You sure the throttle servo isnt twitching or anything? Do you have a fail safe installed?

Well it would need a new piston, conrod, piston liner and crank case... Practically a new engine...

It was half way through its 6th tank, first after break in, Byrons 20 percent, 16 percent lubrication, about half throttle when it died. Just went TING really loudly and wouldn't turn over, so I assumed it was flooded... Im frustrated, this thing hasnt worked ever, I got it new two years ago, and its NEVER worked. it was just starting to run properly when this happend. Traxxas are being very 'helpful' and offering me a new 3.3 for a mere 95 quid, plus P&P. I just fkin spent 85 quid on that engine three weeks ago. I dunno if its worth even fixing, i might just give up this bloody hobby, its so damned expensive.

After all the problems ive had with my tmaxx, 2.5 dying, servos dying, radio dying, RB engine dying, starter dying, exhaust bursting, carb dieing, batterys dieing gearbox dying, just about everythign that can die has died. I got a new 3.3 and was having fun running this truck for the first time in a year and suddnely the engine stalled. What do I find? THIS : :angry: :angry: :angry: pic 1 pic 2 pic 3 pic 4 GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I opened the back up and all this shrapnel came out, and the conrod is split in two down the middle, and the piston and liner are jamed together and jamed into the crank case. I phoned traxxas and they wont cover it because I got it off ebay, and even th ought its a brand new engine they wont cover it because it wasnt in a box etc etc. GRR.GRRRRRRR i must have spent about 1000 quid on trying to fix this f*&^& thing and just when it starts working it does this.

Went out bashing today and the receiver, was being a ******* again. I changed the batteries and it seemed to help but when I got home I desvovered the problem... The steering servo was totally smashed to pieces, cracked down the case, the nobby bit that spind round was sticking out wonky, and I recon the servo was sending back funny signal to the receiver and screwing about the receiver. Anyway I changed the servo and it hopefully is OK now.... Thanks for the suggestions though...

My 2.5 did exactly this. reset to the factory settings, and dont forget that now you have a new piston and liner you need to break it in again. Once its re-broken in, do the pinch test to set the LSN and see if that helps...

Also do something to make sure the plastic head protector stays on properly... I dont have a hyper .21 but I found a hyper .21 plastic head protector today at our bashing site, so someone's lost one :-D

A good investment would be an electric starterbox. Pull starting is a pain, especially when its a new engine. The starter box will also start the engine with the shell on which is an added bonus. OS No2 is a good plug (works in my 3.3 anyway)

Im using a 3ch radio, originally designed for slow flying gliders (but dont worry, its legal for ground vehicle use (the guy in the model shop shouted at me once about that )) mainly because it has an absolutely perfect built for the job third channel doobery operated by the right finger which is really good for the reverse gear changer. The receiver is an Hitec HFS-03MM I got two of them and they were both doing the same thing, so maybe it was just the battery all along... Oh well, heres to a good bashing day tomorrow... hopefully... receiver

er... FM 40mhz channel 58 and 59 I my theory that the batteries were flat. They tasted pretty spicy on my tongue but when i changed them it started working intermittently and now its working properly. I hope.

well I dunno whats happening now, it seems to be working perfectly now :S Im going out bashing with Ollie tomorrow and hopefully it will work... Odd...
