I got a jammin JP-4 on my hyper with the standard engine and its cool, cant tell you the difference cause i never ran the tuned hyper pipe that came with it..

Did you fit this pipe to the stock engine?

I remember when i got my hyper 8.5, was awsome looking car compared to my 1/10 scale buggys. what you planning to do with it? racing or bashing around??

thats good to know, is there a pinnie up about this, as im looking to get a baja when the right one turns up, book bit unsure now as i dont know the difference from a HPI Baja to a kings clone thingy. could someone write in detail how to tell, i mean a few parts can be changed with ease to make out its a baja, but some parts have got to be visible....like you say nitrohlolic, the pics are not showing the parts where you could def tell, what areas are they? thanks

I had the same problem with mine when i bought it, unluckily for me the seller didnt tell me, i had to find out the hard way If the car has spider diffs front and back like mine I had to refit the original diffs and new pinion gears otherwise the mesh is loose and causes it to grind the pinion and diff gear, by having the brake on and pushing the car it will click like mad. if u run it like he did u will strip the pinion and outer diff gear in seconds. ask him if there is spider diffs all round, it says it on the outer casing of the diff if he is unsure.. I fitted st outer crown gears to hyper seven diff housings, saves a bit of money if you look around for cheap ones, they fit straight into the st diff

I got a Hyper ST Pro and i think there great cars to bash and to race, I got a Hyper 8.5 buggy also and that is gr8 fun for both too. I think both cars will suit you, its totally up to you, if you get into it which im sure you will, you will get both, and a monster truck...and then a petrol..lol its addictive
