  1. +1 on the hitec 5755. more torque at 6v than the 5765 which i am using for steering at the moment.
  2. http://www.rcbodysho...m_store=default wheel base list at the side is helpful
  3. good looking build, but overshadowed by the top class table it's sat on.....lol
  4. yeah, as Mike says, probably not lined up . I found a large magnet helps holding them together for pushing back in the casing and the pins keep it lined up
  5. the king motor is a Hurrax clone what about the FTX Destroyer? The Maverick is a Redcat Rampage clone and not without issues
  6. +1 on the punisher. A lot of car for the money. I have an MCD W5 and whilst its a great car does require a fair bit of maintenance Also have an FG Marder. Not as good a basher as a HPI Baja style buggy, but great fun none the less. RC car online .de have some good deals on Marder clones at the moment
  7. I have made a mould out of a lexan monster beetle shell....then spent weeks (about an hour a night) getting a shine on it have also made an MCD W5 mould (not 100% perfect) and Losi 5T bonnet and rear wings....still working on the shine on these It isn't too hard....practice and patience required, i've made a few now and fibreglassing isn't my trade
  8. I've never had a problem with Simons FG spares either, but that mould has seen better days. To get a decent shell out of it, it would need to be smooth and shiney. A shell out of that mould will look like its had a hard life straight away. It could be fixed, but its a lot of filling and rubbing down with 1200 grit wet and dry.....and gelcoat is very tough to rub down
  9. http://www.kamtec.co.uk/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53&category_id=8&page=shop.browse&limitstart=0&limit=50&vmcchk=1&Itemid=53 should be something here
  10. the truggy version (they are all fg marder clones) is available new for
  11. an air leak will cause the engine to rev high, but shouldn't stop after 10 seconds. Check that you don't have a blocked tank breather hole, do all the checks listed above. If it still won't work, try leaning the lsn by a 1/16 of a turn
  12. wings create downforce on full size cars about 80-100mph and up if your baja does 30mph....that's scale speed of 150mph At top speed my Marder with beetle shell was more stable with wing than without
  13. do you have the size? i get most of my bearings from bolton bearings on ebay
  14. yeah, it will eventually ruin the shell but if you make a mold then it won't matter
  15. Hope to have mine back together for this. Looks to be a 1st class weekend
  16. The Elcon arms are top notch. Have the extended arms on my Marder and never had any problems. Why not use your lexan shell as a mold and make your own fibreglass shells?
  17. always liked the Hurrax. seen a few perform well. How does the RCMK head perform? seen it go in a baja5b and it went like a rocket. Has it the torque to spin up 4wd?
  18. bag of cement, 40 foot of rope, tie one end to the bag and the other to the back of your car. never have a runaway again....lol
  19. i would start at 1 1/2 on the high needle better to start a bit rich than too lean
  20. yes....or get a kitchen style measuring jug and mix up 5L in your petrol can (just be accurate at the pump)
  21. have just filled my bottle to the 1L mark (1.050L of petrol) to get it to the 25-1 mark i have to add 145ml more in my opinion this is far too much oil (25-1 should be 40ml to every litre) i use this bottle http://www.amazon.co.uk/2-stroke-Oil-Fuel-Mixing-Bottle/dp/B001TQS5SS/ref=sr_1_1?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1346665809&sr=1-1 and measure my oil with one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/EDU-LAB-POLYPROPLENE-MEASURING-CYLINDER-100ML/dp/B004MHU99E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1346665914&sr=8-2
  22. mixing bottles are very in-accurate. the bottle i have is 1.050litres to the 1 litre petrol mark and running it at 32-1 (31ml of oil to 1l of petrol) won't get it anywhere near the 50-1 mark. You may be using far too much oil, which will foul the plug. Try cleaning the plug then using it again
