  1. Can anybody help I have a Baja 5 b I get about 30 meters and it just cuts out please help
  2. Hi all. Bit of a back story to start with. I've been out of the rc game for about 10 years. My interest started again a month or so ago and I've been looking around for what to get. My two main criteria is it has to be a kit rather than rtr which seems to be all the rage right now and must be an off road buggy. I started looking at 2wd electric 1:10 scale but things have escalated a bit I've owned electric and nitro in the past and have always wondered about petrol and in particular the Baja. Now however when I find myself seriously looking into it I keep on seeing comments on how fragile it is, always breaking, unreliable, expensive parts and in general over priced. That being said they still seem to be very popular and currently out of stock in most places. I thought I'd turn to you fine fellows for your opinions. I'm still keeping an open mind as to what rc car to get. Electric 2wd kits seem ok but they just seem too fiddly and soulless with esc, fail safes etc. Nitro is slightly better but I do feel I've done that to death which leaves petrol. Hope y'all can help me decide. Also any comments from hpi baja owners on their experience would be greatly appreciated.
  3. ALL ITEMS NOW AVAILABLE AND ALSO ON EBAY DUE TO TIME WASTERS
  4. Having a bit of a clear out starting with my much loved OEM HPi Baja 5b SS. THIS CAR WILL HAVE NO RADIO GEAR due to me only running one handset. Purchased new by myself (SS Kit) and built with loads of TLC. Hand on heart, this car has had 4 very short low speed runs. I just don't have anywhere to use it without attracting complaints, so it's been shelved for some time. 26cc Engine (very low use, and was run in properly) Hi-Flow Air Filter New Big Digger Tyres Chrome Roll Cage RPM Front Bumper Race Exhaust Outwears pull start cover Underneath is UNMARKED (see pics) Shocks like new Kill Swith (Dynamite . . LED wired up by aerial) I have left one of my Kyosho receivers in it so can show buying car starts and runs). The reciever stays in the car because basically I can't be arsed stripping it out and have loads of them. Car can be collected from Southend area (I WILL NOT POST THIS OUT DUE TO VALUE) I will accept cash on collection or BACS (before collection) .......BUT NO JOY RIDERS OR TIME WASTERS. Car cost well into four figures ............ I will accept £600. NO OFFERS PLEASE NOTE:- I WOULD CONSIDER A STRAIGHTOR PART PX FOR THIS. YOU WOULD NEED A VERY GOOD CONDITION FLUX MODEL, TRUCK OR BUGGY, E-REVO, MAXX MONSTER, VORZA ETC TBH, looking around you will have trouble finding many OEM HPi Baja's, let alone a decent one like this. Also note, a lot of the KM and Rovan parts will fit these cars.
  5. Recently bought some Hostile MX 'Nightmares' rear tyres for my HPI Baja 5B SS as Ive heard many good reviews about them. I also want to know and im sure many would like to what people think are the bare essential items and/or mods for the Baja 5B. Currently Ive modified the stock roll cage by cutting in between the engine and the wing, then used 2 100mm steel tubes to reconnect the two parts together and pinned at both ends. This makes it a lot easier for when you need to remove the roll cage, when usually you have to remove the rear shock tower as well. I have windows on the roll cage which i designed and cut using a laser cutter at school. These prevent most of the heavy dirt, grass and water getting in. I have also just bought a top roll cage cover that was designed for the 5T and 5SC as it has more space around the spark plug, because i found before with the stock 5B one, whenever the car rolls over it hits the top of the spark plug, and also can be used as a handle when carrying. Ive got some custom made rubber shock covers made from bicycle inner tube as well as a pull-start and crankcase mesh mod. 1 other thing the Ive got the HPI Aluminum Tuned Pipe that came with the SS kit. What else do people suggest?
