    Hyper 8

Yup it looks like im going to have to pass the Hyper 8 onto someone else! Never having used buggy's before i wasnt sure if I would like it or not, in the end i've decided I dont have the time anymore to go racing regularly and going up and down fields is boring. So im looking to trade the Hyper 8 for something i can use occasionally to hit the odd ramp now and again....by the looks it; my last RC for a while. Specifically Im looking for a Revo(3.3) or a Savage X. The Hyper 8 has a STS D21E Pullstart engine (washers under engine mount to enable the extra height needed for the pullstart engine) fitted which has just finished one gallon of O'Donnells 25%. Its in extremly good condition and never been missused with after-run oil always used. It comes fully boxed and with instruction manual. This is also one of the later models with the upgraded red brake pads. I also have 3 spare wings (worth £18), one entire JE Spares Screwkit (worth £15), New Spare Ally Steering Knuckles (worth £8) and filled all 3 diffs with diff oil in 3k/7k/7k. Also will be chucked in a spare set of wheels and tyres, the grip on them has almost gone but they were used in break-in which was done on road and are used for muck about. The good set are barely used with excellent amount of thread left, two tyres have come loose so you'll need to just glue that. Electrics (TX,RX and Servos) wont be included but the truck being traded doesnt need to have electronics so you can install them into the Hyper. Shell was sprayed by myself and is in very good nick with just some chips off the paint but nothing major and still looks very nice . Pictures, click to enlarge: Note: One wheel nut is missing but being replaced Monday and the exhaust tip is misshaped but has made no difference. So offers on trades and il bung a price of £300 including insured p&p.

