  1. Obviously not knowing you, the mods (before I even saw the comment) followed by myself didn't know of your sense of humour either. Which is why you probably had that warning posted there as they thought it was disrespectful before I even saw it. It did seem that you were just being that way by the way you typed the messege, but now we know of your wit for the future too
  2. Indeed. After just a week or normal use around the living room if it develop's a fault it's due to the manufacturer. I did send them a photo, and they agreed and replaced the part as needed, which of course is good customer service on modelsport's part. I'll definately continue to use them and recommend the site to firend's whom are also going to purchase a micro. I'd also like to thank the mod who put the staff note up, I found mydoddy69's comment very rude and offensive. Someone's financial status is no one else's buisness. I am not a child, I am a 32 year old man and do read and follow the manual and checked it over before use and followed instructions, it's commmon sense to do so with this sort of thing. I then used it on a non plush flat carpet chasing my cat around who loved it too. I thank you for your help and support in previous post's, even the offer to help fix it for me. I did not appriciate your previous comment, there was no need for that.
  3. To be honest, I wont shell out a penny more for something that should be fit for purpose for more than a week. Yes, these day's every penny counts It's only been a couple of day's, two phone call's and one email to sort it out. The new transmission set arrived today and it's up and running again and actually seem's better than what it was like with the original one, so I'm guessing it was a manufacturing error for it to be stripped that quickly going round inside on carpet. All's good now anyway, and they have have some good customer service. I will however be looking into modding it to use a metal gear in there, that will save gears being stripped.
  4. Thanks very much for the posts people I sent a pic of the stripped gear to Modelsport and they have agreed that since the car is only around a week old they now don't need me to ship it back to them for reapair. Mainly due to the cost being more than that which is to be replaced. Instead they have asked Losi to ship not just the gear, but a whole new transmission to me since they don't have one in stock themselve's: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=34837 That way they wont have to pay postage for the entire box either way which would cost more than the part it's self.
  5. If the Diff's are gone after just 7 light use's around my living room carpet, with not even enough space to gain any speed, then I don't think much of it. I have only had the car 7 day's, used it once a day round my living room for 15 or so mins each time. I have contacted modelsport and they said I can send it back for a repair, but can't just replace it due to the nature of the item. I'm a 32 year old man, not a child who abuse's thing's like this, I dont have that kind of money to throw away and don't believe I should have to pay out more after just seven use's. Seven days of use is certainlly not fit for purpose, and the wear and tear should last a lot longer than that. A closer look at the cog: It certainlly looks like it's worn compared with: http://www.rcaddict.co.uk/spare-parts/diff-gear-set.html and from another user: http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/2519/p1010314n.jpg It looks pretty worn already as it's mean to join onto the 4 copper colour cogs seen in the centre of this pic: Could that be the problem after just 7 runs? If so then it's pretty steep in price for such low quality parts from Losi
  6. I've tightened the slipper (and loosened just in case), beofore and after taking the gearbox/diff apart. I'm not sure anbout the inside on what to look for? What is 'shimming' and how do you do it? Here are some pic's, though I'm not sure if your able to tell anything from them: Motor and pinion: If I turn the dog bone on the left side the other wheel doesn't turn: If I turn the wheel on the right side, the left wheel will turn: The Gear box/diff: I'm not sure what the wheel drive is? The pinion is fine on the motor shaft, I can see bot that and the big white cog spinning without it going forward, which leads me to believe that it's something inside the gearbox thingy. After taking the gearbpx apart, putting it back together and running it, it seemed to run fine for a minute or two, then just started doing the same thing again. This is quite frustrating, as I'm sure it's somthing simple, but don't understand what's going on. Hatzy Yep, as explained above.
