I wouldn't to any of my trucks but especially not this, it has no rear suspension and minimal front end.. it will just bounce if any quicker than it is now.

Thanks Al, Paint is finished, the wrap hasn't worked really well but it adds to the effect want to get a logo made up for the side but not sure what.. thinking of the name for it being "deadbeat" in line with all the skulls. The colour is a green, gold, copper flip. Doesn't show well in the photos. Still loads to do on this, along with the Race truck, and my trailer. Then maybe I can get back to the Toybota LOL

Looks good. I have made hubcaps and beauty rings for wheels on my rat rod ford, fitted a flat bed and fuel tank on back of my King Hauler Rod, painted my low loader trailer... quite a productive day for a change.

@ Oh how original, heres sorry taken a while but the photos here will show you the really basic chassis. I have now got the bed sorted along with a fuel tank my mate has done on his lathe. The rear lights are the original marker lights from roof. That's it for now until the shell comes back from paint... this isn't a Rat rod anymore just a Rod

The shell is basically standard the only cut I did was to remove bed floor and put a flat plasticard sheet higher up to allow me to lower shell over chassis. Wheelbase, track etc are all unmodified

Yup that's the look I was aiming for, the wheels still need chrome centre caps but can't find any thing suitable at moment

Rebuild the shocks, use associated green slime on the seals and then fill with oil (if use no oil you will have a really bouncy ride as there is no damping for springs.) I build all my dampers with associated green slime and not one leaks.

Thanks to Tamiya Cowboy who donated this Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin shell, so I had to find something to do with it and the Alfa Guila M06 I had was donated to the project, once I changed chassis to short wheelbase it all lined up perfectly although to get body sat low enough at rear I had to chop out bed, and make new section higher up. I had planned to do a rat rod with a truck Im working on at the moment but that hasn't happened so I went with this as the rat rod. The body was primered, then painted white, then primer and then a coat of ford pacific blue. I then set about sanding away through the coats to give a much used look. The rust is Deluxe Scenic Rust and is a kit that includes iron filings (very fine) and a rhin white glue (I think its watered down PVA) that you mix together then apply to the item you want rusting. After this dries you brush on the included blue fluid that must be an oxidising fluid... 8 or so hours later the rust has mostly developed. Im really happy with the result, the bed load will be altered its just like that at moment to hide the raised area to clear M06 suspension. In the last photo it is sat on back of my mates, King Hauler recovery truck... the rear bed is motorised and slides back and angles to allow trucks/cars be winched aboard.

I need a heng long tank 1:16, I would prefer a non working one ideally. I only need the lower hull, tracks, road wheels etc. I don't need gearboxes, radio gear. Please let me know what you have. Thanks

Thanks, that is running an carson poison motor which is a low turn motor (not sure how many turn) but use a 55t motor in another truck.

Sorry no updates for a while but had limited internet access. Got it out in the sun at Haydock Park for some photos it is almost complete now just needs the bends for exhaust that are out for chrome, to re stick the lights underneath the chassis and have some marker lights to fit under the back arches.

No running vids yet sorry, it does run but I still have bits to do... however I have a driver. Some say...
