im thinking in investing in some tooling to resize the engine liners, this will effectively bring back the compression on worn liners so you can get a few more gallons out of them, the tooling is about

the tooling is a 3 part stage, the top of the liner is squeezed back to factory spec, the lower part just above the ports is also worked to make sure there is no leaking down the side of the piston.

remember that the liner is tapered, not a straight tube, thats why the clamps etc dont do a good job, sure they give pinch at tdc but dont put the factory taper back on nor create the fit of factory spec.

the idea is to give a good snug fit with just a little pinch at tdc, anymore and your just hammering the conrod to death.

a tapered sleeve is used with a compression ring to squeeze the taper, the taper is about .0005 over 2 inch so very little, but enough to create a taper at tdc.