  7. As title. Used it 7 time's (I have been keeping track of the charges) I have had my Micro DT for about a week now, and have had some great fun with it running around the living room. I have not been outside with it, I have only drove it around my living room and kitchen. When I have had a full battery usually I put it on the floor and hit almost fulll throttle and it zips across the room like there's no tomorrow. Now however when I do this it either hardly moves, or does not move at all. If I hold it in the air and pull the throttle the wheels fly round, as soon as I put it on the floor and do the same, it just wont move at all like it did the past 6 times I have used it, but the motor still spins fully, it just doesn't push the wheels around when on the floor like it did. I read up on the forum and google about the motor running hot, tested this theory but the motor is stone cold after I try to use the car. So it is not an over heating issue. I also read that the gearbox can be tight, so I loosened it, but that didn't help. I'm quite new to the hobby again, so get a little confused over the technical talk, but I'm at quite a loss and miss using it already and would really appriciate some help and advice I bought it from modelsport, so I'm not sure if I should send it back for a new one, or if it is just something simple that can be fixed. I eagerly await your advice, and thanks in advance
  8. Well I have had a fun day today, ordered the DT yesterday with the extra few bits for the next day delivery. The package was still processing after 3pm yesterday so I got in touch with Modelsport whom got it processed and sent out for delivery today. Thanks to Modelsport for that their service is second to none There was however a mishap with the delivery company, UK Mail Buisness Post. The package failed to arrive. The driver swears blind that he tried to deliver the package, but nobody was at home. This is either a lie, or he tried to deliver to the wrong address as my step father waited in all day from 8am to 6pm, 10 hours in total. He is in a wheel chair, and was sat at the window all day and not one delivery van came down the road, let alone knocked on the door. We have been in contact with the local deopt and re arranged the delivery for tomorrow morning before 12. Don't get me wrong I know it is not a fault of modelsport, and I have found their service second to none, it's just the delivery company used in this case. I'm probably one in a minority that has been caught out by a driver not able to do his job properly, or running too late to finish his/her job, but it happened. I hope not to have this delivery company again, rather Royal Mail Special Delivery or a more competent courier. But all being well it will now be delivered tomorrow just in time for the weekend to take away with me. I'll be on to the delivery company if it isn't here by noon, as I wont have my step father or myself wasteing 10 hours again due to their incompetance.
  9. Thanks for the offer, but I just managed to order one before the 2pm cut off, cash taken etc.... I'm sure someone will offer you something now you have remembered the thread and bumped it up tris
  10. hehe I'll try my best For the indoor side of thing's I'm sure you'll agree that the Losi is a major upgrade from what I'm chasing the cats round with a the moment: 1:43 scale
  11. I would if I were made of money The thought did cross my mind, but I would have to save up again and I'm a 'I want it yesterday' kind of man I think I'll be going for the DT though, as there is going to be more space to work with in there, and I have some idea's for making my own body's which would work better on the DT than the T. Thanks for all the advcie and I'll post some pics when I get it through the post
  12. Thanks for the reply. I'll stick to either the Micro T or the Micro Desert Truck, as I want that small scale at this time. I don't mind sourcing and changing for the alloy gearbox when/if needed. Having owned both, which did you find the best for: ( This series of questions are aimed to current and previous owner's of the models, just to make it clearer for me to understand ) speed ? jumping ? landing ? durability ? Do they both have about the same ground clearance? (obviously this will change if I put the raminator's wheels on either) Are they both fine for outside? (tarmac, compacted dirt) I'll probably work it oput from the answer's to the above questions, but which is the best overall for what I'd like to use them for? (indoor and outdoor fun and stunts) cheers
  13. Thanks for the reply, but I'm only wanting advice on weather to get either the Micro T or Micro Desert Truck.
  14. As title: I'm currently pondering which of the Losi Micro's is going to be best suited for me, and I'd really appriciate yet more advice to push my decision. I have done my research here and googleing, and found answer's to most of my questions. I now know how to make a custom body and make a home made vacuum forming machine, start off in painting a body (yet still some I don't quite understand in that area), amd which upgrades I start with and will eventually get around to. The only thing left is to choose between the Micro-T or the Dirt Truck. I understand that the DT is a clear fave among many, mainly bue to being an inch longer and take corner's easier because of this and it's bigger body can accomodate more mods like lipo battery, light's and other goodie's that can be cooked up. Then I also see that many favour the Stadium for it's speed and jumps, but no t so much it's landing's and ground clearence. Though the ground clearence of both can be highered witht he high roller's tires/wheels. I also believe that the micro T is lighter, and I may get more run time from the battery because of this, though I doubt it will be enough to warrent a purchase based on that alone. I am wanting either of the above for use both inside on carpet/rug's and outside on pavement and compacted dirt. I also want to have a slight sense of speed from stock, not too slow, but not too fast at this time at least. I'd also like to be able to do some half decent jumps, and have enough weight to land them safely. I know I'll need that little extra ground clearence for the rugs I have and for the dirt outside. So I'll probably order the tires, threaded shafts for the wheel's and bearings at the same time as ordering the Micro. (please state if I have gotten mixed up with any of the above parts, but I think those items are best to buy together) I have read: The very informative thread stickie's on microtforums, which have helped a lot and the other thread here that is very helpful, but it is quite overwhelming to remember everything in one go I'm thinking the DT will best suit me, but I like them both and can only afford one, as I'm also buying a 1:10 scale for grasslands use What do you think will be best for my needs? (please take into account that I'm not going to be getting a faster motor or lipo battery etc.... any time soon) Any advice will be greatly appriciated cheers
