guess it's to keep to racing as close as possible..
  15. Wicked new DJ Vadim remix on Mixcloud- http://www.mixcloud....m=resource_link EDIT- Actually it's not that wicked.. Just been through to the whole thing and would mostly have rather been listening to The Archers on Radio 4!
  16. Anyone know where I can get a larger spur gear than the stock 44T that isn't as thin as the 47/52T HPI ones? I got one of the 47T's, and it's about 2mm thinner than the one that comes on the flux, so I'm not really happy about the lack of contact area between it and the pinion.. I know Robinson Racing do them (a whopping 9mm thick, which would be ideal), but really don't want to wait 2 weeks for it to arrive from the U.S. At the moment I can't get a decent mesh, because the pinion I need to use won't get quite close enough to the spur. I've tried a bigger pinion, but it's over geared and the motors getting warm, so figure the best solution is a slightly bigger spur. EDIT- If someones got one lying about then I'll happilly part with cash for it!
  17. With regards to the HPI shells.. Stick to the Prolines, they're thicker and will take lots more abuse
  18. I used to have big issues getting bits quickly for my XT8 and 808 when I ran them... RCDisco sometimes have bits in, but it's very hit and miss. There's quite alot on ebay, lots for the cars I had around European sellers and in the US, might be worth doing a search in the future, as even the stuff in the US can arrive much sooner than from XRAY.
  19. I'd buy this in a flash if I had the money right now... If it's still about after the weekend I'll be in touch!
  20. Think that should be posted somewhere else bud..
  21. Haha, I knew you'd be back! Of course there would be some benefit, who knows, we might both learn something.. As for the essay, it would only take a sentence or two to explain that one.
