karlo888
Found out what was wrong with my second gearbox one of the gears was knackered Changed them for the HD / lightweight gears now Both are looking good now
grumpygramps
Looking good Karlo, won't be long now! Personally I'd tighten the nut on the spur gear right up and get rid of any slip. If you do that and you find that the spur gets a bit wonky in its rotation (I've found that can happen), then get rid of the spring, find a washer or two that fit on the shaft (can't remember exactly what size, maybe 5mm internal diametre..?) and tighten the nut right up against them as much as you can. I am trying to connect my mmm and leopard motor but am I right in saying the actual wires from the motor does not reach the mmm when they are in place on the Flux? If so, how did you guys get by this?? Thanks
carmst74
Just fit some motor extension wires to the motor, but dont cut the motor wires as they are part of the windings on the leapord motors
karlo888
thanks mate but is there a certain spec I need to get?? Anyone have pictures of this on their flux??
carmst74
Id say 10AWG wire should do the trick
karlo888
Cheers, now just need to source this thank god I did not just solder on the 6.5mm to the motor wires..lol
carmst74
This should do http://www.modelspor...-products/32064 Slightly smaller but should be ok Edited September 1, 2011 by carmst74
grumpygramps
Just fit some motor extension wires to the motor, but dont cut the motor wires as they are part of the windings on the leapord motors What difference would it make if you did cut the wires..?
carmst74
On more expensive motors, the windings are all inside the motor. On cheaper ones the windings extend out and become part of the wire. If you cut them, it damages the windings and essentially ruins the motor AFAIK
grumpygramps
I don't understand that tbh... The wires aren't part of the windings that is active within the magnetic field, and they're so short that they wouldn't have any effect on the electrical values of the circuit either, so what could the issue be with cutting them..? If someone knows otherwise then I'd love to be told I'm wrong! I've cut the wires slightly shorter on my Leopard anyway, and that still works.. Got it all done now but somehow does not feel as fast as the bullet flux I used to have?? is that how its meant to be?
Fluclear
Definitely not. My Flux seriously shifts. Though that doesn't mean it's the fastest thing out there. Edited September 7, 2011 by Fluclear
stebro
Looking good mate. Do you know what the final build cost was. Also are your battery box wrong way round? Mine has the clips facing out
karlo888
Fluclear :- will have to see what I have done wrong?? maybe just the wet ?? need to get a vid up, maybe that will help Stebro :-will work outthe final cost as I have...erm, 2 fluxes instead of one from everything I have The one that is up and running is not the original but a mix and match from a 25 and flux only thing that is 25 is the front and rear end cases, still bp diffs etc The battery boxes are the wrong way round as I did not get clips with these and also for better opening for batteries to get in Edited September 7, 2011 by karlo888
stebro
Ok mate. I just had mine out quickly for the first time. 4S tarmac tyres down the road. Must resist giving it full throttle as it end up on its roof
Nitroholic
I got a shell that could be described as a bit bashed up...but it's not split or ruined. It's off a nitro, so there is a big hole cut in the back for the nitro motor. Yours for £5 plus postage.
