  1. How about any of the Maverick range. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/maverick/rc-car-manufacturers/1163 Pretty sure there in cahoots with HPI aswell.
  2. Clear HB shell should be fine. Chassis length is same as stock. I still run about with my nitro HB stock shell. There`s also a Pro-Line Bulldog shell. http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/cml_product.php?productId=0000004833 - Pro-Line http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOT-BODIES-67825-D8T-BODY-CLEAR-CLEAR-1-8TH-STADIUM-TRUCK-BODY-SHELLS-/310945969224?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item4865d2f448 - Standard Stock
  3. Need a new soldering iron myself. Left it on over night in the station and I think it only gets hot enuff to melt the solder, but not enuff to bond it or make it hold to the iron. Just falls off the iron and wont adhere it seems :/ Hopefully just tip and I can fix that. What difference does the Wattage make? I have a 30watt, but see ones going up to 100w suggested.
  4. Firestorm without a doubt. Great 1st RC
  5. Pricing? Cause as stated above, this on 3s and Im in.
  6. Want to bling my Dex410 for me next? Loving the car you`ve built there mate. Looks stunning in the red.
  7. Got a C on order to replace my old Ansmann, purely as Ansmann is getting real hard to get hold of. Plus
  8. Need to double check, but pretty sure thats correct.
  9. Look up Flysky FS-GT3C then go to Youtube and lookup that and Hobbywing receivers (
  10. From my own experimenting. Started 4s 15t, got 35mph then 20t upto about 45mph on 4s and not bad now 5s 20t and get 55+mph on good run. Only prob I get is my motor gets rather hot after a while and ESC`s stops me. Or did today. But 5s seems a nice spot. 4s is good but not got that slight sliver of insanity to it. Pics btw And more once you get it put together and run What shell you using? Still run the kit shell. Love it, only Truggy like it. Plus the truggy itself is a great drive. Solid once built and easy to maintain. Also are you a Tekno?
  11. Well going beyond 2amps with that battery will cause problems. 2200mah = 2.2amps as best and highest rate. But not long, maybe max 35mins.
  12. Mainly from crashing into things. Rest of it was rock solid tho. But had a bit of a thing for snapping them. Tho fyi bit of Superglue/Poly Cement and you can stick a bulkhead together and run all day on it. (Done it.... lots )
  13. Buy a couple of these Literally the one and only part Ive broken on a Firestorm. In its life I think I went thru about 6-7 of them, and a couple of pins that fell out the back of the exhaust pipe. Great wee car and makes me wish I still had something with a bit of 2WD madness to it. Fondly remember a set of kerbs near my old flat that I used to run it at, simple as they were slightly angled and the Firestorm would then do a front flip over them. Will be great fun on brushless setup. Your a lucky dog indeed Enjoi
  14. Looks a job well done! Better not take away the railway!! Its too good!! Hell I,d happily volunteer to maintain it. And yeh soz I use PS and Illustrator for my vector stuff. Can swap stuff between the two pretty painlessly these days. Or just have them export straight to .svg (tho maybe need a plugin, not checked in ages).
  15. Used to go there all the time as a kid with my Gran, then round the corner to the model shop to stare in wonder at the awesome contents! Even got my 1st ever model from there. A balsa wood plane my butthole Dad never put together. (I was like 7yrs old). Worst part is he was a flipping joiner!! Anyways. Yeah I grew up with Barshaw, the Pony Express miniature railway etc. Best thing in the park. Love that railway!! I take it the BMX track is pretty decent for RC`s depending on school attendance levels? Not the road layout one, but the dirt area, assuming it`s still there? Will need to drag myself back over that way a day this summer. Southside bound these days, but still just 2mins from a park for obv reasons. Reason I ask about vinyl cutting is I can work my way round Photoshop etc and have a bit of a graphics/design background. Thus next time I need a shell doing I might call upon your machine if that`s ok?
  16. Looks good, but I can for see the issues occurring once anyone tries to go beyond 4s with it. Which kind of makes me think, just how much oomph can you get from a 4s 1/8th truggy. Wonder what size pinion and spur it has? Rather as in my own truggy, a 15t pinion on 4s was 30-35mph. With 5s and a 20t its nearer the 55mph mark. Tho a 20t pinion on 4s is good for 40mph+ (probably where this kit would max out). Plus the 100A Esc kind of bothers me also, as again if you go 5s that will probs not be sufficient. Mind you think at this point anyway the plastics will probs start to show there strength etc. Shock towers look a bit dodgy, but least its got a decent set of alloy shocks as standard. But id be a little dubious of ripping the stock electrics out and putting a 150A/4-6s setup in. One crash and Im sure front braces etc would go to cheese. Overall tho, for a cheap and probably decent (once geared) truck looks ok. Just be cautiously optimistic about strength maybe?
  17. I did a rather nice shell using liquid mask a while back, but sadly also used plastic paint instead of lexan, Needless to say as I removed my masking it caused the plastic paint to crack and came out rather shoddy and lacking detail. If it hadnt been for the stupid plastic paint I bought by mistake then it would of been much better I think. But with 2x
  18. Well, just back from my 1st wee bash now Im able to run 5s in my D8Te. (Its a v4 Tekno D8T) Heres some pics. The car started as Trackstar 2350kv 4s 15t pinion. Then 20t pinion, Then got a 5s and tried on Sky Toro ESC (Blew up!) After that put one of the new Hobbywing 150A`s in... So that leaves where I am now. Trackstar 2350kv motor / 20t pinion / Hobbywing 150A Esc All I can say about 5s is. PERFECT! So much fun over 4s, makes it come alive!! Tho think cause im not using a lower pinion I dont get the torque, and/or the Hpi Nubz I have on at the mo aint gripping enuff. Seemed to slip a little even on loose dirty when out today.
  19. Ordered a Flyskt GT3C on 30th, still waiting, where the hecks all the posties?

  20. Thnx, not all mine sadly. But should be, a D8T, TT01, E10, Dex410, Dex210, in there at least, few more I forget.... And as for the indoor track it would be racing? So Im driving one of the Dex410`s Originally had a longer edit, but movie maker bugs out in preview, so deleted lots, which I didn`t have to do, but oh well.
  21. Made this wee video from all the footage I collected this year and last. Enjoy.
  22. Always handy. Last few times I sent even a 4kg parcel with RM it was like
