  1. Wish I had converted to lwb sooner than I did, it makes a real difference in handling, a lot more planted than the short buggy 👍
  2. I have just checked some nano-tech 2200 that I have that are shorter than the normal ones that I use in the emb, they aren't selling them any more on hobbyking I just had a quick search, they've been in storage for quite a long time they might not charge, I got them with a gtb and only used them for a short time before storage charging and putting away. I'll probably check them when I have the buggy ready.
  3. Can anyone tell me the battery tray measurements for this, I am leaning more towards getting one when they're back in stock 😆
  4. This is what I use in mine, they are possibly the last ones out there but I've never ordered from these before, they also have the 5580kv sensored motor which is meant to be a very good motor, the none sensored if currency conversion is correct £46 with delivery if they are delivering at this time. https://www.kullagergrossisten.se/product/borstlos-motor--4-pol--5160v--1-14-1-16--3-17mm-axel--leopard
  5. Lol, maybe time to try get hold of the truggy motor if you can before they disappear.
  6. When you get the motor it would be interesting to see how you find it, I know the 6850kv is discontinued and the 6150kv is the highest kv for that particular motor now. I don't know the reasons for the motors being discontinued not just the high kv tenshock but the 2850 lc truggy motor too because that is a good motor with plenty of torque to run the truggy really well, the leopard 2838 motors both sensored and unsensored stop being produced a while ago and they are my favourite out of them all.
  7. Lol, we can all be guilty of doing that at some point, probably wait until you've got the buggy and it is up and running then you can decide if you want extra from there. Si.
  8. As far as I am aware 6850kv isn't going to be in stock over here, it will be discontinued and only be limited to what's left in stock from the places that are still selling it like aliexpress and direct from tenshock. Pinion size is dependent on what you're doing, I have tried all 3 that come with it. Si
  9. Yes I put 6850 in my son's buggy, it was quick, it lasted about 9 months before it started to get very hot and cog badly I took it out and it was very stiff to turn, I have another one in the spares box too but I haven't used that as yet so I don't know if it was a one off thing, the best motors I have found and that I use in mine is the 2838 leopard 4 pole 5200kv, using 19t pinion it is quick and has never missed a beat the only problem is they are discontinued. The cheap 2845 motors from banggood don't seem to bad as mentioned before they have a few to choose from and cheap. Si
  10. With the motors used in the emb's you shouldn't have any issues with the 60a esc, the 6850kv tenshock has a max rating of around 70amp I believe but that would be bursts not a constant.
  11. The banggood motor that I have If i remember rightly is a surpass motor and it was pretty good, I have since seen the surpass 2845 the other day someone running one in a mini8 truggy with good results. The price is so low its definitely worth a try. Si
  12. I see I miss read the post, I have the esc in my truggy and yes in a short wheelbase buggy it would be a squeeze although I fit a big trackstar esc in my short buggy raising the body mounts to fit it in, it wasn't to much of a neat install because I am lazy and didn't trim down the wires lol, it's in my lwb now which to be honest I wish I had converted to lwb earlier it makes for a more stable buggy and plenty of room to sit everything on the chassis. Si
  13. Yes I don't like them as much as the leopard motors, I still run leopard 5200kv in my lwb buggy it still runs perfectly and the smaller 2435 leopard in my gtb, I have spare leopard motors too the stock truggy motor is pretty good too, I put the tenshock 6850kv in my sons emb and it is fast but not smooth really, it's a shame the leopard are discontinued and the truggy motor is discontinued and the 6850kv tenshock has too so I've been told now aswell. I did buy a cheap 2845 5900kv from banggood and tried it in my son's and to be honest it was quite good although it wasn't in there long enough to see how reliable it is i still have it i might try it in the truggy and test it compared to the stock truggy motor. Si
  14. There's another version of the esc model number HW30108000 that has wires already soldered on, just needs the 3.5 mm bullets for the motor and then solder what ever connection you want for your batteries. Si.
  15. Take a look for that esc on ebay or other shops, they are really good, you don't need the fan on either so they are nice and compact to fit under the body. Stock motors are now the tenshock 4850kv, if you wanted to upgrade that then the higher kv tenshocks are great, if you want a really fast buggy the 6850kv version tenshock will make it very fast. http://www.tenshock.com/1-14-4-pole-9-slot-brushless-sensor-2838motor-for-lc-emb-1h-buggy-ts-x1401.html
  16. As mentioned the lc truggy motor is perfect, I run the lc truggy with this motor and it is really a good one https://m.aliexpress.com/item/4000881482827.html You may need to buy the exotek big bore motor mount to fit the slightly larger can motor as stock are 24mm. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fp%2F3019042898 And as posted a little further up by Alex97 this esc is very good too which I also run in my truggy https://www.modelsport.co.uk/hobbywing-quicrun-10bl60-sensored-bl-esc/rc-car-products/382832 Si.
  17. The tenshock motors are good, the lc racing truggy 2850 4500kv motor is also very good if you can get hold of one, this is on ebay but shipped from USA. Or from aliexpress. https://www.ebay.com/itm/201914128556 https://m.aliexpress.com/item/4000881482827.html?pid=808_0000_0101&spm=a2g0n.search-amp.list.4000881482827&aff_trace_key=df677e099fa54e0c98a47bdcfedd2e78-1579753700383-03825-VnYZvQVf&aff_platform=msite&m_page_id=3874amp-5VL12QtMFzeKEKuowgpZ7w1587853858082&browser_id=595f6288e8e3404fbeeaf8ee89315862&is_c=N I run one in my lc truggy and it is very good. Si.
  18. They've gone up by a couple of pence https://www.ebay.com/itm/273875288650
  19. Bought some shock top protectors for £2.33 from China, they're not too bad to be honest. Si
  20. I think that it must be the earlier models that came with the oils, I could be wrong but now I think about it lc racing released a statement about oils not being included because of the shipping regulations changing. Si
  21. It should come with some diff grease and oils as above it was quite a few years ago when I bought mine and since then just use my own oils, tyres do need glue I normally use some thin super glue, paint I tend to go for core rc they are pretty good for the money but it's up to you really on brand of paint. Si.
  22. I use these lipo's ^^^^ too and they are very good, clip the tabs on the battery tray and they fit perfectly. Si
  23. Probably cheaper to go direct to phat bodies. https://www.phatbodies.co.uk/product/losi-mini-8ight-carisma-gt14b-kaboom-truggy Si.
  24. That's a great price, I was looking to buy one but I have the lwb emb-1 and truggy aswell as the mini 8 and gtb still but no doubt I will talk myself into getting one soon enough I recon . Si.
  25. I bought the truggy motor direct from Jonny for £34 including postage. I bought the truggy body from him also for £10, might be worth seeing what he has, the lc12b1 he was selling for £164. He is UK based. Si
