  1. I saw someone on the FB group with one of these installed...looked good but not sure how it would be in reality. I tend to like the idea of cheap plastic parts being broken, rather than the more expensive drive train. Not sure why but got kicked off the FB group...probably for being helpful and the owner of the group didn't like it!
  2. I think that's the same with most though... Overtime with an upgrade here and there it just adds up... But chances are you would have done the same on another model... Just started off with higher purchase price! I think I've spent a total of 600 on my 3 trucks to get them to where they are now which is including purchase price, upgrades, new radio and conversions which is still cheaper than buying 3 of them stock Brushless... And mine are so much better. Just to add the initial purchase for all three was just shy of 200! I got some cracking deals!
  3. Yeah, they are a blast...and the kids aren't badgering me to have a go one mine when they get bored of theirs!! Going to buy a bag of the flanged nuts...as I'm sure it won't be the first one I'll lose! And they are impossible to find in the grass regardless of colour!
  4. Took the the newly converted Carnages out last night and they really rip!! They seemed a lot quicker than my carnage...but my boys cars have the stock tyres on them..and I have road ones. So I struggle to put traction down and they are a smaller so will be slower. But still plenty fast enough. We had a lot more damage with the shells as expected as the cars were hitting the ramp at higher speeds! We also, lost a flanged nut for one of the wheels as it came loose as didn't have my nut wrench to hand to check them. A lot of them were quite loose when we got home...so potentially could have lost a few. I'm thinking about buying a bulk load from here... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161134118982 I know they are not pretty, but could order a pack of 20 or 30 for not much more than a pack of 4 pretty anodised ones! Any issues with the item above?
  5. I tried it with a bit and it was still wobbly...decided to get rid of it completely! Discovered training mode, which will be handy for when I give the remote to the kids! Also, what do people prefer out of the trigger position? It is the first time I've been given a choice, 50/50 or 70/30? Cheers
  6. Oh poop!! Yes! Not sure what is going on with my mind lately! Just sold Max8 and it would rip the carnage to shreds! Lol
  7. Received both my hobbywing Max8 today... So hopefully tomorrow will be a busy day wrenching on the carnage! All three need to be worked on! Hopefully will get a dry spot on the weekend to test!
  8. So been out with X Maxx a few times now! Its been brill!! I've flipped it, crashed it, cartwheeled it and so on...and still its asked for more! The Sundapow batteries from Amazon are fantastic...and give me about 45 mins of decent run time! (mileage will vary!) I did have an issue where the front wheels were glitching...not had that issue the first two times I took it out...when going at speed, the car would wobble. Turned the TSM off and it solved the issue. Is there a way to calibrate the TSM?? Cheers
  9. True, could try the acetal one while waiting for the one from banggood??
  10. See if you can find same ones direct https://www.rwracing.co.uk/ Cheaper postage than model sport and faster too.
  11. Can't believe it!! I've received the spurs and pinions today already!! Considering the postage was cheap compared to model shops, it's come so much quicker than the Eta from model shops. Definitely recommend going direct to the RC racing website!!
  12. Right just ordered: 2 x CNC Tamiya 0.6 Module Pinion 1 x .6 Module Helicopter Pinion, 5mm Bore, short boss 3 x FTX Vantage/Carnage 65t Acetal Spur Gear Direct from RW Racing Not a cheap month lol
  13. Right...after me thinking my Spurs would last...I stripped it in my own RC car! 😆 Time to upgrade!! What teeth spur do you recommend? Stock is 65T, should I just stick with that? Do you recommend changing to a better pinion? RW? And what T do your suggest on Brushless..I think current is 19T Might as well order 3 sets of Spur and the pinions at same time. Cheers
  14. Found the original post!! As bought it on here! Etronix Photon SC2.1FW System with 3000KV Motor and 80amp ESC This is what is installed!
  15. Haha...I might have to take it off one of them and give the E-Tronix to the younger one! lol To be honest, not sure what KV my Etronix is, but the Hobbywing is 3300. I bought the E-tronix in a whim...didn't even realise they had different shaft sizes until i got it and it was a 5mm shaft! Used the FTX siege pinion which hasn't been shredded yet even though using stock spur and pinion.
  16. Not done that yet, will wait until the stock one gets chewed up! Going to program them with softer acceleration as well, which seems to have helped my Carnage. Might order a programming card for the Hobbywings. Will see how their cars perform...as I've currently got an Etronix set up in my Carnage! lol Can't have them having a better car than me! lol
  17. Just won two Hobbywing Max10 with Hobbywing 3652 on ebay! Not told the kids, but will be hopefully upgrading their brushed Carnages this weekend! Should be a lot faster 🙂
  18. More items have been sold...not a huge amount left 🙂 I've sold the truck now, so the rest of the stuff has to go.
  19. Just messaged the guy who I bought it from and he's already done the 2085X servo upgrade! I don't think there is anything else left for me to do in terms of basic upgrades. Just gotta find time to enjoy it now!! Took it for a spin yesterday to make sure it was all in check and the thing is a beast... little blips of throttle and wheelies like mad. Also, goes like poo off a shovel! More than fast enough for my needs!! So glad I made the plunge!
  20. Is there any easy way of seeing what servo you have in the X-Maxx or you have to strip it down?
  21. Early surprise!! Was supposed to get my X-Maxx delivered on Friday however it came yesterday! Still can't get over how big this thing is!! Everytime I look at it, I have a stupid grin! It makes my XXL look like a toy and my carnage looks like a small hotwheels car! It came with two shells, one stock and the Proline Brute shell. Comes with Max 6 Rpm rear hubs Rpm Wheelie bar Spare set of Louise wheels Overall very chuffed with it! Can't wait for the weekend to give it a spin!
  22. If you guys are still after parts, look at my thread in the for sale section. Lots of new parts and a custom made motor mount. Cheers
  23. I know... I bought some 2s ones for my kids carnages for just over £20...they have dropped to around £16 now...so just bought another pair! lol
