  1. I wonder if anyone has an opinion on the above? Reliability, spares, performance or what you will. I'm rather fancying one, but any advice will be most welcome. Thanks.
  2. I have both the Slyder and the Tracer, I find them lots of fun in the garden. I bought a couple of spare batteries but am pleasantly surprised at how long they run per battery.
  3. Thanks, I'm sure the batteries were charged but will double check, it's not slowed by anything. What puzzles me is initially it goes as normal, for about 150 yards on each battery. I'll rebind the esc, and as I have a spare esc if rebinding doesn't work I'll pop in the other. The motor was quite cool and I didn't get the dreaded smoke smell. Could it be dirt on the commutator? Cheers, Geoff
  4. Hi, My buggy has an issue. At the track yesterday I popped in a 5000ah NIMH battery and bashed around the track until the car slowed indicating the battery was getting down. I replaced the battery with another, fully charged and it took off as normal, but with in a lap slowed, as if the battery was down. Another fully charged battery had exactly the same result, it's almost as if I had turned the throttle down to 50%. The motor has a fan, the esc was cool and I'm stuck! Any suggestions as to what I change first would be most welcome.
  5. FTX Ravine. About £100, add decent tyres and some weight another £50. I have one and am amazed how good it is. Next I'll spend another £40 odd for more powerful servos and all should be good.
  6. I recently bought an FTX Ravine, for about £100. It needs netter tyres and stronger servos, it has 4 wheel steering, but out of the box is a lot of fun! (I have the servos, and the tyres are coming which nearly doubles the £100, but you don't have to do it straight away.) Compared to my Absima Khamba, which cost a lot more! It is a better crawler out of the box.
