well the water in the sink wouldn't drain away. we put the washing machine on and it flooded the kitchen but the water in the sink drained away. put the washing machine off. filled the sink with more water again and now it won't drain away! not sure if it's worth getting a plumber out. would the heavy snow have affected it? got about a foot here..

it probably froze the drain in the back garden.Your dishwasher and sink probably connect together under sink ( not always ) and drain off through one pipe. Either that or they are blocked with crud

not the main drain though just the small one that the dishwash goes ( sorry wash machine) goes in
