  1. Hi - Where do you go in Purley Way? Is it safe up there - whenever I drive past there seem to be some very dodgy people around
  2. Looks great. I work near to Northampton 3 - 4 days each week, so I'd be up for meeting one evening if you were arranging something.
  3. Hi - the best tip that I can offer as a relative noobie myself is to make sure that the engine is warm before trying to startit. This might sound crazy but most nitro engines hate cold weather (they only fire due to the internal heat). When it is cold I always keep the car inside by a radiator until I'm ready to try to start it. It infuriates the wife but the cars start much easier
  4. The suggestion to take it to pieces and then reassemble was so that you can see if anything is worn, broken or badly adjusted. This is one of the unwritten rules of running nitro cars - bits will break and/or stop working all on their own. It really is best to disassemble the gears so that you can get a good look at what is happening.
  5. I was looking for the high-tech approach, but I guess standing it on its side is going to be just as effective. Thanks all.
  6. I'll look out for a Schumacher wrench - I find it a real pain in the a** that an ordinary wrench just allows the plug to drop out...
  7. Hi All.... Does anyone know if there is a glow plug wrench on the market that actually grips the plug so that you can lift it out an refit it easily? I am getting fed up with dropping the plug into the heatsink and just hoping that it ends up in the right place. Also, the muck that this must drag into the cylinder can't be healthy....
  8. Hi - Are you open to offers... I see that this has been for sale for some time now... PM me if you're interested.
  9. Hi - I have a few questions..... What are you including? Does it include the RC gear? How old is the engine? Where are you? Would I be able to collect if I decide to buy? Thanks, Neil.
  10. Hi - just going back to your glow plug.... Mine glows continuously if I take it out of the car and connect it, so you could have a duff glow starter. The other thing to think about at the moment is the temperature. My Inferno will not start at the moment unless I warm it up first. You can do this with a hair dryer, but I find it easier to just leave it indoors in a warm room for an hour or so before you want to use it.
  11. Hi Eddie - sorry I didn't make it on Saturday. It was just too cold for me Hope to meet up soon.
  12. Hi Eddie - if there are no family commitments (and if it is not freezing like it was last year when we met) I'm up for it... Update the post with more details if you get anything finalised. Neil.
  13. I'm mobile - happy to travel a few miles to meet up....

    Turning circle

Good suggestion - it is really hard to see at speed, but I'll have a look to see if the setup can be improved to get rid of understeer.
  15. Hi all.... I have a Kyosho Infero and I don't get good turning performance from it. At low speed it is reasonable, but at high speed it does not turn quickly... Is this likely to mean that I need a new servo that is a bit more manly, or is there another explanation? I know that the steering sensitivity is adjusted on the remote control - that is already set at max.... Thanks..
  16. From the number of posts it looks like a few people are interested in meeting up. So now the tricky part.... We need to find somewhere to go and suggest a date/time. My suggested criteria for somewhere to go would be - Near the Surrey / Kent / London borders Away from houses and other users who are likely to get annoyed when half a dozen small cars start tearing around Interesting mix of surface - grass, tarmac, flat, slopes and jumps Anyone like to suggest somewhere that fits the bill?
  17. Hi Mike - last time I met up with Eddieboy it was so cold I thought I was going to get hypothermia.... Would be good to meet up - suggest a time and place and we can see if it fits. Norman Park is great, but it can get busy with joggers and dog walkers. I don't want to create a nuisance down there Neil.
  18. If it runs ok up to 50% throttle then it sounds like it may be too rich. Carry on leaning out the engine a little at a time and see if it improves. I used the tuning guide in this forum when I yuned my buggy after running in - it was a great help ! Good luck.
  19. Which part of Suffolk are you from? I am from Suffolk originally but I moved away. However I still visit fairly reguarly and it would be good to run the car while I'm there...
  20. I've finished the decorating that I've been nagged to do, so I can go and play with my buggy again...... I've got a Kyosho Inferno and I'm looking for somewhere to run it around and have fun. I sometimes use Norman Park in Bromley, but I can get to anywhere around the Croydon / Bromley / South London area. Anyone fancy meeting up? Neil.

Hi - If there is a good specialist model shop near you they should be able to order anything you need, but you may need to give them part numbers, etc. I have used Apex Models (also on the internet) for this, but I'd suggest using a local specialist store. Also, if the parts are current, many people strip cars and sell the components on eBay, so you can usually find everything for current cars on there.
  22. Tell them to show you the rule that says you can't store flammable/toxic liquid in your room. If they can't show you such a rule then you win. If they can, then I'm afraid you need to get a job and get a house - then you can do what you want.....
  23. I just got a temperature sensor from eBay just like this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Infrared-Thermometer...1QQcmdZViewItem If that link doesn't work then just search for infrared thermometer on eBay. You will see that they are much cheaper (mine was
  24. Got it - thanks. As the electrical power is only on when the engine is started I assume that the plug glows due to the fuel burn and temp within the combustion chamber once the starter is removed.
