  1. Cheers guys. Might possibly check it out tomorrow. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Hi everyone Is that quarry still accessible/usable? I'm other side if stockport but always looking for somewhere interesting for my Baja. Tim Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Ok - the hpi part is discontinued. Any other alternatives? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Hi Managed to break a rear shock shaft today and unfortunately must places don't seem to have them in stock. Googling, they look very similar to an hpi part 6879. Same length, diameter, thread at each end and a little shoulder at one end. I can't tell whether the threads are the same though without getting some delivered. Before I do, does anyone know if these are interchangeable? Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Always loved the Wild One ever since I had one as my first Rc car. Bought a re-release but it's never been used (and won't be)! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Yep. I'm in stockport (Cheadle Hulme). Always looking for somewhere to have a go. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Cheers - I'll try that tomorrow Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Sounds similar - it had been running for maybe 5-10 mins before it started doing it. It was the relatively sudden change that confuses me though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  10. Hi guys, sorry been rather hectic recently. I think it must be the picture and an illusion. The clutch is centred and tight on the crank. The clutch bell rotates smoothly round it when in place. Did order a couple of new springs before I saw yours posts but not a waste to have them ready anyway. I'm at a loss womdering what it is. I'd almost wonder if the engine is just too rich now, but it was a pretty quick change from going ok (half throttle or so for break on) to struggling to. Tried again in the garden today. A couple of times it started moving at a reasonable pace but only after I put full throttle on. The other couple of times it bogged down and killed the engine. The only other thing was that there was cut grass in the field I was in. Is there any reason why this could give the symptoms? This thing is bugging me now! I'm in Stockport if anyone can help - willing to travel within reason 'cod I'm at a loss. I've got a couple of videos I took trying to see what happened - I'll post links. 11. Thanks a lot - really appreciate the advice. Will try a new one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I see what you mean. Would that give symptoms described? In my ignorance, Wouldnt a stretched spring be slacker and therefore mean that the shoes are flung out more easily and the clutch engages sooner? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Hi, I've disassembled again to reach the clutch. I can see what looks like a couple of triangular arrows next to two of the holes and pointing in an anticlockwise direction. This seems right for the direction of travel. There seems to be quite a lot of brownish marking on the clutch shoes and very little inside the clutch bell. Whether this is appropriate for only 10mins running I have no idea. I've attached a photo. Any help appreciated. Thanks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks - I'll check. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Yes - checked it. The shoes have plenty of material on them and the spring seems tight. I can't move the shoes myself. Is that normal? I'm assuming that it's meant to be quite tight. I'll check whether it's backwards but it did work ok for the first 10mins so id assume it's unlikely. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hi everyone I mentioned this is another thread of started about something else but have investigated further and little struggling. I was running in by Baja and after about 10 mins, it was struggling to move even with quite high revs. Took it apart today and can't find anything obvious. Gearbox seems fine Engine starts and runs fine When I apply revs it sometimes moves (very slowly) when I apply quite high revs and other times bogs down and has on one occasion stalled the engine No funny noises at all. It feels like the clutch is slipping bit it's brand new and I can't see why it would. Any ideas ? Tim Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Hi Everyone, Thanks for all the advice. It was a simple as the fact that the switchblade was enabled. Started running around and all was going well. However, something has come up - I haven't investigated yet but thought I'd ask here. Seems to have lost drive. Engine runs fine, but when I apply throttle the revs dip, it 'sits down' a little but doesn't move. Gearbox all seems fine - turning one rear wheel causes the spur gear to turn. If I stop the spur gear then the differential operates and the other rear wheels urns in opposite direction. It sounds like something has come loose to me - perhaps clutch related? Like I say, I've not had a chance to investigate but if anyone can point me in a sensible direction, I'd appreciate it. Thanks Tim Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Haven't tried yet - kids are in bed and I'll get shot trying to start it in the garden. Job for tomorrow... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks Chris but it was a Blonde moment I think. Hadn't read the switchblade instructions recently and suspect it was in the off position and therefore no spark! Might be a beginner at this, but I'm pretty certain no spark will mean no engine running Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Hi everyone, Back in January in picked up a new Baja. Due to work commitments got it built but never managed to even try to start it. Finally tried tonight with a friend and we couldn't get it to start at all despite following all the guidance we could. I'm new to petrol and large scale so a bit in the dark as to what to try. Can anyone give any suggestions or is there anyone in the Stockport (Cheadle) area that would be willing to help? Thanks Tim Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks Trip Point taken but I'm not sure it addresses why it would return the servo to the last position - this just seems dangerous. Potentially, (ignoring a killswitch for the moment) a driver could just have reached the model when it charges off again at full speed. Personally, it seems preferable to have the potential to burn out a servo rather than have a model charge off uncontrollable! I've spoken to the helpful people at MS and they have asked for the receivers back to test. I'll see what comes of it Tim
  22. Thanks for the confirmation as That's what I was doing pretty much. I'm going through testing all my R5s and so far so don't work and one does. The ones that don't work flash three times or so and then of solid when pressing the set button. The one that does work keep flashing until I release the button. Spoke to hobby co who have taken over ansmann since ansmann racing was closed and they are happy to test the receivers but did say that I shouldn't expect it to be quick! Tim
  23. Hi everyone Thanks again for the advice. Firstly, I've ordered a killswitch! However, I'd still like to get to the bottom of the failsafe issue as I don't like not understanding why it's not behaving. I've tried the same receiver with a different servo with the same results. In addition, I've tried another model which has the same model of receiver, again with the same results. I've found a video on YouTube describing how to set it up, and that's exactly what I'm doing. Starting to irritate me now, Any ideas? Tim
  24. Thanks for all the help guys. I've got several of the same receiver, although I haven't tried the failsafe before. I'll try again on other models later today. Tim
  25. Hi The way I read the manual was that the fail safe fails to the servo position it's at when you push the set button on the receiver. Ill read it again tonight Thanks Tim
