  1. I may, only may, have found a wing that doesn’t break at the sight of a bit of wind modelsport didn’t have any Vantage wings in stock so I took a chance on this which is still FTX but for another model. Part number FTX9085 Needs a bit of Modding to fit by moving the mounts back and drilling out the holes in the wing but I’ve flipped it a few times without it breaking time will tell….. any recommendations for Road Tyres for this model as you can tell, I’ve stripped the FTX ones. I’ve tried the Fastrax ones but they are delicate, I’ve split them catching a kerb.
  2. China - it’s for a VRX Spirit which is essentially the same model https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32918280552.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.521c1802lWLZuI
  3. I’ve just changed the chassis on mine to this aluminium one.
  4. FTX vantage upgraded with SMD brushless 3800, 5000 2s LiPo just getting back into RC so it’s fast enough for me.
  5. I used go Deane School. Have you run on the all weather pitch ? I’ve been going out in the evenings, just to get away from the house for a bit, and have used a few of the park and rides, Leigh, Horwich & wardley
  6. I’ve tried searching the thread before asking this question but I couldn’t find any answers. Just wrecked a set of Fastrax Arrow wheels that I’ve managed to crack by catching a kerb and I cracked the rear wheel just by jumping a speed bump. The grip on those with the road style tyres was brilliant but, the rims are pretty fragile. Can anyone recommend a good road tyre like the Arrows had, but with a stronger rim ? Thanks
  7. I know it’s about 6 months since the OP but I’m in Bolton and have just taken up RC Ive used local car parks and the old A57 near the AJ Bell stadium to run my car.
  8. Yeah, when I replaced the one I broke I noticed the circlip was missing on the original. Might have come off in the crash but I’m sure it was missing before as the steering was so much better with it on the new one. I got fed up today not being able to run the car due to the servo breaking so I ordered one off Amazon Prime, a 25 kg one. Arrived about 5pm and I’ve fitted it and it seems ok. It’s a no make one but I’ve got one coming from MS so I can always keep this is a spare.
  9. I’ve just done the same for mine, having crashed twice snapping the front suspension holder in one crash & again in the other, adding the servo saver as well. I ordered quite a few parts to stock up on, front arms, tower, servo saver, Ackerman etc as, like you say, they are cheap enough. I thought £30 on stocking up would future proof any damage and save waiting for postage. Today, the servo gave in so contacted MS asking advice about a replacement & could they do anything warranty wise as it’s only a month old. They must have checked my ordering history as they said it must have had an impact lol with the amount of spares I’ve bought, they understandably think I’ve properly totalled it ha ha. Can’t blame them to be fair lol. Anyway, I ordered a new one, a 15 kg metal extronix
  10. Cheers Ant The parts were delivered Today just I’ve just fitted them and got it running again, fitted the missing bearing also. I also ordered some new wheels with a road tyre thread & ive only run it up the side street but it seems to have made the handling better but that could also be the fact one of the front wheels is now tracking straighter as it’s got the bearing in now that was missing. I’ve got some off road wheels also so I can just swop them depending on which surface I’m running on. On my next day off work, I may put some more grease in the diffs. Would lithium grease be ok as I’ve got some I use on the bearings on my mountain bike.
  11. Hi Everyone My first post here as I’m just getting back into RC. I used to be well into RC in the early 90’s & I’ve bought a FTX vantage as a starter to see if I’m going to enjoy the hobby now as much as I used to. It was brushed but I soon got used to the speed so I’ve gone brushless with a SMD 3900 60A ESC combo with a 5000 lipo which is fast enough for me. I’ve had it up to 35 mph I’m off the road ATM as I’ve crashed it twice since the updates, once into my car wheel snapping the front holder on the Vantage. Fixed that & I’ve now managed to snap that again along with the servo saver in the stupidest crash ever. I was full speed and crashed into……..me. Yeah, straight into my foot which launched the car into a massive barrel roll into the railings of the car park I was on. Hopefully these are just teething problems whilst I get used to it. I’m really enjoying the hobby and love driving the car. One thing I have noticed when I stripped it down after the crash, I’ve a inner front wheel bearing missing. It’s not come out in the crash as that parts not damaged so it’s been missed out on the factory build. I’ve picked a bearing up locally but just wondered if anyone else has had bits missing from the factory ? also, is it worth greasing the diffs as they have hardly any grease on them. thanks
