  1. Shame i live about 1.1km from the exchange, as if i were closer i could get around 21meg down instead of 13. Pings are good though, usually around 16-17 to google. Forget using Limewire, it isn't a good program in any way really. Also, if you are using torrents, use uTorrent instead of bitlord as uTorrent is a lightweight program, which runs very well on pretty much anyones computer - it will also download torrents quicker than most other programs. Who is your ISP? Virgin Media, Orange, BT, TalkTalk and a few others will limit any P2P traffic, some at peak hours, some will limit it all the time. Those ISP's will also limit anything other than port 80 traffic in peak hours. steve0280 - Do you use wireless? That can cause high pings, along with Virgin limiting traffic, they also have notorious packet loss and high ping issues over most of the country.
  2. No you don't... you just type cmd in the search box in the start menu and press enter and Vista isn't slow, its quicker than XP by far. Vista will be slow if you have a PC with less than 2GB of ram, but with the current low ram prices i can't see why anyone would have a problem with getting more ram. Vista is a great OS as long as you get the 64bit one, the 32 is pointless really.
  3. No chance of that, its one of the most popular programs and it must make the BBC and everyone involved a massive amount of money.
  4. You may want to add that you cannot get free tickets any more
  5. Took a picture of the stock craptastic thermal paste on my chipset on my old motherboard. Pretty good quality for a K750i with a 2mp cam
  6. Groove Coverage - Because I Love You
  7. band name: Volapük (band) album name: Q Factor (Bicycles) Track 1: Parker Township, Clark County, Illinois Track 2: László Tihanyi Track 3: Rudi Assauer Track 4: List of cuneiform signs Track 5: División Mayor del Básquetbol de Chile Track 6: Helmut Krauss Track 7: Nickolas Grace Track 8: History of the Jews in Pakistan Track 9: Title II weapons Track 10: Noxon Rapids Dam Bonus Feature Length DVD Track: Cryptic Sounds: No Voices in Your Head 3 of those are musical - the band name, is a real band... track 2 is a composer, and the DVD is a megadeath album
  8. i really hope we win... it would be amazing to keep the world cup for another 4 years
  9. a lot of the ultra 120's have concave bases on them - this combined with a non flat IHS could mean that 2 cores are just getting hotter as they don't have as good contact - one good way to check is take the heatsink off and see what the thermal paste looks like... if it looks spread out and looks as if there has been good close contact then its ok - if it doesn't look like there has been, and the thermal paste looks like it did when you put it on - then it would mean there is poor contact in an area between the IHS and the base of the cooler. lapping a cooler is quite easy - my first go turned out fine on my Tuniq Tower 120, but lapping the IHS is more risky, as this will void any warranties and that is a lot of money to throw away i would just leave it for a week or so, making sure you fully load it a few times to help burn the thermal paste in - this may allow you to see some differences in temps... it would also be worth double checking how tight the cooler screws are
  10. there is usually a slight difference in core temps, but it isn't more than about 3-5 deg normally i think it must either be the cooler isn't very flat, or the cpu
  11. any chance you can take a photo of the thermal paste application before you put the heatsink on? - then it would be easier to judge if its the amount of thermal paste, the base of the cooler or the cpu
  12. i meant how much did samari use on his.... with that cpu you only need a thin line down the middle
  13. how much thermal paste did you use?
  14. damn... that is one hell of a shame - seems to always be the good drivers who lose their lives early he will be missed
  15. errm those 3 are for the speakers if you look from the back of the pc it should be: centre, back, front, mic - at least, that's what my one is like