    17mm Wheel Nuts

Firstly, IM BACK Secondly, im in need of some (well only 1) 17mm wheel nut. Cheap as chippys please....
  3. Wooo Ace in the Hyper 8 = overkill lol. That should be hauling once properly tuned and adjusted for your track. I used mine for the first time in some loose gravely area and it was incredible. It just glided around with ease.
  4. Well he's had one rod go due to high rev's i presume on another engine (cruddy GX-15 but that was run on Model Technics....). Anyway this little blighter has no marks around the split part of the rod to show it was due to high revs, just clean split. Hence why its very likely to be factory fault. He's thinking of getting it sold now if they do replace the engine and saving some dough to buy a Hyper 7 which should be a far cry better.
  5. Yay my first nitro rc! Its amazing see it again! Good old Kyosho Spider ( I had MKI i think..). Lovely little thing and hope you keep it for a while.
  6. Yeh sounds definatly like a factory fault. Well lets hope ripmax sort him out and do the repairs!
  7. RC Universe is worth $1,639,362. Ebay is worth $54,464,330
  8. Well today went for a little bash with my mate who has a Fun Factor. Darn fast in a straight line so we were hoping to set out a course and race. Well first tank, we fired up to warm engines up and tune. Half way through his tank however there was the dreadfull sound of the engine stopping while picking up revs. Upon break down, con-rod snapped clean, and piston + sleeve very tight and marked. He's only ran 1.5gallons and has looked after it well and been using Tornado 20%. Just wondering if anyone else has seen or used this engine? Just to me it seems easily like a factory fault so i've told him to send Ripmax (UK distributor or CEN) an email. I mean 1.5gallons and been treated very very well yet con-rod snapped. His breakin was also good with getting heat to the engine quickly. Not 100% sure how he broke it in but he's had a few before and definatly went for a method of getting heat fast to the engine.
  9. You must be carefull when charing 2 packs at once if the charger is only designed for one pack. If one is peaked but the other is still charging, the overall voltage will still be lower than what the charger needs to cut off. Therefore it will carry on charging both and possibly damage one. I normally charge 2 batteries upto 1/2way (normally condition of both are roughly same before hand) and then finish them off individually. BTW I have the same one as Hpi_matrix_stock just created a cable so i have 2 deans connectors on the end for charging 2 packs.
  10. I've got both, Brushless RC18T + Hyper. Although the hypers are lighter, depending on which you choose you might need a starterbox which will weigh a ton. However i rarely use my RC18T! Just around the garden every now and again but only when im bored. The hyper definatly is the best option but ensure you get it with a pullstart engine.
  11. I know what you mean, after you spend a lot of money (and time) on an rc it gets personal to you and you wish you were rich enough to keep both! Hyper doesnt need much spent on it though. I was interested in the longer chassis though. Shame its so steep but then again its anodised like stock.
  12. Damnit lol. Tell us how its goes buddy. I want to hear how it compared with your savage. Im getting more and more fond of mine. Just gave it a strip down yesterday and its such a simple buggy yet with brilliant features here and there for strengthening. Got a staterbox ready? Dont forget a vid . In fact what are you doing inside, GO OUT AND USE IT!
  13. Arg is that the S7 for like £15, just needs new piston and liner? I wanted that for my Hyper lol!
  14. lol terrorist plot leads to NHS problems in the UK - only in the lounge! I think its incredible they stopped this. Lots of people would of died for no reason but bitter anger. Its just a shame we cant seem to stop israel dropping on lebanon. I heard a dreadfull statistic from the UN that 1/3 of casualties are children. Thats sickening. Lets hope something is done about that too soon though.
  15. Ok then fella's, next time im out im going to hit the ramps hard. HARDER THAN EVER BEFORE! Well maybe not but still. Seems everyone has confidence in the little bugger so il see what its capable of.
  16. Im very interested in the 3.3. Looks like it could handle best of both worlds and since im not a mad man basher or pro racer, it would suit me fine. But truggys look sooo nice!!! lol Must refrain myself. I just dont feel like pushing the hyper 8 pro hard over ramps. It just doesnt look like it should be used as a basher even though it has held up better than i thought on a few landings.
  17. As you know i've got me a Hyper 8 which i do enjoy using. Handles incredibly and is very fast. The only problem i have with it is that im not racing it really. At the moment im more of a basher and so im considering maybe changing it for a truggy. The reason im saying truggy instead of MT is that way i will still have the ability to race fairly well if i do choose to go to a track (1.5 hours away in the car which is the problem ) and after using the Hyper, im getting used to the brilliant handling and going back to MT's will be another shock! Before i am make the jump (or if i even do), how strong are some truggys? Would they cope a good bashing and are they good in the air? Another possibilty might be to go for a Revo 3.3. Heard they handle well and getting to a race standard doesnt cost much and they seem nimble and i've heard they can take a beating. Just looking for some info at the moment! Thanks people
  18. Was having a quick ganders on the net and looked into the HPI site. Found this nifty little video about how to start and tune the baja (i presume its the same with all petrols). HPI Baja Video Shame it didnt go over how to treat the engine over the first tank or so but i guess thats described in the manual which this fella did tell you to read

    film 4

Aii my freeview box downstairs still calls it More4+1 (channel 31). But the one upstairs says it Film 4. Just tune to channel 31 *i think*. TBH there have been a few OK films. I watched one about some ex-criminal who ended up killing someone and then having to do a job yada yada yada and there was the Hong Kong film called Internal Affairs in subtitles which had an interesting story line of having an undercover triad working in the police and an undercover cop working in the triads. Sounded OK but it wasnt as good as i was hoping. Still alright. .
  20. If you buy from the US. TBH I think it will retail just under £500 when in the UK. From what i've seen, its normally a slightly smaller "number" from the american price but in £. If that makes sense.... The JR radios are perfectly fine but they always seem to be on 75mhz and that frequency is illegal here. JR also produce 27mhz versions which are synthesised but instead, Losi give you thier slop which has 27mhz crystals but is otherwise the same radio. Never liked that, why cant they just ship the 27mhz JR Synthesised radios to the UK. Grrr
  21. James ignore that $999.99. Load of bull. Horizon hobby (not sure how they're linked with losi but im sure they are somehow) have a price of $549.99. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Defau...ProdId=LOSB0018
  22. Dude that looks fairly adapted from LST range but keeps the the typical losi features. I really like it. But as with the Losi 8ight, does look "plasticy" when compared to other Truggys out there. Equipped with the Mach 427 aswell which is a small powerhouse. Overall looks interesting but the shots of it without the shell are a bit to small still: Is that wing not a tadge too high
