  1. You got it! The course I looked at had a 90%+ employment rate. That's pretty good in today's job market! But still, I'm probably going to bugger off to Germany or Norway or Iceland or something. Distance myself from this country while I can!
  2. That's what annoys me - tuition fees are going up, for all courses. Yet even though there's a shortage of engineers in the country, engineering graduates, guaranteed a job at the end of their course are paying the same as people going off to do David Beckham studies, or Philosophy and Theology. What job can those get you?
  3. Yo, 1/8th peeps; how do your drive cups go onto your gearboxes? I need some cups for my project, but the Traxxas ones are £6.

This is where I wish I hadn't gotten rid of that GS Storm :P

  4. Customs charges aren't so expensive if you refuse to pay the handling charge (You have to pay VAT and duty, though). They have a go at you, but stick to your guns, ignore the letter demanding payment, and the charge goes away If I'm ordering from abroad, I expect my package to come through customs. I don't want to be charged for a service I've already paid for.
  5. According to the news, the record was for 500m. Can't see why they couldn't do that on a runway, I'm sure there are some around longer than 500m! Also, if you look closely at some of the cutaway pictures of the car, it says they use ni-cad cells.
  6. If I were to extend the rubber exhaust outlet on the pipe of my 2.5r engine, would it affect the performance?

You can alter the timing of the exhaust port. By lengthening the exhaust you will retard the closure of the exhaust port which could have adverse effects on performance and make it use more fuel to compensate whats not bein burnt although tbh i doubt you would notice any difference what so ever. I would try it and see what happens

  7. Anyone got any of these lying around they'd want to sell me? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/traxxas inner drive cups for steel constant velocity driveshafts/rc-car-products/38099

Trooper, that's not a 2t clutch bell, it used to be a 15t, but you're just not good enough with a screwdriver to set the mesh properly ;)

  10. Well, 6'7" It makes some things easier, some harder. That's why the postbox was so hard, long limbs means lots of leverage to fight
  11. Infrared hacks, at least on point and shoots, are easy if you have the patience to get at the CCD and a steady hand with a scalpel. I helped a guy to it to a
  12. Yup, I live about 3 minutes away
  13. I was marching at Pride London (fyeah genderqueer asexual ), and snapped this shot completely on a whim. It turned out pretty good I think, apart from the ejit with the ***** balloon wandering across the shot :@
  14. How much do you want for the Winfast mobo only? Just popped an identical one in my desktop, and I'm looking for a replacement. Don't care about the CPU, I have an Athlon 64 to go in there.
  15. Pff, I did it when it was still called the lying down game. I look like an idiot in this one, it was REALLY hard. Yes I had my arms out. The roof was fragile, and I could either stick my arms out, or move forward and go through the roof. My hair looks ****ing stupid. So glad I keep it short now
  16. The highest capacity is what you can physically fit in the battery holders, the highest C rating is as high as you can afford. You'll have to ask an MERV owner what the largest packs that fit are, but I think most 1600mah ones do, from what I read.
  17. I heard stories that Apple are going to use their own processors in future iDevices.
  18. I need a 1/8 centre diff assembly... Would it be cheaper to build one from new parts, or buy a second hand roller and strip out the one in there?

i might have one you could buy, i can have a look if you want?

  21. Because the government listen to petitions The price of Brent crude has fallen below $100 a barrel, but petrol prices aren't falling. The supermarkets are going to start a price war with the petrol stations soon, since it's in their interest to get people through the door. Doesn't bother me too much. I always work out meticulously the cheapest way to travel, then hypermile my way there if I drive
  22. Linux is great... When it works While most people know someone who knows how to fix Windows when it breaks, how many people have a Linux geek in their phone book? (All of my friends, but that's the point ). Have Apple patented rectangles now?
  23. It's not going to have a fuel cell that converts petrol to electricity, is it?
  24. Hi all. Looking for a complete 1/8 centre diff and brake assembly. Don't care about the brand, but would prefer a nice big spur gear on it. Would like brake discs and pads (obviously), but don't mind about linkages. Anyone got something in a parts box somewhere? Shoot me an offer. Thanks Joe
  25. Gotta get there before the pandas, too.
