My boys & me have lots of lego from various themes, Star Wars, Atlantis, power miners, city, monster hunters. I have a personal select collection of Star Wars myself:. I only like the proper Star Wars though, none of the clone wars muck my fave that I own is jabbas palace with the desert skiff and sarlacc pit alongside. I Want the rancor bit to add on next. Also got the millennium falcon last year which is pretty good too. Will try and get some pics up. What Star Wars lego have you guys got?
  9. Oodboo that pic is fantastic, hope you don't mind me saving an awesome copy of it for myself. Thanks for posting it bud :thumb:
  10. So in essence, you have seen other peoples rovan parts that weren't good. A bent chassis on delivery could have been dropped by the courier. Two shocks, what do you actually mean by 'give out'? Did the seals go or the shafts or what? Give out covers a lot. Did the owner of the shocks do any jumping etc or did the shocks give out when he opened the box? Your vagueness about rovan is as I thought based on others experience not your own. So keeping on topic, is there any experienced actual owners of rovan items who would like to give an honest opinion of the quality of rovan plastic items? Actual owners only need to apply No bum gravy about I saw/heard/read/made up. Just a proper opinion if possible
  11. You haven't answered my queries - you just say that every rovan part you have owned is crap. What parts exactly did you have and how & why did the part break. And what makes you think that the same part from KM or HPI wouldn't have broken either. You haven't given any worthwhile info apart from saying to avoid Rovan. Is the plastic more brittle, is the alloy less strong etc etc. what exactly instead of skirting the question. And how much action did the Rovan items receive? Did you break them in the workshop or was it a 60mtr jump off a sand dune? How long have you owned a Rovan item. I didn't say that you personally have given KM the bad rap/rep but you seem to think that the early KMs weren't very good. I disagree & dispute your 'fact no two ways about it'. There is two ways about it (or maybe three or four). And also 'their old engines didn't have the best of reputation'. Did you not read my post about my KM engine that's very old still running fine? Yes some people had issues, but then some people had various issues with the genuine HPI 5b rtr v1 breaking too. So saying things like 'fact' needs to be used carefully unless backed up by solid info & experience rather than hearsay. Sorry to be bearer of bad news but it appears that some others are somewhat disgruntled with your facts as well Anyway before it completely wanders into locked thread territory.......I'm considering buying a plastic Rovan item. Apart from Rovan being crap......can someone with good first hand experience share any facts about the manufacturers plastic parts?
  12. I have owned a KM, and still own what's left of it after around about 7 years of bashing. I haven't had a Rovan but a guy who comes to the NEB bashes has a Rovan and it's been spot on so far. What exactly is the difference in quality? Is it better alloys or plastics, or did the Rovan fall to bits etc, what exactly makes you say to avoid them? I was considering buying a Rovan item, not a full car though so I'm interested in what specifically puts you off. And my KM (of old) was one of the first very early models and it has parts that have outlasted genuine hpi items so saying that KM got a bad rap from these early models is slightly wrong, as I recall the early models had decent engines, then KM changed the crankcase to a new design and the engines overnight became garbage fillers, So if they have improved again somewhat since then it has me curious as to what they have changed to set themselves apart from Rovan. For the record, my km 23 engine is still working fine after all these years, only prob I ever had was a split in the fuel line. And that's some going for an engine IMO.
  13. I do love the look of dem mogs, kieran who used to come bashing had a cr01 mog but they are too expensive for me. Wonder if a mog shell could be applied to my axial crawler. Wanna talk to you again about your magnificent Wii controller as I think that my 4yr old would be able to come bashing too if using one of them. Gotta love a Dom pipe on any engine, but it seems to make a 23 into a raging beast once its opened up
  14. Out of interest oh how original.....why would you avoid Rovan but recommend KM, they are both about the same IMO. Do you know something particular to Rovan?
  15. Why do you want to steer when the car is stationary? Not really needed unless you are running a crawler or scaler. As per a real 1:1 car, it's recommended to turn the steering whilst moving. If you are making the servos do a lot of strain (by expecting them to turn to full lock whilst stationary) then you will drain the battery faster as they are pulling more current. On the cars in your profile - 2450mah cells should be more than adequate for a good day out, if used correctly and fully charged. Don't blame the cells - blame your driving
  16. Sorry to jump in but are you sure that your AA cells are being fully charged using a decent charger? I used to get ages out of my 1600mah packs on my nitro models so not sure how you are running them out so fast. How many tanks are you getting out of a fully charged pack?
  17. Let me know if you would consider selling the sct conversion bits with the shell and wheels etc separately.
  18. Great day oot, cheers to everyone who came. A special thanks to proc & kevs for building the fine ramp :punk: and I never broke the SC either although I think the bodyshell can't carry any more cable ties so it may have seen its last action So do we reckon that billy may have a baja built in a week? Fast return to rc Nice little vid oodboo :thumb: Where to for next bash then guys & gals & gimps?
  19. Don't forget the FG truck as well if your budget can stretch to a largescale model. They are excellent
  20. Like the naming of them, but I didn't realise that Blake could be a girls name. Looking forward to seeing them all finished. I bought that same trackstar esc for my flux build, happily surprised by its quality so far and I have been running it on 8s. It's much better than I thought it would be for the money. Let us know how large your grin is when you 1st run the elecky.... I too am an aficionado of the multiple baja. I have built nearly three now just from spare parts, and there is two that I bought complete but I'm thinning out the fleet a little ATM due to space. Are you planning on building any more?
  21. Nah he's a lovely lad and we all love him really, but don't tell him that I said it
  22. He's not Scottish, he's a plastic mackem at heart
