Taiwan publicly destroys lambo muc???????? $300k car. Cos the owner imported it on the sly. Then stuck some ford plates on it.
They took a mini jcb with claws at it. Ripped it to peices.
He didnt pay the 60-70% of value in tax to be legal.
Thats so harsh. 70% tax.
-
Sorry - but person rich enough to buy and import an Lambo, smuggle it in to the country and fax some plates just to avoid paying taxes loses his car and its the governments fault?
People should be protesting if this DIDN'T happen, because that would be far less fair. 60-70% tax sounds steep, but that really the rate people who have supercar money should be taxed at.

So with Team Associated partnering up with Horizon, does that mean MS will stop doing TA stuff too? Doesn't affect me personally but I doubt it'll be a good thing for the UK. Who knows?
-
You can order direct from CML via their Shopatron. If anyone in their supply chain has the part it will show up.

CML Distribution are still the UK supplier for Team Associated and that doesn't sound like its about to change. You may also be able to get them via Horizon but they won't be the primary source, so places like Modelsport shouldn't have a problem. Not that MS would be my first port of call for the sort of racing orientated stuff that forms most of Associated range.
What might prove interesting is who has the better supply network and can get new stuff to you faster....

Guys need some help! Ive a durango dest and am in need of a 2s that fits and dont brake the bank! Can anyone help!? Ebay links prefered
-
You can fit pretty much anything thats not too high if its a DEST210 - I've run my 210 on normal sticks, saddles (one after the other to act like a stick) and shortys with a foam spacer. They all work.
If its a DEST410 you'll need a saddle pack, These work fine - I've fitted them to my 410, but these will not fit.

So when someone adds to a sale those words " Sold as seen due to the nature of the hobby".... is that a fair comment... i understand that to mean what ever my sale describes you might find its not as described but tough....
-
I've put it on sales before and even used it in defence when someone complained - I sold a Yokomo Bmax where one of the bevel gears bust the first time the new owner tried it. Thing is those gears did tend to go after a while, but there was no real way of knowing when - it worked when I sold it to him, it just didn't stay working.
Ebay seemed OK with my response that it was working when he got it, but actually cos I was still running a Bmax at the time and had a bundle of spare gears I sent the guy one and that shut him up.

Received a pair of zippy hardcase lipos from Hobbyking yesterday, sticker on box says this: 'Shipped at 30% charged, return to storage charge asap'
How long has this been going on?? Not put them in the charger yet, however, summat feels a bit wrong....

R/C's are turning into Coffee In a Coffee Shop, or bread in a super market. There is simply too many of the same thing now....
-
Thats very much the nature of a lot of businesses now - just look at bicycles or Android tablets. With most actual manufacturing done in a relatively few factories in the Far East, and the complex parts being sourced from someone else anyway filling the market with lots of similar products is easy.
In some ways its good, as it drives cost down and profile up, but it can be an issue if you need spares so items made this way tend to be disposable.
Also such a system actively discourages innovation - if you spend time and money developing something totally new you can sure someone will rip of your idea instantly and whilst they may hit the market slightly behind you they will have the advantage that unlike you they didn't have to spend on R&D.

The Grand Tour, what do you think of it? Personally thought it was great! All be it for a 1st episode.
-
Thought the cars (and the whole segment they were in) were awesome, the rest was dreadful! Too much forced humour with the 'celebrities', the audience 'fight', the grumpy NASCAR driver etc.
It was both the best bits of old Top Gear, and also the worst rolled into one.
They need to stop trying to be funny. The best humour from those three just seems to come when they are just getting on with the task at hand. By all means give them silly tasks to do, but cut the scripted 'comedy' and stick to what flows naturally.

Got myself a Yokomo Yz4 during the week - bit pricy but oh so nice. Too nice in fact because after just one meeting with it I seem to have got a Yz2 to go with it.

Anyone watching Le Mans coverage? IMHO The Ford GT's look absolutelty stunning.

Got rear ended today on the A3... gonna be selling up all my stuff within the next few days. Adverts will go up tomorrow. If anyones after a Baja Flux in mint condition let me know!
-
Uninsured drivers are a bit of a special case. Since they have no insurance to pay you, you are pretty much on your own. Some policies do cover against damage from uninsured drivers, but not all. You can in theory sue for damages - some insurance companies will even help with that, but remember a big reason people drive without insurance is that they don't have much money so it might not get you much.
Uninsured drivers are a special type of scum.....

Result! Jokingly said to my Mrs its a nice day, lets take my R/Cs out. She said yea ok. Loved it, and has just suggested we buy matching 1/18th scale.... Although Im trying to convince her to get matching 10th scalers Only issue is Its got to have "Owl" stickers?
-
Going the other way what about a pair of Carisma GT24b's? Can be had for £70 a piece, though you'll be wanting the 2S lipo as well for another fiver, and a clear shell to paint as an owl if you want.
They won't do grass, but are OK on astro and anything flat so finding space to run them isn't hard. My wife loves our GT24b, its one of only 2 of my RC's she will use (the other is my Wheely King) because she reckons its 'cute like an over eager puppy'.

Just looking at insurance renewals and the prices are insulting. For an employed person (myself) they want £1450, for a student they want £654. It's so furiating that there's a £800 price difference. I've shopped around but this seems to be the trend with them all ?

So a item posted from Japan arrives in 7 days with free shipping, but send it 1st class inside the UK costing £3.50 to ship and then takes 6 days to turn up, I think that sums up Royal Fail completely.....
-
I used to order parts from Liquid RC in the US and Roundabout 20 miles from here. Liquid was 99 cent postage and the stuff arrived in 5-6 days. Roundabout cost a few quid postage and took just as long, except he didn't even post the stuff till Tuesday. One of them is still in business, the other isn't.....

Typing on an Android based product is so tiresome! They're LEAGUES behind Apple IMO....
-
Thats interesting because I much prefer typing on my Nexus 7 than my work supplied Ipad Mini 2. Given that they are similar sized screens (Mini 2 is slightly bigger) and were both high end units at the same time its a pretty good comparison. Of course the fragmented Android comment is true though - All versions have worked well on the Nexus (but then they would on Androids on product) but less effectively on my Sony Z3 phone or my son's Asus Memo

Want something to run in the wet, not a crawler though, if I got the MTe and got everything waterproof think that would be suitable?

This is most likely going to sound a dumb/obvious question, but I have a servo here that says it's for Ni-Cd use only, can I not use it on a Ni-MH?

Why is the HPI E-Firestorm FLUX RTR out of stock everywhere i look

I hate the word Backorder!

Fitted my Blizzard with the Heavy Metal tracks. Stupid money, rare as hens teeth but really transforms the Blizzard, especially if its brushless. Banned from the house due to the noise though....
