kk2 is great for beginners, and even intermediate, can be made to be dosile or agile, and the ability to tune it in the field is brilliant. ideally you need a 5ch transmitter, so you can toggle the autolevel. but if you are willing to go down the GPS route, get the 3d robotics APM 2.6with an external gps/compass module yes, it takes some time to get going, and yes you need to set stuff transmitter wise, but the benefits out way that considerably. its INCREDIBLY stable, even in the standard stabilize mode, i can let my fingers off the sticks and it just sits there, my KK2 copters kinda wander. it can literally fly itself, great for FPV, can land itself if something goes wrong, eg loss of signal, return to home, all sorts of things, basically turns it from a toy to a proper UAV been toying with the idea of using it to deliver beer to my mates in town!
