  1. Got a question. I've got this ESC in my non-flux but BL firestorm: It's 2s-3s lipo compatible. Haven't run it on 3s actually but I'm willing to try it. I'm having some 2nd thoughts though: -will the esc-fan be killed with 3s? It says max 7.2V and 3s is 12.6V fully charged. Why would they state it takes 3s then? -does the esc regulate RX-voltage? Or will it put out 12.6V to the RX and servos? That would fry them I suppose? Or not?
  2. Beware of the wires on this battery in the firestorm. I've got a similar Turnigy 5000mah 2S and it does not fit my firestorm, at least not without cutting in the chassis.
  3. That thing is wild! Loos to cope beter with 3s than a "real" e-firestorm. I guess that's because it's heavier.
  4. Will this carb give me any advantage over my stock carb on my stock 26cc 5T engine?
  5. I think it looks rather toy-ish, like the nikko car my 4 year old nephew has.
  6. Funny you should say that. As a matter of fact I unexpectedly ran into a hobby shop today that was gonna close and it sold out, everything had to go with price drops until -80%. I almost drooled when a full & complete rack of the typical Tamiya jars caught my eye + 4 shelves of Tamiya spray cans Then I quickly saw they were only acrylic & plastic paints. It was mainly a toy and scale model-shop, so never took the PC paints in stock. Bummer, at -80% I would have bought everything of him
  7. Ok then, I'm not dreaming, it really is hard to find. That's just bizar, no? There's nothing easier than brush painting a shell. And if there's any paint result that's always good with a brush, then that would be painting lexan bodies inside out, you can't get that wrong! I also find it a lot easier than spray cans when applying lots of colors . You just don't have to mask everything on the shell.
  8. Nooo, these are airbrush-paints! I need paint to apply with a brush!
  9. In the past I've always used the famous Tamiya PC-paints, which I've always liked (never used another polycarbonate paint tbh so I wouldn't know if there's better stuff available). Since they've stopped producing them they start to be pretty hard to get. I don't like spray cans, so which other brands make good pc or lexan paint in jars?
  10. Can you post a picture of it mounted on the car but with a camera angle like this picture, so I can judge on the looks?
  11. Well I've said I already have that Ansmann charger . It's pretty good value for money but lipo storage charges awfully slow, and discharge maxes at 2 amps. On top of that, storage voltage is a bit off with 3.81V in average. It's not a hi-current charger and max charge is 6A. Other than that it's a decent charger, I'm keeping it as an extra one.
  12. Yeah I've also wondered that. I guess big heat sinks are too expensive? Or manufacturers want to keep size as small as possible to allow for easy transportation. Bulb is a good idea though, I use and have always used a 12V H4 bulb to discharge my NiMH packs (and NiCD packs in the old days).
  13. I had a look at that as well. I chose the Thunder Power as it was still approx. 25
  14. Couldn't wait anymore for this charger to go on sale , so I bought a pretty cheap 27V power supply locally and I finally went for the Thunder Power TP820CD dual port DC charger. At 2 x 20A it's a pretty powerful beast, not cheap (approx.
  15. Agree. In fact if i was to keep 1 RC-car it would, without a doubt, be the Summit, it's just the most versatile and fun truck! You can literally drive it anywhere. BL is a must though to satisfy the need for speed. I've waited a year or so to upgrade motor & ESC but now I'm wondering why, it's so much more alive and instant fun than before. In converting it to BL I've given up all weather capabilities but I don't care, there's no comparison with stock motor & ESC. But Traxxas should really do a BL waterproof one though! 4S is enough imo, at least it stays alive a bit longer.
  16. Alright, makes sense then. Imagine how big RC is over there, that would never happen in Europe.
  17. Don't need brushless, already have it. Need black beadlocks (which they don't make) to go with my Bronco '73 body That Kawasaki body is weird (what's the point??) but pretty cool though.
  18. I'm after this charger, too bad this chap hasn't been on the forum for 8 months apparently. But you never know, so: Is this still for sale?
  19. No, it's exactly the opposite. A bigger pinion will have more velocity, thus speed will increase. But load also, so try to keep it cool. I have a 21t on mine and it's ok. It gets warm, but not boiling hot.
  20. Thanks for info but the idea of hard case packs was multi purpose, would use them in my firestorm as well, where they fit perfectly. A "soft" pack with wires exiting on the side doesn't fit the central tray. Other than that they also don't seem to make the same specs battery in a soft case. I'd then have to cut down on amps or on discharge capacity. Does anyone actually know if they fit a Summit or E-revo then?
  21. I was looking at these to order as my 5000 Mah 2S 20C just don't seem to have enough punch to unlock the full BL-potential on my Summit. Will they fit in the battery trays, with those wires sticking right up when plugged in? I'd like to have these so I can use them in my Firestorm as well. I have these now, and they fit, but the wires are pretty flexible. I guess the E-revo has got the same battery trays? So anyone's using these nano-techs?
  22. I want one since I can't still get this one...
