  1. I've never known of a problem with the e-clips before, apart from them being so fiddly, they seem to hold up very well.
  2. Hmm.. They certainly look 'well used', and the lack of bearing's not the best sign. You could take the bulkheads apart and give them a good clean before writing them off completely, as the there aren't any teeth missing by the looks of it, and there might be some hours in them yet (can't really see how rounded the the gears are for the grime mind!!). Another possibility, depending on how far you want to push the credit card, is getting whole new front and rear ends, with the latest spec bulkheads and BP diffs already in, but you'll also have to get a whole mass of other parts if you go down that route (bumpers, SHD driveshafts/axles etc etc). There's a couple of used bits on ebay at the moment, which look good - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/hpi-savage-xl-front-or-rear-gear-box-with-alloy-diff-/300892396085?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item460e959a35 (that seller has got a pair of them at the moment), or new, which come with other bits you'll need to convert into X spec (shock towers and body mounts) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-savage-xl-flux-complete-diff-pinion-29-9-front-or-rear-shock-tower-/111053020811?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item19db469e8b
  3. I'd agree with Scumpy - it's a 25. I noticed from the pic that the truck doesn't seem to have any linkage from the servo to brake, or the brake cam sticking out of the tranny casing. Maybe you've already taken them off? If not, then part numbers are 86092 for the cam/piston, and 86356 for the linkage If you want to make a great upgrade to the brakes, which I heartily recommend, then go for the dual fibreglass disk break kit, part number 87025 - it's awesome, and the savvy really needs better stoppers on it than stock. Spur wise, you could get the complete assembly here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HPI-NITRO-SAVAGE-52-T-HEAVY-DUTY-STEEL-SPUR-GEAR-ASSEMBLY-HPI-77132-/190823407540?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item2c6df61fb4 Like Scrumpy, I've got a shed load of savvy spares kicking about, so let me know if there's anything you need. Hope that helps
  4. Yep, they replace the gears that are in there and slot straight in Innovative RC do some rather tasty diff cups, gaskets and cross pins, if you really want to go to town!
  5. The Picco P3 Monster .28 is another great contender, not quite up with the LRP .32 high end power wise, but arguably better built, will last longer and holds its tune a treat.
  6. Right... Just had a flash of memory from a while back, when I built up some properly BP diffs. There is an alternative, and it's the gears from the Hot Bodies Lightning. They're a bit thicker, and milled rather than cast, so more durable. Part number is HB C8101 Some on ebay here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOT-BODIES-LIGHTNING-HPI-TROPHY-/130887121915?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item1e797afbfb Hope that helps!
  7. These are the ones to go for http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-Bevel-Gear-Differential-Conversion-Set-87193-HPI-Savage-Flux-HP-/370789253997?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item5654c3036d, if you've not got 4 bevel gears in there already? I can't remember if the stock Flux comes with them now, it's been a while...
  8. Me and a mate just picked up an HPI Savage Flux HP, barely used, with lipo's, charger and spares for exactly
  9. BUMP! Still on the look out for a Savvy Flux - PM me if you're looking to sell one. Cheers, Lawrence.
  10. Looking to buy a Savage Flux HP for a friend, who's going to use it for an outdoor theatre project during the summer. Won't be used with the shell on, so that's not important, all other bits are though! So, must be in perfect running order. Whether it's stock or upgraded doesn't matter. Look forward to hearing from you
  11. BUMP!!! OK - so the Alza bits are sold, cheers Toxic But... The rest of the spares are still waiting for a home. Just to add onto what I've put info wise in the description - they're all basically as new (never seen the outside world), if not new, apart from the arms and outer driveshafts (which are still 100% straight). It'd make a great spares package for any savvy owner, and no doubt save loads of money in the future Will think about offers.. Cheers
  12. Hi! I've got a MASSIVE load of Savage bits to get rid of. They've been sitting about for ages and need to be gone! First lot - whole load of Alza Racing components. These include Savage Flux XL 4mm TVPs, Motor Clamps for a Castle 1717 motor, Flux XL Skid Plate and full set of Alloy Battery Box Mounts. They come complete with all of the original bolts and have never been bashed, just put on the truck while it was being built, so in great condition. Here's a pic- I'd like to sell them as a job lot. New they cost about 100 Euro's. Price -
  13. Hi Iceman. Good to be back, if only briefly. I've not got much time, or money, for the hobby just now unfortunately, so it'll probably be just a quick hello then I'll disappear again.. The shells will only fit on a savvy XL. I'll be putting up some Alza bits later, including some XL TVP's, so maybe you could build yourself an XL for the shell! Cheers, Lawrence.
  14. New Fourtet album, free to download - http://djmag.com/node/36321
  15. Nice to 'see' you again too Matt! Inbox is emptied now. @Ste - cheers for the offer mate, but hoping to get a bit more than that posted.
  16. It's been AGES since I've been on here, so hello again chaps! I've just been and picked up these shells, along with a load of other clobber, from my old house. They've been sitting around and now need to be sold! I'll take
  17. Would be interesting to see how it measures up against the cheaper HK batts in real terms... 70C does seem a little over optimistic somehow!
  18. The SPI wheels are great for stability and stopping the truck from tipping over, suspension conversion kit great for handling all round and stops so many breakages (get one!). The ones I was selling have gone to a new owner btw. Dejan is right - the standard TVP's on the flux are LCG. The FLM ones (#45300) are stronger, LCG (any lower and the gearbox would stick out of the bottom!) and look a helluva lot nicer. You could get some XL sized TVP's, again the FLM ones are LCG and the lightest alloy ones out there. They'll make the truck more stable on the flat, but less maneuverable in the air - some people think they take a bit of the fun factor out.. Hope that helps, Lawrence
  19. I quite like the look of this one - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hong-Nor-X1-CRT-Pro-Truggy-RB-Concept-S7-Engine-and-Ko-Propo-Recs-Servos-/160742903015?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item256d060ce7#ht_500wt_1361 Looks like you'll need a few more bits to get it going, but the condition is excellent and it could be a real bargain.
  20. +1 on the Hong Nor.. For the price you can't get any better IMO.
  21. It's so wrong, it's right! Just wish they'd make a decent car in those colours... I know the Hornet is an iconic design and everything, but that's about the only redeeming feature it has, lets be honest..
  22. Hi mate, No probs for the advice, all part of the service! The wheels will fit any of the standard size 3.2" MT/Truggy tires, like the ones which come on the Savage (HPI GT2's). Here's some of the tires you could use on them - http://www.modelsport.co.uk/pro-line-maxx-masher-t-e-maxx-/rc-car-products/11401 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-gt-tires-s-compound-160x86mm-2pcs-/rc-car-products/15922 http://www.jespares.com/nitro-models?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=2940&category_id=345 http://www.jespares.com/nitro-models?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=2937&category_id=345 http://www.jespares.com/nitro-models?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=2958&category_id=345 http://www.jespares.com/nitro-models?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=2942&category_id=345 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-terra-pin-tires-s-compound-170x85mm-2pcs-/rc-car-products/36984 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-aggressors-tire-s-compound-139x74mm-2pcs-/rc-car-products/24209 Hope that helps!
